Avatar m tn Further, localized yeast or other fungal infections -- of the penis or anywhere else -- are not a sign of HIV. Such things occur all the time in perfectly healthy people. Your other symptoms (sore throat, runny nose, etc) almost certainly are exactly what they sound like: you caught a cold. And you had a negative HIV test. I can't tell exactly how long after the new sexual contact you were tested, but Lizzie Lou (on the HIV community forum) calculated it as about a month.
Avatar f tn I took one benedryl last night and then today I woke up with a sore throat. I am pretty sure it is from drainage because one of my ears hurts too! Anyone know anything I can take over the counter for it? Any help would be great! Don't want to get on antibotics again because just got off some a couple of weeks ago and then got a yeast infection!! I have been sick off and on with this pregnancy and really don't know why!
Avatar n tn Men can get yeast infections but show no signs of it. It is usually the woman who becomes the victim of this. Everytime my husband takes antibiotics, he gives me a yeast. And everytime I take certain antibiotics, I get it too. The doctor tells us that using Lamisil for jock itch is an anti fungal and can be used by my husband to treat it. while I use the pill and monostat. but we cant have any sex whatsoever until we are both treated completely.
Avatar n tn I came down with a sore throat, swollen glands, white discharge in the back of the throat as well as sweats and it closed up my throat. I was scared to death I had contracted HIV. Over the next 10 months I had 3 HIV tests and at 10 months had my last test which was still negative (ELISA) and PCR RNA test at 6 weeks which was negative. I stupidly did this while with the same person who I am still with.
Avatar f tn Your vagina should have a smell though, and you should become familiar with the normal smell so that you can tell in the future if it changes. Bacterial vaginosis and yeast infections can arise spontaneously, without sexual activity being involved. Did you check for a tampon? I know it's gross, but if that's your problem it should be an easy fix. You can put gloves on if you're really grossed out by the idea.
3242115 tn?1447004766 The yeast infection is from the antibiotics. You need to call the doctor and report what is going on. Your kidneys are very important and you can't mess around. Once you are done with antibiotics, you can take a probiotic to get your bacterial flora back to normal. You can use a cream to control symptoms now.
Avatar n tn but the two spots he said look yeasty plus i have a sore throat on the left side only could repeated yeast infections n sore throat be signs of hiv? this my second yeast infection in a month n my 3rd infection down there!!
Avatar n tn I was recently studying abroad for three months and began having problems with severe yeast infections. Over the course of the three months I had four or five and the symptoms were very severe. Some of my other friends there had them too and they just itched, while I hurt. The last one I had started occurring a few days after my boyfriend and I had (unprotected) sex - which was slightly painful because the last one had never really gone away.
Avatar f tn My nurse practitioner said there are 4 types of yeast and that the usual meds only treat the most common 2 types so she did a swab test to find out what type of yeast it is. I find out Thursday so I'll keep you posted.
Avatar f tn I was having servere pain in my middle back in the right side so at 1 am on the 5th I went to the er at that point was 22 weeks and 4 days they admitted me into labor and delivery where they found out the pain was due to a kidney infection they kept me on an IV with antibiotics until I was discharged this morning they sent me home with more antibiotics to take to finish fighting the infection but since I got home this morning my vagina has been kinda itchy when I itch it it hurts could that be a
Avatar f tn My doctor told me cause of the high levels of hormones we reproduce can be the cause of this happening
Avatar f tn What is the safest thing to take for yeast or bacteria infection while pregnant
Avatar f tn Thanks for the kind words, but everybody here is pretty positive -- it's one of the best things about this site. It's hard to keep the calories up to a reasonable level when eating like I have been. I cook with olive oil, and I even take an extra spoonful most days, because it's antifungal. That adds some calories right there. The eggs and chicken and fish add fat calories too, and that helps keep the energy level up.
Avatar m tn Besides this Group B Streptococcus, mycoplasma, neisseria and cornybacterium are known to cause throat infections. Other known pathogens causing infections of the throat are viral and yeast (candida). To begin with a throat swab is taken to see for streptococcus. If needed a throat culture will show the growth and the antibiotics to which the pathogens are most susceptible to. During culture it would be worthwhile to test for yeast infections also besides bacterial infections.
Avatar f tn The only connection I could see is if you have sex without a condom, you could end up with more infections, and if taking the pill means you have sex more often you could end up with yeast infections, which sometimes are caused by sexual intercourse. But I don't know of any mechanism by which the pill by itself would cause bacterial or yeast infections.
Avatar n tn I just googled this for you and I hope it helps Michelle The Group A beta hemolytic Streptococcus germ causes numerous infections, chiefly of the respiratory tract, but also involving other organ systems, chiefly the skin and lungs. The throat infections themselves are rarely serious and ordinarily, like most repiratory infections, are handled by the immune system without too much difficulty.
Avatar m tn Recurrent urinary tract infections should have alerted your doctors to the possibility of havng diabetes (it's a common symptom of diabetes), especially since they happened after having too much sugar. Recurrent yeast infections (skin, vaginal, urinary) are also common in diabetics. I would get tested for diabetes. Because you may be taking care of the symptoms rather than the problem. Regarding the sugar issue....yeast thrives with moisture and with sugar.
1168718 tn?1464983535 From what I have learnt, all yeast infections begin in the gut, so to get to the root cause of the problem you need to take a pro-biotic to redress the imbalance. I tried this once and, lo and behold , it WORKED! So while smearing cream on your nether regions may seem logical, it doesn't fix the root of the problem. Fix the gut, and the rest will sort itself out.
Avatar f tn Seven months ago my boyfriend and I began having sex, and about two weeks later I started my period but noticed that I was having major pain and itching internally and externally towards the end of my period. I went to the OB/GYN and I did have a yeast infection for the first time ever. I wasn't on any birth control, nor taking any antibiotics, not pregnant, and the pap came back normal with no diseases.
Avatar f tn I am so sick of the yeast infections, Ill try anything!! And dont flip out theyre so normal in women.
Avatar n tn You should also give your husband a good probiotic and help him really keep his sugar in check. The less yeast he has the less yeast you will have. Also, I find that during the week before my period starts I am much more prone to yeast infections and of course if I eat a lot of sugar or drink several glasses (sometimes just 1) of wine. It takes a lot of monitoring! Good luck!
Avatar n tn I'd rather use the creams. I'm currently battling an external yeast infection that has affected the top of my inner thighs (where the leg and vulva meet), my vulva and it's creases, lower abdomen and the very bottom of my butt. Also, near my vaginal opening I scratched myself too hard so there's scratches and it burns like a mother when I pee and the urine flows downward onto it. I am on the larger side of the body size scale (about 5'6 and over 300lbs).
Avatar n tn t happen all the times but most times when I am dry. I am 32 years old and he is 49 I have went to the doctor and I keep getting yeast infections. I use the over the counter meds fr it and sometimes the doctor prescribes me creams but it keeps coming back. Is it coming back because I gave it to him and he brings it back to me each time? He is a diabetic and is uncircumcized but he is very clean and has good hygienes in that department.
869578 tn?1239645299 is the birth control the cause of the yeast infections? sometimes there is an itch and my discharge is usually white/clear. lately there has been an odor but i don't know how to deal with it. i have also taken monistat several times and it usually works. should i continue? i have one sex partner and we use condoms every time. could the lubrication of the condoms cause yeast infections too?
Avatar f tn I did... my first pregnancy i had a lot of yeast infections... they gave me the cream for seven days and also the pill but that was only for one day..
Avatar f tn m in my first trimester and pregnancy is already making me experience the wonderful world of yeast infections. I went to the doctor to make sure it is indeed a yeast infection and it is. He didn't prescribe me anything because he said it's too early and to wait until the second trimester, but I've heard of natural remedies, such as the garlic clove in the vagina that cures yeast infections. Has anyone tried this during pregnancy? Is it safe?
