For the past two months, a week after my period, I have been getting brown spotting. The night before the spotting occurs I get headaches and feel sick. I take my birth control (YAZ) as directed and I have been on it for about a year and a half. The spooting only last about a day or two, but I have never had it do this before. Is this normal? I have heard a lot of bad stuff about Yaz also, should I change birth control?

t know where in the world you live and will presume you are in USA. Here in Australia it cost me around $300 per treatment. I had two treatments done about 6 weeks apart You can't have it done sooner, it takes that long for the veins to collapse. The stockings are extremely expensive too, over $125 a pair. I don't know how much they would be in USA. I can't recommend anyone unless you live in Melbourne, Australia! Cheers!

If you asking on behalf of a female contemplating the use of the contraceptive product called YAZ or already using YAZ, please tell her that YAZ has been found to be a questionable product for birth control. By questionable , this is what I mean. I have seen commercials where lawyers are telling women who have used YAZ and have suffered severe side effects from using YAZ that they are entitled to a settlement. Hi, Im sixteen years old. Im perscribed to Prozac and YAZ. Ive been on Prozac for more than a year and YAZ since the summer of '09. Every since I started the YAZ back pains grew horrible. I started taking the YAZ because my OBGYN thinks I have indometriosis. For the past two months I have to be wearing a pad because I cant stop bleeding. I feel like Im sixty years old. My bones are week. I cant breath. My feet randomly go numb. When Im on the pink pill durng the month.

I was on yaz for a few years, and then I switched. The new pills made my period crazy, but yaz made it come the same time every month. However, yaz made my periods last longer, and I would bleed on and off for a week towards the end of using yaz.

I was on Junel 1/20 for a couple of years, then went on Yaz for a month last April (I was living in Germany and the doctor ok'd it, even with my questions about health concerns). After going off Yaz, I have never had my period again and hadn't had it before that since February. I (stupidly) did not really think it was an issue until right around Christmas when my mother said I should get it checked out.

I would stop taking Yaz definately! There is lots of bad things going on with Yaz it could be counteracting with the Prozac also..im surprised the Dr has not took you off! I hope we dont scare you more but you really need to do research on Yaz and give it to your parents and Dr! Good luck sweety and keep us updated please!

We had it done. Im in the u.s. and it took 2 weeks to get back. My insurance covered it.

You can now get it done in Australia but you will need to pay for it - cost about $2k and not covered by medicare or private healthfund (if in Australia). the blood sample will be taken in Australia but will be shipped to Sequenom in San Diengo for testing as we do not have lab facility here yet. I have been on yaz for a year and I have noticed that since then I have been suffering from anxiety, panic attacks and depression. This is not like me at all and have even gone to the point of therapy. A major side effect of the pill is depression and I know this is what is causing this.
