Zofran dosing for nausea

Common Questions and Answers about Zofran dosing for nausea

zofran

1084115 tn?1385228589 Congratulations on UND! That's wonderful news. Sorry you're struggling with nausea. I have read on this forum that some people have been prescribed a patch for nausea when Zofran didn't give enough relief, but take the full dose of Zofran that is prescribed and see if that does the trick. If not, call your doctor's office. Make sure you drink enough fluids so you don't get dehydrated, and rest when you're tired. Dehydration and overexertion can add to the nausea.
Avatar f tn Diclegis is longer acting (coated I believe has a cute little picture of a pregnant person on the pill) be careful about dosing and ask your doctor. I like zofran myself, same stuff chemo patients use, but its all in what works for you.
Avatar f tn Ondansetron (Zofran®) 8mg-16mg (They come in 4, 8 and 16mg tabs. You might need 16-32mg. Granisetron (Kytril®) 1mg tabs Aprepitant (Emend®) is new, and is used to prevent (not treat) nausea. Studies show it to be very effective especially when used in combination with the two drugs above and decadron (dexamethasone).. Palonosetron (Aloxi®) this is fairly new and only available IV, but it is the ONLY long-acting drug on the market—good for up to 5 days after administration.
427265 tn?1444076436 I used hydroxine (and about 80,000 other meds) while I was on treatment. I found it to be helpful for itching but only marginally helpful with the nausea. For nausea, I found that both phenergan suppositories and pills and the sublingual 8mg zofran were more helpful. I'll say one thing for hydroxine though.
Avatar m tn I think it is worth it. What have you tried so far? Many people with mild nausea get a lot of help from ginger (tea, candied, or capsules), and keeping your fluid intake very high is helpful too. If the nausea is severe those measures probably won't do it and you should try prescription meds. Most of us have had very good results from Zofran, though there are occasional people who get nothing but a headache from it. For me, Zofran is nothing short of a miracle.
Avatar f tn I have been on reglan for awhile now and I love it. I tried zofran and it didn't work for me, it just made me constipated. Reglan is perfectly safe to take. I haven't had any side effects.
Avatar f tn Yeah be careful with the zofran it constipatedme really bad
Avatar m tn I have been using phenergan/promethazine it's an antihistamine for nausea and itching, it made me sleepy until I got used to it. It works well for me on the nausea and I guess the itching as well as I haven't had to much of a problem with that yet.
Avatar f tn Zofran worked wonders for me!
10197070 tn?1409269893 I'm DESPERATE for nausea remedies. I was given medication but I don't feel comfortable taking it. HELP PLEASE!
Avatar f tn it was really bad to the point where I had to keep plastic bags in my car incase I had to throw up. I asked my doctor for Zofran and its helped so much! Natural remedies like drinking sprite or ginger ale, eating crackers, pretzels and things like that never helped me but idk how it works for u. If it doesn't I would get Zofran from ur doctor. Goodluck and congrats on your baby!
Avatar f tn I tried to take the pills but I was way to sick for that! So I have been on the Zofran pump (pumps Zofran into my stomach 24 hours a day) for the last 3 months. It's been "Heaven sent" for me! I lost 28 pounds in my first trimester and was unable to eat or drink anything for 11 weeks! Now because of the pump, I can eat anything and have gained 3 of those pounds back!
Avatar f tn Ask your doctor for zofran. It was a LIFE SAVER for me! I was only sick for a few weeks because I asked for zofran. After that, never got sick again. It works like a charm! But everybody is different.. some people don't get sick at all, others a few times, & some are sick the whole 40 weeks. Just depends on you girlie. Definitely ask for zofran. Best advice I can give ya. (: good luck!
Avatar n tn I will be going to the doctor soon so I will definitely ask for Zofran.
7721203 tn?1468443229 so I checked my Walgreens app earlier to see if my OB called in something for nausea, and I was surprised to see it was promethazine.. one, I don't take pills.. so I was wondering if it came in liquid form?? two, I thought zofran or something was safer to take during pregnancy?? I plan on calling to ask about all of this tomorrow, but I just wanted to know. I've taken promethazine before, years ago, and it made me super sleepy.. thanks for reading ladies! I'd appreciate any input.
Avatar f tn I took diclegis and it was a life saver. It's geared towards prego women unlike Zofran which is general anti nausea.
Avatar f tn Emetrol is an over the counter med for nausea that is safe, try always keeping something in your stomach, eat crackers before getting up in the am, try ginger tea. Good Luck, I never found anything that worked.
Avatar f tn I was soo sick before I started taking it, like leaving work early and calling in sick for 2 days at a time with nausea and vomiting. I hope it works for you.
Avatar f tn I was recently sent to the ER by my ob for rehydration since I wasn't able to keep ANYTHING down for the past week.
