Yes but there is the issue of long term side effects. As a person with advanced tardive dyskinesia I am vividly aware of this. I have a friend whose mother has Parkinson's and she is being given Seroquel as a sleeping pill and I was told even by my psychiatrist that its "the wrong medication".
I have tardive dyskinesia which is clinically similar to Parkinson's and I have tardive akathesia which is similar to restless legs syndrome but it would depend on the cause of it. If its clinically similar to Parkinson's, I did not find Bachlophen, Mirapex, Aricept and Requip to be of help but many people do. I was ruled out for Tetrabenzene and Namenda but those have shown to be of help.
I would suggest you see a movement disorders specialist. Cinemet is a standard medication for Parkinson's. But he said "Parkinson's like". Make sure that its not tardive dyskinesia. I am judicious in bringing up long term effects but when a person has movement disorders after taking an antipsychotic long term that should always be ruled out.
I suffer from anxiety and depression. My husband has Parkinson's. How can I handle his choices of driving or doing dangerous work? I can't control all his actions. He is an extremely stubborn person. To what degree am I responsible for what he chooses to do? With my health, I can't go on with this overwhelming feeling of responsibility to control his choices!! If that does not work, then you probably need a prescription for Zofran which blocks the nausea and vomiting (which is caused by the drugs). Many of us used Zofran. It works very well for most of us. I took 8 mg every 8 hours for a few months.
Don't let this go. It will snowball. If the phenergan does not work, then ask for Zofran. Zofran does not make you sleepy. Phenergan does. Phenergan is cheaper, but Zofran works better (in my opinion). It is used to treat the nausea from Chemo.
My mother aged 60 yrs suffering from dizziness while sitting or standing and imbalance during walking from last two months. She also sometimes has slurred speech and lack of coordination and nausea/vomiting . Her BP, hemoglobin and sugar is normal. Initially treated by a ENT specialist for 15 days and a audiogram test was also done. Test was normal with minor hearing loss in left ear. Even after 15 days of medication no improvement took place. Then she was referred to neurologist.

I have for four years trying to get a diagnosis for my father and have been unsuccessful so far. One movement disorder specailist diagnosed him with Multiple System Atrophy because he did not respond to the parkinson's medicine and his heart rate was high. Another specailist disagreed and thought he might have catatonia because this all happened 4 yrs ago when my mother passed.

Re my inquiry March 19th regarding a75 year old female whose head bobbed almost constantly at times, you replied it might indicate Parkinson's Disease and asked if there were any other symtons such as trembling of the hands. Trembling of the hands is not really noticeable but I did observe when she was holding a sheet of paper a slight movement.
How many of you ladies are still taking zofran? My morning sickness is terrible. I'm 15 weeks and I throw up at least 5 times a day unless I take zofran and I've tried everything else and nothing works. But I know my doctor like personally and she assured me that it was safe and if it were her she would take it. I've lost about 30 pounds and only gained back 7 so she's worried about my weight. And I've lost it because of nausea. So how many Andre still taking it?
