ive been on yaz for almost 3 years and in the last year i have been sick every month for five months right before my period with gastroenteritis which is vomiting for 2 hours with diarrhea and being very dizzy . i also have very bad mood swings anger irritation very easily, cry for no reason and more, not really sure what to do because my doctor hasnt really suggested i go of of it?
What I found interesting, was that after looking at my favorite top 5, increase and decrease in libido was not even mentioned although they were quick to note side effects such as depression, vaginal dryness and legathy.
Even the official website for Arimidex itself and the "largest known site for the most comprehensive list of side effects" doesn't touch libido...at all.

However, women taking this medication tell a different story.
s on has a supression of menstration side effects or it could supress the production of estrogen, or even the thyroid could be effected because it can control libido/ in concern of the sexdrive, and it could be both. I'd consult the pharmacist or a physicians desk reference for implications of the medication and known side effects. I've found research always helps.
for me, one with either none of my most hated side effects, or very moderate side effects. Here is a little history of each one I've tried already:
First, Ortho-Novum 7/7/7-- Started about half a year ago. Started taking it, had bad vomiting and nausea, but nonetheless was my first time with birth controll pills. Over time, my sex drive/libido was totally diminished, and I was developing minor crabbiness.
Second-- Yaz.
I would first think of the side effects belonging to the birth control. Birth control directly affects your hormones, which would play a role into libido and mood. It's true that in having one ovary removed the other takes over in production of hormones and in the hormone cycle. Generally the only side effect is that only one egg is released every other month, which will effect the way you try to conceive.
Which birth control pill would you reccommend that has less likely hood of causing reduced libido? I tried the Yaz pill and had to go off it after 6 days because I had no desire what so ever for having sex as well as other problems with it. Please help this is a big part of our relationship. Not the major one but a very big part and I can't stand the loss of thiis feeling.
Many AD's have side effects that affect the libido, guess it applies to both sex es. As far as I know all AD's have this drastic effect . Hopefully you'll find one that's OK for you . Good luck.
All meds come with side effects. It's wonderful that we have them to help us but we could sure do with those side effects. Wellbutrin is different from Effexor, it's a stimulating med. I took Effexor myself and was sleeping way too much just like you. I think that's why your Dr prescribed the Wellbutrin, to give you more energy.
Are you only taking the Ativan once a day? If your still feeling agitated and irritable at this dose don't be afraid to tell your Dr.
However, I recently read that studies have shown that, although less common than with SSRI antidepressants, Wellbutrin can cause sexual side effects, such as decreased libido and impotence. I would like to know if anyone else on Wellbutrin had these symptoms? Will these symptoms subside? My depression is getting better, but these sexual problems are starting to take a toll on my self-esteem.
Any advice or help will be greatly appreciated.
it may be the yaz... i was takin yaz and it kicked my butt.. i had to be takin off of it.. my mood swings and stuff were uncontrolable. if i were you i would check with your doc but alot of what your goin through sounds like me when i was on yaz... i have never taken meds for depression but while on yaz the dr said i might need it.. once i quit takn the yaz i was alot better and i mean alot..
I'm on YAZ, and so is my roommate, and we both have trouble with being dry. I actually had to buy lube because it was such an issue. I only switched from Seasonele because of the money, but I'm thinking of going back because of the Yaz side effects. I didnt have any on Seasonele, and I found out that its the same thing as Seasonique (except Seasonique has hormones in the "placebo" pills) and Seasonique is covered by a state program... hopefully everything will work out!

m already feeling the side effects like dizziness, irritated mood, lack of libido and it is taking long to get an erection. I have a high libido by default but I'm not feeling it anymore this morning. I read pregabalin causes this. Is this permanent? I'm only 21...
I also read it causes brain tumor - that's scary... and I read I must not stop this medicine unless doctor says. So I'm kinda trapped here and I don't want to loose my libido.
hey my sister took yaz for 3 months and she had bad side effects, unable to get out of the bed due to having very bad stomach pains that pepto bismo would only ease the pain for a few minutes. she had to get several tests done because of all the pain she was in, she is currently going through a lawsuit with yaz because of what it has done to her.
I used both, and found that side effects are similar; tiredness, weight gain, and a slow pulse. Side effects are more pronounced as the dosage is increased. I had dosages from 25mg to 200mg. daily. Other reported effects are loss of libido, tightness in the chest, itching, irregular breathing, and irregular heartbeat. If you have any further questions, I'd be happy to respond based on my experience with the drug.
