Common Questions and Answers about Zofran dosage pediatric

zofran

Avatar f tn I have a Chihuahua and she weighs about 3-4 pounds. What dosage of Zofran should I give my sweetie Pie?? She became sick a few days ago, and we are on vacation away from our regular veterinarian. I am extremely worried about her. She is 10 months old and my husband bought her for me October 31, 2013 because I had a Chihuahua that would've turned 13 years old October 7, 2013 but she was killed by my neighbors dog.
Avatar f tn I am taking zofran and it's perfectly safe and a class b drug. The ads on tv are just lawyers trying to get money for a case they can't prove. The birth defects they state are the most common among all babies born no matter a family history or not. Don't be afraid to take it if you need it. If you are that afraid though, look up the study of 600,000 pregnant women in denmark in 2013 that proved it was safe.
564735 tn?1263943526 She is taking the following ani-nausea medicines zofran every 8 hours and taking promethazine every 4 hours. Does anyone have any suggestions to help with the nausea? Also if you are on or have had cisplatin , please let us know what your dosage is and how bad the nausea is? Her intial treatment was ( i think ) 160 mg and it is to be given every 28 days. her DR is planning on either doing a reduce dosgae every 2 weeks or 1 a week to help reduce side effects...
Avatar n tn 4) and TSH=0.783 (0.3-4.0), accordingly the pediatric endocrinologist of the hospital suggested reduction in terms of giving the dosage 5/7 days a week. Once more we desided to get another opinion. The new pediatric endocrinologist believed there is a high possibility of transient hypothyroidism (not that it matters) and suggested the continuation of dosage at 7/7 days with 25T4 tablets. The last blood test (same molecular lab) after a 2 week period showed the following values fT4= 1.99 (0.6-2.
Avatar f tn I started with 2mg Lorazapam and it worked right away . I had nausea right away as that was one of my first symptoms when I got sick. I took alot of ginger for the nausea at first and then I needed something stronger and that's when I took Zofran. The Zofran worked on my nausea right away also. If you take the two together at bedtime, the Lorazapam will help you sleep and the Zofran will help with the nausea.
Avatar f tn They both work pretty good for me..the zofran does work a little better for me though but it makes me so constipated (tmi) and the promethazine will make you so sleepy! I still need both occasionally :/ 32 weeks today!
Avatar n tn A child who takes 5 ml of the 250mg/5ml dose, for example, is receiving 250 mg of amoxicillin. The recommended pediatric dosage varies from 25 mg/kg per day to 45 mg/kg per day, depending on the underlying infection, according to Rx List. The suspension should be shaken well and measured with a marked measuring spoon to ensure that the right dose is given. Regular silverware should not be used to measure medication doses, warns Drugs.com.
1711722 tn?1356487554 I was prescribed 4 mg of zofran to take every 6 hours as needed, however that low dosage wasn't working for me so I asked to double up on it to two 4mg pills and I do them an hour before my RBA. I'm not even on Vic yet so I was thinking if it gets worst with Vic I'll change up to Phenergan as some people have said that it (nausea) may get worst after the start of the PI.
Avatar n tn It has been used for dogs but that is a strong drug often given to Chemo patients. I am not qualified to give advice or dosage on that. It sounds like you should be giving your Vet a call if the dog has a vomiting problem and try to determine the cause.
Avatar n tn I take both zofran and phenergan ..I was getting the zofran at first but my insurance only pays for 12 and I can get 50 of the other if you wake up in the middle of the night take one it works best that way ...I'm 27 w and still have bad morning sickness some days are better then others ...
Avatar n tn can a dog aprox 60-70lbs take Zofran for motion or car sickness. for extended 8hr car ride.
Avatar f tn Try eating some saltine crackers and drink some water and lay down and take deep breaths. That's what I did when I felt sick and it helped me.
Avatar f tn Yeah the Zofran "study" is total ********. It's only if you're getting the 32mg IV dosage on a regular basis that any problems can occur. Those on 4-8mg pills or IV doses are perfectly fine. You can take up to 32mg per day, just not all at the same time. I'm part of a group of 3000 moms, all of who have been on Zofran, and not one of them has had issues from the Zofran. I'm on it myself, along with Diclegis.
Avatar f tn Pediatrician did blood work and checked for Celiac, it was negative. Other blood work was Ok. Doing stool test this week. Had an appt for a pediatric gi specialist this week, Friday, Nov 20th. No fever but he says he feels hot., it actually runs below norm -- 97.4 or so. He's never been a sickly child and all of sudden this. He's missing a lot of school ... and that only makes things harder.
Avatar f tn Yip! Sounds just like me.
12380259 tn?1424964291 So I have heard about the Zofran issue and I have talked to my doctor and he talked to his consultant, I have talked to another doctor and a nurse and also researched on my own but I just read these comments on a fb post of all these women taking zofran and there babies had effects from it and I only have taken it if I felt I needed it once I got out of the hospital but now im freaking out reading all that!
Avatar f tn With onset of menses she developing a problem of nausea after eating when she was 13.. She had a ton of tests done through a a pediatric gastroenterology group through Stanford. She had an upper GI, MRI for brain tumor..nothing came back as remarkable. She had stool tests and tested positive for a common parasite Dientamoeba fragilis and was treated for it. But the symptoms persisted. They got better over time and have all but gone away until recently.
Avatar m tn Those are safe for him at 1/2 human adult dose. Simethicone (the active ingredient in gas-x) also comes in a pediatric form. If you get the pediatric form dose to effect. Hiccups are due to spasms of the diaphragm, however and getting rid of gas may not be effective, but it is worth a try.
676032 tn?1315674063 well I am a self med'er .... bad I know but most the time the dam dr's are wrong anyway! My last mayo endo says "your only one a pediatric so go ahead and stop the meds!" I said I did not want too....well I did thinking maybe he was right! NOT I went bad hypo within two weeks being off my pedatric dose..lol so I started my meds back to 25mcg..I knew that was not enough after 4weeks so I went to 37mcg! waited for my labs and yep! I knew still hypo!
Avatar f tn She can recommend a few medicines. She will probably start with zofran which didnt work with my first pregnancy ... but is a life saver right now in my 2nd trimester. I had hyperemesis so my situation was pretty extreme but see what she says. If you can try some of the natural things first I would do that. Honestly no matter what we say everyone's body reacts differently. None of the natural stuff worked for me. Not even gingerale. But it may for you. Good.luck.
Avatar n tn We are in NC and fortunately have been referred to a great pediatric Endo at Duke. I have seen mention of Pediatric Endo at Texas Childrens Hospital (not sure how far that is for you). We will be starting medication as soon as our local pharmacy can get it in. I hope she responds well. I have been looking into the possibility of Thyroidectomy or Radioiodine Treatment if indicated.

Avatar f tn m 13 now too) and when I brought it up to my Dr he immediately sent me in a prescription for zofran and told me to take it as needed because he didn't want me to be miserable. I would just keep on your Dr about it and if he still won't take you seriously or offer any advice then maybe look for a different Dr or midwife...sorry I can't be more helpful! Good luck!!
Avatar f tn Well the Zofran hasn't ever actually had a human have a direct problem from Zofran. There hasn't been direct proof, lawyers just noticed this was one thing in common women had when there children had a defect. But most woman are prescribed Zofran and have been for many years. Just talk to your doctor about it. In the research I have done and the doctors I have talked to say its safe to take.
Avatar f tn By evening, 2 mg Morphine is given in addition to Zofran, Morphine every 3 hours/Zofran every 6 hours. C Diff and H Pylori results come in - both are negative. 11/16/08: Upper GI w/Contrast results - all results within the normal parameters. 11/17/08: Sonogram of Gallbladder, Liver and Pancreas and Rt Kidney are all Normal Bailie was a bit yellow in the face, but the Bilirubin was normal, they also did a CRP and a CBC, which were both high, but not exponentially so.
