Monistat works like a charm for yeast infections! That's what my doctor told me I could take. Just over the counter. He recommended the 7-day treatment. Baby is protected by the bubble she's in, so the medication does not get to him/her. Perfectly safe! Unless as previously said, you have any other complications. I would talk to your doctor before you do anything. And like they said, anti biotics are needed for a bacterial infection. Good luck!
You have a UTI (Urinary Tract Infection), yet you want to use Monistat 7? Monistat is for yeast infections, where the bacteria/yeast balance in the vagina has become diarupted and yeast has overgrown. If you have a UTI, that is a bacterial overgrowth in your urethra/bladder. Sometimes after treating a UTI with antibiotics, it can sometimes overkill the good bacteria and then cause a Yeast infection, and thus later warrant a need for Monistat.
I have been to the doctor several times with urinary tract infections. I was hospitalized a year ago with kidney stones, kidney infection, urinary tract infection, and an infected gallbladder that had to be extracted. I cannot seem to get rid of the urinary tract infections as I have had treatment 7 times now within one year. I drink the pure cranberry juice as I have heard it helps fight off and prevent UTI's. Nothing seems to work.

mbn1454 - I am a 25 yo female, I too get recurring UTI's and yeast infections. Whether or not you use protection - your gf should always pee after sex, immediately. In my experience there is no way to figure out exactly how UTI's are caused (yeast infections are caused when there is an imbalance of yeast and good bacteria in the vagina). My mother gets recurring UTI's as well - it may be genetic.

I am diabetic and I am prone to yeast infections so I had to ask in case. They told me pro b for prevention and Monistat 1 not the 1 day but 3 or 7 and do not insert more than an inch. I hope this helps.

If so, This will be my 3rd yeast infection in about a month. First time it was a yeast infection and BV. Doctor believes the 2nd yeast infection came from the antibiotic for BV. I have been having complications with yeast infections, someone suggested taking a natural supplemental probiotic, since I can't stomach yogurt, has anyone ever done so while pregnant? I've read online and can't seem to get a straight answer.
Latly i been getting a lot of yeast infections i never had them before ....when my doctor gave me medicine it was a one day pill i had relief for two days then it came back so i baught a three day treatment from walgreens and its worked for a week or so and now.
