(Or take a class.........most experienced Yoga instructors know and understand about "anxious breathing!") Avatar f tn and have bouts of depression (usually last 3-5 days every 2-3 months). I take xanax as needed and for flying (I hate flying! The anxiety prior to a trip is exhausting...and I have to fly back east at least once a year to visit my inlaws). Years ago I took Buspar, which seemed to work...but I really am trying to avoid all meds. I've done acupuncture and that helps, just not completely. Looking for any tips/suggestions on how to over come all of this before I completely lose it!

To stop this you can develop a habit of relacing in the following manner. wnen you get anxiuos,tighten ,takea a deep breath and tighten your whole body and Put your tongue on the floor or roof of your mout.(This helps in tightening the body.) Then smile and relax completly.This you can do 50 times a day.

I am sure you will get good result.This is bested on yogic practice.try.

I felt like I was finally doing okay until a few days ago the chest pain came back and it's so scary. I know my heart it fine after so many tests, but I'm flying across the country tomorrow and I think it's why I feel so sick. Chest pain, shortness of breath -- has anyone else experienced this?

I'm going to try her methods starting wednesday (my grocery shopping day) and really try to stick to her plan to see how well it works. I highly recommend this read to anyone with thyroid issues!

Also, it's extremely difficult for me to concentrate on something. It's very unlikely of me to finish most things that I start, especially when it comes to reading. I need many breaks in order to finish reading a book or an article. I am not sure if this is a cognitive or mental health issue.

I underwent surgery for a retinal detachment on my left eye in September 2010, which was unsuccessful, and actually made the sight much worse. I had a second and then a third surgery in February 2011 which successfully re-attached the retina, albeit with severe sight loss owing to scarring. I have been told I am at high risk of redetachment.

This time round, I anticipate my fear of flights will go crazy because I will be going on an OLD aircraft (A340 model, possibly around 20 years old plane!) So how am I to stop this fear? Can i take Xanax? I checked with my insurance provider, and they say I can claim for Xanax, so looks like I can get a psychiatrist to dispense some for me.
