Common Questions and Answers about Yogurt carb count

Avatar f tn I eat Greek yogurt all the time and I'm 37 weeks with a healthy baby boy. I've never heard that Greek yogurt is bad during pregnancy, I've heard the opposite that it's really good for you and baby during pregnancy.
Avatar n tn I do the same. Greek yogurt (my doc insists that I eat some yogurt daily so I do - unflavored, and I add almonds and high fiber cereal to it, so no sugar except what is in the milk), hard boiled eggs, small quantities of nuts or pumpkin seeds (I pour into small/tiny bowl to control portion), and cheeses (again, control portion, low fat stuff). I like low carb tortillas for sandwiches - so I can add more protein with less carb.
Avatar n tn You could blitz soft fruit with yogurt, that way you get all the fibre as well as the juice and protein from the yogurt. You can buy zero fat natural yogurt and the Greek style ones are great. If you juice your veg, by extracting the juice and throwing away the fibre, that is not good. Better to blitz the whole carrot, or better still make soup and add some lentils, all sorts of veg and bits of lean chicken or lean spare ribs. Yummy.
Avatar m tn You need to be sure you are using the right Insulin Carb ratio for your doses before meals and that you have an accurate carb count. Calorieking.com is a good resource for carb listings in addition to what's on packages (and be sure to correctly measure servings). In order to gain weight you want to increase your protein and fats so that you can gain weight without increasing carbs.
594189 tn?1386916607 Is 100% whole wheat bread a simple carb? Is milk a simple carb? or is it only white bread and pasta's?
Avatar f tn Eating healthy, drinking lots of water, and wearing breathable(preferably cotton) underwear helps. I've never heard of using Greek yogurt, always been told plain, unflavored yogurt, so that may make a difference, but I'm not sure. Watch your carb and sweets intake. Check with the doc for sure. He may rather just prescribe you something instead of trying to take care of it yourself.

Avatar f tn They just suggested it because your more glucose sensitive in the morning, so they suggest not doing fruit at breakfast. And there is a carb count you should be following for meal and snack times. I got all my information from a registered dietician; I also have my bachelor's in nutrition. I Knew before hand that there was a carb count just couldn't remember the numbers. The suggest for breakfast and snack time to stay between 15 and 30 grams of carbs.
Avatar f tn I got diagnosed with gd. The nurse said start your day with protein, but also 45g of carbs. Eggs, meat, yogurt, etc. No bagels, waffles, pancakes before noon. Diet drinks or water. Fruits with skin. I have a whole list of do's & don't's.
1533382 tn?1357962152 I'm 31weeks 3 days pregnant and last week I found out I have gestational diabetes. I've been on a 'carb counting' diet ever since and have to check my sugar levels 4 times a day keeping it in a certain range. I've noticed over my week of this diet that anything that's actually a full meal, be it mostly protein and no carbs or under my carb limits spikes my levels.
1301482 tn?1325722991 Who has done a low carb diet that worked well? Can you give me any tips for low carb snacks/meals?
Avatar f tn 15 grams of carbohydrates is equal to 1 carb count. Try to limit your carbs to 4 carbs or 60 grams per meal. And 2 carbs per snack. There are very good charts available online to help you guage the carbohydrates in fresh foods as well. Also try to eat at the same times daily. This will help keep your sugar levels stable and keep from putting a demand on your pancreas from binging because you skip meals or go long periods between eating.
Avatar n tn I do eat low carb. However, if you use insulin you need to be, aware that some carb foods digest more quickly than others, which may affect insulin dosing.
10570408 tn?1412078257 I am sorry to hear that. Try and cut down on your intake of red meat and processed food as well. Replace them with fresh fruits and vegetables. If it still fails to get your weight shifting, try Liproxenol max. It was very effective for me.
