last thursday I had taken a zelnorm because i had not had a bowel movement in about a week. since I have not stopped using the bathroom, all day and throughout the night, if i eat or drink anything I have to run to the bathroom within minutes and I have pains and bloatiness in my stomache. this has never happened before when I take the medication. I am afraid to leave the house and I have lost 5 lbs. any suggestions?
I am wondering if someone can tell me of some different meds that IBS patients use or things I can do to elevate the pain, or stop it from happening at all

ve had IBS with constipation for over 15 years. Before Zelnorm was removed from the market, THATS when the straining REALLY started. My parents & grandparents say I was practically born constipated. So back to my question, is there a chance the strokes came from my bathroom troubles. Any ideas?

Gulf war syndrome, spending time at places like Perris Island, getting 18 vaccines in one day, sometimes twice in a a few years, has led two lawsuits from MS and focal neuropathy patients who were diagnoed soon after these events. It raised eyebrows for me when I discovered that the cmpany that makes several of the disease modifying drugs are the same companies that made the vaccines the Army used during the years in question.
Eryththromyacin is one drug used for it but i am taking Zelnorm a prescription drug. It can have serious effects on me as with the slowed digestion i sometimes go low after eating when i shouldn't. But any GI doctor should be familiar with the disease.
It was latered blamed on the recalled medication, Zelnorm which I had been on for few years. I also suffer from fybromyalgia. Lately I've been experiencing intense pain from my neck and shoulders, including feet, ankles, legs, knees, and joints. Including between shoulder blades. All exacerbated by over extending myself. I'm also under a huge amount of stress due to a very ill 89 year old Mama 600 miles away, making travel a MUST!
I feel chained to the bathroom and of course never clean. Zelnorm was the beat solution and worked really well but then was taken off the market. What can I do to resolve this ever increasing problem?
I have recently have been diagnosed with Diabetic enteropathy of the colon and my Gastroenterologist has prescribed Zelnorm for this condition.Has this medication been effective in treating Diabetic enteropathy snd what are the gratest side effects? Thank you.

I just watched "under our skin", a documentary on Lyme's disease. I bring it up because it's considered a political disease, as much as CM or CFS. IBS is not a disease at all, and there's no drugs for IBS, as I know (my opinion). Zelnorm was even withdrawn from the (U.S.) market last year, now it might be back again.
The use of the antipsychotic medication Seroquel has been linked to an increased risk of diabetes, pancreatitis and death. Thousands of Seroquel lawsuits have been filed throughout the United States by individuals who suffered severe and life threatening injuries.
A number of separate lawsuits are now being investigated against the Endoscopy Center of Southern Nevada. One group of lawsuits would involve patients who tested positive for blood diseases after receiving treatment at the center. The other is a class action lawsuit filed on behalf of patients who tested negative for those diseases. This lawsuit would focus on the cost of medical testing and the emotional toll that being tested for such diseases causes.
