Zofran expensive

Common Questions and Answers about Zofran expensive

zofran

Avatar f tn Hope something cheap helps lol
Avatar f tn t working that well, but our insurance said no because it is much more expensive. There is a generic Zofran now but it also is way more expensive than Phenergan and Compazine. I should have added that Joe didn't do all that much actual vomiting but he had lots of dry heaves. We tried some of the ginger cures also but no miracles there. I didn't give him ginger capsules because they are blood thinning and Joe's platelets are so low that I don't want to mess with that.
Avatar f tn Diclectin or diclegis (same thing) is vitamin b6 and doxylamine, just a lot more expensive. Zofran has not been recalled. I am a pharmacist and have still been dispensing it.
Avatar f tn If you are on treatment, the first thing I would do is to call my doctor and ask them for some compazine or some Zofran. Zofran works really well, but is quite expensive so the compazine is the next best thing. Things you can try at home include eating a couple of soda crackers, or try sipping on some ginger ale. One other thing that helped me was the juice off the can of peaches. You will probably get more suggestions, but this is a start. Hope you feel better soon.
Avatar f tn look for higher paying jobs or something if you are too stressed. They are expensive, but get 2nd hand clothes, cheap diapers(start buying early) or even cloth diapers?, try breast feeding/ pumping(formula is expensive). Hit up yard sales and internet sales. :) good luck to you! It is all so worth it!
Avatar f tn s supposed to be the miracle worker, but it sometimes needs to be combined, and I went through a lot of misery. Emend and Zofran are very expensive, and we had to do battle with my insurance company to authorize more than 9 Zofran pills a month.
Avatar f tn 7 months of puking all meals and taking zofran every 3 hours. I can relate. Got fluids several times at urgent care. I'm now 8 months feeling better and up 14 pounds.
Avatar f tn If your insurance won't cover the Zofran an alternative my doctor suggested was taking unisom and vitamin b12 it is basically the same thing as some really expensive medication often given to pregnant women but insurance often refuses to pay for it. It is used to reduce nausea and increase appetite and energy. But if you don't see any change don't worry. You will become malnourished before your baby will.
Avatar f tn Works for me id just consider trying cheaper things before you go for Zofran if its that expensive..
Avatar f tn Her doctor can give her zofran. It helped me tremendous amounts with my first pregnancy I couldn't even hold down water.
Avatar f tn but some insurance may not like it (unlikely though)...Zofran is now basically generic (yet still expensive w/o insurance) and they are working on others. Needless to say, your medical team needs to come up with solutions for you...it's frustrating that many don't seem to concerned and just fill out prescriptions. Although most of what you are experiencing is due to chemo and cancer, there are other things you can do such as food, relaxation, etc, etc...many things will trigger nausea.
Avatar f tn As in my case none of these worked and by the 11th week I was prescribed Zofran (expensive and insurance covers only a small amount, but I was willing to fork it over to feel better). Hope this is helpful and that you feel better soon!
Avatar m tn t do it and you should try prescription meds. Most of us have had very good results from Zofran, though there are occasional people who get nothing but a headache from it. For me, Zofran is nothing short of a miracle. I can't take most anti-nausea meds – most of them only slightly reduce the nausea but very effectively render me nearly unconscious. Zofran comes in either 4mg or 8mg, and comes either as a pill you swallow or as one you dissolve on your tongue.
Avatar f tn Hang in there I'm 12 weeks 2 days I've lost 17 pounds. I take zofran too with out it somedays I can't even keep water down. After the third time throwing up in an hour you can find me crying on the bathroom floor wondering why the squishy hates mommy already. I have faith that it will get much better very soon. And if it doesn't looks like zofran will be my incredibly expensive best friend.
Avatar f tn I took zofran and phenergan...then the doctor added dyclegis which was too expensive. The medication is a vitaminB 6 analog and unisom. Ask your doctor about this combination which is the same as the prescription but is cheaper and can be purchased OTC. It helped some...but made me sleepy.
Avatar n tn I take pure ginger and make a tea. U can have your doctor give you zofran... its very expensive. Eat protein, don't skip meals. Have many small snacks.
Avatar f tn I had this problem with my first I am not going to sugar coat it its very hard to deal with try different foods untill you find something that you can keep down don't give up zofran is what got me through
287246 tn?1318570063 Oh that was me yesterday. I was just curled around the toilet half the day. I have to say that the zofran is saving my life so far. I haven't had so much as a dry heave since I started taking it. Feel better.
Avatar f tn I use to be the same way. I drink ginger ale . Also my ob prescribed a med called Zofran . It really helps. Mk sure u drink plenty fluids water or Gatorade So u DNT become dehydrated..
Avatar f tn The only thing that worked for me was taking Zofran. All I did was call my doctor and tell them I was super sick and they prescribed it to me. It was kind of expensive but let me tell you, that stuff is magical, it was the only thing that got me through those first 3 months, there were days I just wanted to die. Talk to your doctor about it.
Avatar f tn Hi Jaybay, From what I've sen on here I don't believe that there is a Generic Form of Zofran as yet. I'm assuming this as EVERYONE is talking about how very expensive Zofran is. I think it's still too new. Sorry!! :( If anyone that is using it will answer then we'd know for sure. I called CVS and asked about a Generic for Zofran and they told me that there is that there IS a GENERIC out. They said it's been out for about a year now.
Avatar m tn Yes, anxiety and depression will contribute, but I also agree with the post above. I deal with anxiety and depression myself, so I know it's only part of the picture. Do ask about this test. One home remedy you can try is making a decoction (a way of making tea from roots and seeds) with ginger root. It is easy to make and inexpensive. It either works for you or it doesn't, but at least it isnt outrageously expensive like the Zofran is.
Avatar n tn Did acupuncture wks 5-8. It did help but was expensive. Was on zofran from weeks 8-18. Had to take it or vomited all day long/could not keep water down. Illness worse this time--2nd preg. Cannot go through it again. Besides fluids, fiber, prune juice, etc, Try taking half a pill and see if your BM improve. I was able to get through wks 16-18 on 1/2 and sometimes 1/4 pill. Now in wk 19 and thankfully only vomit 2-3 times a week but never more than once day.
356518 tn?1322263642 A newer drug called zofran does not make you sleepy but is is expensive.
Avatar f tn Didn't help me! :-) but I knew of a friend who swore by them.
