It's not only bad for you and the baby but it is also very uncomfortable to live with for the rest of your pregnancy if you don't get it treat it and under control. Also, while giving birth...if you happen to have a yeast infection your baby can develop something called "thrush", which is no less than a yeast infection on the baby's cheeks and mouth! I would definitely trust your doctor, he's not going to prescribe something that will hurt your baby or put you at risk.
I have never heard of a yeast infection being linked to preterm labour, but I am not a Dr. either so I certainly don't know that for sure. I do know you shouldn't just ignore it, nor should you try to treat it yourself with an over the counter remedy. You should see your Dr. I don't know it this applied to yeast infections, but I do know that small issues can be bigger problems during pregnancy and your Dr. is the best person to diagnose and treat you appropriately.

And my doc recommend doing the 3 or 7 day dosage. She said the one day dosage sometimes isn't strong enough or gets rid of it even though it's supposed to be. You might want to check about "thrush" or "Candidis" which is a yeast infection that you might have in your mouth and throat. This is not uncommon in diabetics.

Said she went to the doctor on October 10th for what she thought was a yeast infection and it turned out to be an STD. Said she had never had a yeast infection before in her life. She's 28.... I have had a reoccurring infection after a root canal over the past two years. Now my hands & feet are swelling up and showing arthritis like symptoms. Very painful.
