I looked at Zithromax side effects, they vary by the dosage, single or multiple doses, doses in combination with another drug, and are listed as pre-marketing trials and post-marketing reports. Rhythm issues were reported less than 1% of the time in pre-marketing trials, and also in post-marketing reports. Post marketing reports are apparently voluntary and often include things clearly not related to the drug.

I took it at about 6pm and half way through the night, my neck (sternocleidomastoid near where it connects to my head) was very sore and swollen, my glands dont seem swollen though. Also felt sinus congestion and all around lousy. I have felt this way for over 60hours. Is this a side effect of Azithromycin? Does anyone have any other info for what might cause this?

Has anyone had the unfortunate side effects form Zithromax that causes heart racing and palpitations and did they go away on their own or require treatment.

On your expertise, please advise me whether this could be potential side effects or a cold or flu I got from somewhere? It is side effects, when will I feel better? I'm so scared now because I might hace caught other STD, like HIV, and I didn't know. Today, diarrhea is gone. Thank you!

They gave you Zithromax for NGU?! I took 1.5g of Zithromax about two weeks after catching my NGU/NSU and I still have urethritis... Even after 12 days of Doxycycline it still hurts. The 'D-Mannose' supplement I started a day and a half ago seems to be helping, but everytime I think it's getting better, it comes right back. It's a b'as't'ard. Maybe if I think it will get horribler and I will die soon, THEN it will magically go away.

I was treated last Tuesday with Rociphen and Zithromax, and a small round of Cipro, for Gonnorhea, Clamydia infection. The day after and still today I get short kind of spasm cramps in my reproductive organ region, sort of like menstrual cramps. They are sporadic maybe two a day, could this be from the meds? I also noticed right after treatment I get a small pinch in my urethra, randomly, the nurse said more fluids??

anyone else have side effects AFTER STOPPING augmentin after the full 10 day dose? I have been off for two days and have awful sweating and hot flashes. I am male, and in relatively good shape. bp has been in the 140/70 range for three days. odd stuff. Ive usually had plain ole amoxicillin, but this stuff takes the cake.

i was treated for chlamydia a week ago, give zithromax, still waiting for the test. but 3 days later my right testicle was sore, a week later i was getting clear sticky penile discharge after urination, but more so after a bowel movement. there is not a lot, and it looks like precum i'm worried the zithromax didn't work and i still have something. can i take pills too soon after sex? i took them the day after intercourse do yu think it could be a prostate problem?

Be sure that you are not allergic to either drug and look up the product characteristics on the net so you fully understand the side effects etc before you take them. As I say, this is plan B. Plan A would be see an experienced STD doctor. I would not take any more zithromax. Zithromax, whilst not a first line treatment for gonorrhoea does have pretty good efficacy against it.

Well, when I read the packet that came with it, it said that some of its severe side effects were optic neuritis, and also neuropathy. It also warned that people with "debilitating" illlness shouldn't take this drug. So what does that mean, lol?? Does MS count? I'm not taking it...BUT, I have agreement with my neuro that I probably don't have a UTI (my urologist prescribed the antibiotics, the whole thing is a long story).

I just finished a 5 day z pack that was prescribed for a sinus infection that was giving me severe headaches. My heart started to feel funny and I looked at the insert which said could cause irregular hearbeats. I've taken this medication in the past with no issue. I do not have any cardiac disease but I do smoke, should I just wait for about 5 days to see if once the meds are out of my system I'm ok, or should I go see a doctor or go to the ER?

I was prescribed 2 Grams of Zithromax and wondered if I could split it up over 2 days instead of taking the full 8 pills at once. I'm afraid of the upset stomach and diarrhea . Just wondering if I cansplit up the dosage and get the same results?

t been able to confirm. As a result, I went to a pharmacy and got a 10-pack of 500mg Cipro and a 3 pack of 500mg Zipro. I took 1000mg of Cipro and 1000mg of Zipro yesterday and another 500mg of each today. Have a I taken enough of these drugs to kill both bacterial infections, and if so, how long should it take to clear up an infection if I do indeed have one?

My Gf was diagnosed with mild NGU, and the clinic gave her 9 250 mg pills of Zithromax to give to me. But, she lost the paperwork for how to administer this. I am told and have read that Zithromax can and often does make people sick to their stomach and throw up -- particularly in a 2g dose. Is there anything that can prevent this? What about a half cup of milk or a little food such as a slice of bread?

I have a cold with a bad sore throat and am taking Zithromax and Promethazine with Codeine. Ditto bob's comments about why your doc would do the on-again-off-again approach -- you might ask the doc about modifying the meds, since they are pushing you too far too fast, it seems. Be sure the doc understands the magnitude of the side effects ... some docs don't realize there are patients who really don't exaggerate the side effects, so speak up and make sure he gets the point. If he won't listen, then consider finding another doc.

Are any of you taking theophylline for your asthma? If so, have you had a lot of side effects from it? My doc is considering trying this, just looking for people's experience.

At some point (and you may well be there at this time), it is appropriate to accept recurrent, previously treated NGU as the nuisance it is and to not pursue further evaluation and therapy which is costly and creates the risk of complications due to medication side effects and additional costs. In most cases the process gradually goes away on its own.

I was on some of the same meds you are about to start, and they worked really well and I had very few side effects. I hope the same for you!

I stopped taking prescription medications for my anxiety/depression/panic attacks as the side effects were handing me all sorts of extra problems and I felt like I was being flooded with too many toxins and chemicals from them. In the end, the meds never cure the problem anyways.

4 days later My wife and I took 1g of zithro each and now it is 7 days after the zithro and I have pink eye but my burning pee is gone and no urethra pain. I also got tested 4 days after the zithro for chlamydia/gonorrhea and both came back negative. The pinkeye started 3 days ago which was 4 days into the Zithromax. I never hat a cut like embrasion on my penis so I'm not worried about herpes but I would like to know if I can have sex without giving anything to anyone?
