yasmin vs other birth control

Hi my gyno put me of birth control pills to help get my ovaries producing hormones again and she said they would help releve some of the other symptoms...excess hair, acne etc. But I just started taking them two weeks ago and I feel sick to my stomach all the time, I feel exhausted tired....I am really over weight so that could be the cause of the tired feeling. But I just feel sick...has anyone else felt this way with these pills and are they really help full with treating symptoms??

Hello, I am 20 years old and I am in college, I started taking Yasmin birth control about 6 months ago. I have never been an overly-emotional or person nor have I ever dealt with depression. Depression doesn't run in my family either, overall I am a pretty happy-go-lucky girl. However, when I started taking Yasmin I noticed I would get extra emotional usually around my period, or I would get angry and snap for no reason. This is not how I normally act.

I am about to visit the gyno for the first time to start routine visits as well as get some sort of contraception/birth control. I was wondering as someone who has never taken any or had any, what would be the best kind to try first as a beginner? Thank you!

Im really tired of getting sick from birth control. Though its not every week like when I was on yasmin, nuva ring still makes me get sick every month and a half-ish. Im real close to going back to the crossed fingers over the crossed legs method. Worked for 5 months before!

Just wondering if anybody has taken syeda for birth control,and if you experienced any unwanted side effects.Nausea,weight loss/gain?My daughter is now taking this,and wanted to know about any side effects that anybody has experienced .

Ok so I started my cycle on the 19th after 5 months of not having one (PCOS) Anyways, when I was intially diagnosed about a yr or 2 ago doctor's prescribed me birth control but I never took it. I am now thinking of starting it to try to get myself regulated. The pill is Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo. Any ladies on it or have been on it? Any advice?

i started birth control with the nuva ring, but decided to switch to oral contraception after being uncomfortable with it, and reading about the nuva ring increasing the chance of blood clots more than any other birth control pill. after that i started yasmin and it did not help me whatsoever. if anything, it only made me worse. i gained weight, i was irritable all the time, depressed, and just wanted to eat and eat! i prefer Yaz over anything else.

Any comments? I am about to switch from alesse to yasmin but I am nervous because there have been many birth control pills that give me uncontrollable mood swings, anxiety and depression. Alesse has been okay for me, not the best, but ok. Does anyone else experience this when they take birth control pills? I think that it is related very closely to PCOS.

I just wanted to let you know that Yasmin is a very expensive birth control pill and they are not a very good form of it, due to problems Yasmin has encountered. As far as if you are safe I cannot say 100 % you are safe, but I can say that you are taking the right measures to prevent pregnancy ( other than abstinence ).

I was put on marvelon birth control after being on a few other kinds of birth control and ever since i had started using it, every time i would have sex the part just under the opening of my vagina (Perenium? I think) would get really swollen and made it too painful to have sex. I had googled possible symptoms and thought i had something similiar to vulvodynia or something like that.

I am so freaked out! i just began taking yasmin today (never taken birth control before). so just now i began doing my research on yasmin, and it seems that the side effects are crazy! i cant say anything because this is only my day. i know pills work differently for everyone but i am really quite scared. what should i do? anyone have any good stories about yasmin??

Hello, I am on Yasmin (birth control pills) for five years, so I wanted to write to you, maybe I will help in some way. I am using them in oreder to help with endometriosis and polycystic ovary. My periods were lighter the first few years with Yasmin, but after that there is no difference than regular periods; my periods are sometimes lighter, sometimes heavier... It depends.

I am on Yasmin birth control. I have been using it for a year now, should I still be ovulating? Or does Yasmin not stop the ovulation, but stop the sperm getting to the egg?

But I thought I would ask, is anyone that has PCOS symptoms (high testosterone, insulin resistance) and on BCP on any other BCP besides Yasmin, and does it control PCOS symptoms? Have you seen any side effects?

Any birth control pill, well any birth control that has hormones in it can cause blood clots. But they are normally only risk for those who have a family history of clots, or who have suffered from clots before. I've never been on Yaz and the only birth control pills I have ever taken was/is Yasmin. No they are not the same. Yasmin or Ocella is a lower dose of birth conrtol, while Yaz is prescribed more often to those who suffer from PMDD (Premenstrual dysphoric disorder).

I also am on Yasmin birth control due to menstrual issues, I am on Metformin due to insulin issues. I am wondering when the Armour will help and will it help be able to come off the two other medications. I do have adrenal problems and take Adrenogen, DHEA, fish oils and vitamin D for a vitamin D deficiency. I was told that Armour can help with alot of this, is that true?
