Your advice pls,
As I told u I visited a general physician without disclosing him STD exposure. Now after taking 3 days medicine proposed by him Atarax and Xyzal. Rather I m now observing general redness of skin on hands also.
Do you suggest visiting skin specialist or any other blood test ?
for 7 months i was on 40 - 50 mg of ultralan DAILY (it seemed to work better than Prednisone), 2 atarax tablets, 3-4 Xyzal (or zyrtec) daily. if i even tried to lessen the dose then my lips, tongue, eyes and throat would swell. the hives lessened but never fully went away. my weight ballooned and i was in a constant stupor and NOT HAPPY. oh noooo. eventually i started bi-weekly sessions of acupuncture which really really helped and finally i was off the medication.
None of the antihistamines helped her - her skin is very very itchy only during the nights - she sleeps only for 2 hrs though she takes atarax and xyzal - in the morning she sleeps well most of the time. We use dust mite covers and air purifier in the bedroom and avoid environmental allergens. Please advise on my daughter's situation - we still do not know the reason for her itchiness.
I have been on many type of antibiotics, use a saline rinse 2-3 times a day, take Nasonex, Astepro, Xyzal, Singulair and headache medicine. Some days are better than other but most days are constant pain, numbness, throbbing. A cat scan showed fluid in maxillary sinuses and some ethnoid sinusitus but my ENT surgeon shows no infection and is now considering a tubinate "snip" as he calls it to because my left turbinate is a bit large.
Do you still suffer from an itchy and runny nose ?
If not, maybe it is time to get off of the xyzal tablets , but you need your
doctor's permission and your doctor will tell you the safe way to gradually
get off of this medication. Otherwise, there will no doubt be side effects of withdrawing from this medication which you say you have been taking for five years. Another idea is to check out this website : www.drugs.com.

After 8 months of constant hives, lip swelling, eye swelling and finger swelling, i went to an allergist and got prescribed Xyzal. It worked great for the first 2 weeks and i was over joyed to have my life back! But the past few days, some hives have started to come back. I have been taking benadryl along with the xyzal as needed. I was wondering if I could take 2 xyzal a day instead o 1. The only other medication that I am on is ortho cyclin birth control.
usually what people do if slowly stop taking it (cutting down) but if this drug was prescribed to you , you have to go to the doctors and tell them you want to stop taking them and they will have someone observe you and will help you get off them the reason for this is because your body is used to having this and when stopped it can mess you up
I have been dealing with hives since 2000. All i have to do is be in the sun and i break out. I have tried Zyrtec, Allegra, Singular and now i'm on Xyzal. The Xyzal i only tried one time and woke up the next morning feeling like i was drunk and hit by a train. It left a horrible taste in my mouth. I am so sick of these hives. I'm getting married in August and have a terrible farmers tan and i am asking for any advice on what to do.
Has anyone taken Atarax 10mg? My Dr did not want to give me anymore Xanax so he prescribed me atarax. Kind of scared to take it. It's only to be taken as needed.
I don't have time to see a doctor, but I checked the side effects for Atarax and it includes tremors, which is weird because I'm supposed to be taking it to calm down. I stopped taking the Atarax and although I'm still twitchy, it's not as severe. The thing about Atarax is that I only have to take as needed, so by not taking it I don't think it's going to hurt me.
He said if itching goes away after four days of using the XYZAL, then I will try Niaspin and see how my body will react.
Now, after using XYZAL for two days, my body is still itching, there is no diffrence yet. I got two more pills of XYZAL. I'll wait two more days and I'll publish my comment about this medicine.

This morning I took my antihistamines (Allegra 180mg, Singulaire 10mg, Ranitidine 150 mg, Atarax 50mg), waited one hour and took my Tirosint. This past week the antihistamines haven't even touched my hives, they've just been spreading and getting worse all week. Within 2 hours, the itching stopped and it appears the hives are going away. The mistake I made previously when I started Tirosint was d/c'ing all my antihistamines.
t posted in a couple of weeks because I was feeling somewhat better. I started taking zoloft and atarax two weeks ago to help control my anxiety while I go through therapy. The meds were prescribed to me by my primary doctor and I have started seeing a psychologist to try and solve this anxiety issue. My questions are concerning the zoloft. My primary doc started me off at 25mg daily of zoloft and 25mg of atarax 4 times a day as needed.
I have anxiety and doctor took me off my anxiety medicine. Was on atarax 25 mg. Which i took 2 every night before bed. And took one through the day or if i woke up feeling anxious. Now i am on buspar 10 mg 3 times a day. Been taking for 5 days. I am waking up with extreme anxiety and ney able to take ny atarax to help myself calm down. When reading the info on atarax i wasn't convinced it was harmful. I was taking this up til i was 10 weeks. Baby measured perfect and heart rate was 168.
ENT said eustachian tube dysfunction due to allergies (tested positive for various inhalent allergies) and said to use Xyzal and Flonase. Xyzal made me too sleepy so stopped, and Flonase has done nothing. ENT said it would take Flonase a month to clear up the ETD. The constant ear popping wouldn't bother me if it weren't accompanied by the lightheadedness and brain fog, which sometimes by the end of the day turns into a very bad headache and then disappears.
I still get red flares and stripes but that does not bother me so much as it goed away after a while and my skin is not broken. Since the Atarax and the Rupatall also act as anxiety suppressant (Atarax is sedating, Rupatall is calming), I am starting to believe that in my case chronic stress over the years has triggered this condition. I was already allergic to grass pollen (hay fever) but only during the late sping season. So I am prone to allergies.
s also known as Atarax. Helped relieve the itching and relax me so I could get some rest. My scalp is the WORST which also intensifies my hair loss. Cold compresses help me, but it only helps on smaller areas.
I'm at week 34 and my hair loss has gotten worse the past month of so...shedding like a dog. I finally got tired of picking hair out of my food and messing with comb overs, so I cut it all down to an inch today. I feel better already...kinda punk.
Better now than when I first got them, but not gone and often flare up. Have seen dermatologists and 2 allergists. Other than drawing blood for testing (nothing unusual shows up) putting me on lots of meds ( Daily: 8 atarax 25 mg each, 1 doxepin 25mg at bedtime and two zyrtec 10mg each, one ranitidine 300 mg) they have not been able to do much. And none of the meds made me tired.
I took XYZal for 4 days for my Fall allergies. Once I stopped, I developed this maddening itching all over!!!! I went to my dermatologist who prescribed hydroxyzine capsules. The meds help somewhat....but also make me tired so I can only take at night!!! I have been suffering for FIVE weeks. Any idea when I can expect this reaction to end?? Or at least some tips on method of relief? PLEASE!!
I use Desonide Lotion and Ointment 0.05% for hives on my body and Atopiclair for hives on my face. I also take Atarax 10mg at night when I'm symptomatic. Like benedryl, Atarax will make your fatigue worse, that's why I take it only before bed. I used it all through tx. During tx, you are so dried out from the meds, benedryl may make it worse because it contains a decongestant.
I also use Aveeno bath and Free and Clear laundry detergent.
