Common Questions and Answers about Zithromax for kids side effects

zithromax

5268376 tn?1406179712 I looked at Zithromax side effects, they vary by the dosage, single or multiple doses, doses in combination with another drug, and are listed as pre-marketing trials and post-marketing reports. Rhythm issues were reported less than 1% of the time in pre-marketing trials, and also in post-marketing reports. Post marketing reports are apparently voluntary and often include things clearly not related to the drug.
Avatar n tn Also felt sinus congestion and all around lousy. I have felt this way for over 60hours. Is this a side effect of Azithromycin? Does anyone have any other info for what might cause this?
Avatar n tn Has anyone had the unfortunate side effects form Zithromax that causes heart racing and palpitations and did they go away on their own or require treatment.
Avatar m tn They gave you Zithromax for NGU?! I took 1.5g of Zithromax about two weeks after catching my NGU/NSU and I still have urethritis... Even after 12 days of Doxycycline it still hurts. The 'D-Mannose' supplement I started a day and a half ago seems to be helping, but everytime I think it's getting better, it comes right back. It's a b'as't'ard. Maybe if I think it will get horribler and I will die soon, THEN it will magically go away.
Avatar f tn If you have questions about side effects, contact your health care provider. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects. To report side effects to the appropriate agency, please read the Guide to Reporting Problems to FDA.
Avatar f tn On your expertise, please advise me whether this could be potential side effects or a cold or flu I got from somewhere? It is side effects, when will I feel better? I'm so scared now because I might hace caught other STD, like HIV, and I didn't know. Today, diarrhea is gone. Thank you!
Avatar f tn different meds have different side effects for people.
Avatar n tn Welcome to the forum. Azithromycin in a single dose of 2 g is one of the back-up recommendations for gonorrhea treatment, if the treatments of choice (e.g. ceftriaxone, cefixime) are not available or if the infected person may be allergic to them. It is very reliable and has the advantage of also being effective against chlamydia -- which actually requires only a 1 g dose. Except for rare allergic reactions, the only side effect of azithromycin is gastrointestinal intolerance.
Avatar m tn As for the side effects file a drug reaction form at the FDA site. There are many different reactions to what are similar antibiotics. For example many people tolerate Cipro, a fluoroqinalone and cannot tolerate Levaquin, a similarly structed antibiotic.
645800 tn?1466860955 As I posted yesterday my new PCP gave me an Rx for an anti-biotic. The rx was for Sulfamethoxazole / Trimethoprim 800/160. I always check out drugs on the internet before taking any. So this morning after going to Walgreens to check it out my first thought was "IS SHE TRYING TO KILL ME"? The list of side effect and signs of allergic reaction almost match my normal state of health issues.
Avatar n tn Could he have learned the behavior from the older child, how does she behave with him ?
Avatar n tn i was treated for chlamydia a week ago, give zithromax, still waiting for the test. but 3 days later my right testicle was sore, a week later i was getting clear sticky penile discharge after urination, but more so after a bowel movement. there is not a lot, and it looks like precum i'm worried the zithromax didn't work and i still have something. can i take pills too soon after sex? i took them the day after intercourse do yu think it could be a prostate problem?
Avatar m tn In England we only give a single gram of zithromax for chlamydia as that is considered more thsan enough to kill the offending organism. 2 grams is really overkill in my opinion and it is more likely to give you antibiotic side effects such as diarrhoea. I would definately say that if it is chlamydia you are treating, 1 gram is enough and certainly taking it over two days would be fine.
700212 tn?1240760820 these last couple days Ive started having a sensitivity to sunlight issue....I took my kids to the park for an hour and I felt like I was sun burnt and I was wearing 50 proof sunblock...when I touch my skin it feels like I have a bad sun burn and I started to get a heat rash.....my eyes feel like someone threw sand in them and overall I just feel like ****...is this something I should bring up to my doc?...or is it just normal stuff with the riba...
Avatar m tn Since then we found out that Risperidone is know for side effects such as tardive dyskinesia. We are seriously concerned now. Will this be permanent ? What is the best way to examine this problem ? Thanks for any suggestions !
Avatar f tn i am a memeber of a social group for kids with aspergers, a few months ago a few of the mothers were talking about their children taking clonidine the moms noticed favorable results, i am familiar with this drug, i did not know that developmental pediatric doctors, are now putting aspie kids on clonidine, how do you feel about this?
Avatar m tn I was thinking on your lines as you believe use of anti virlas in a n effort to cure HBV make other damages/side effects and using your own immune system to fight against the virus. Likewise vaccination in cases where the risk is very low or rare, is it really worth it? I mean you are inserting dead viruses in the body artificially!
Avatar n tn I recommend sticking to the recommended dose to prevent side effects. But I strongly urge you to go in for exam as good follow up is best. Take care.
Avatar f tn He was on Benadryl and Motrin for days. Not enough for it to be deemed dangerous but enough that his ped said next booster we will split up the shots and avoid the pertussis.
Avatar m tn I am told and have read that Zithromax can and often does make people sick to their stomach and throw up -- particularly in a 2g dose. Is there anything that can prevent this? What about a half cup of milk or a little food such as a slice of bread?
