xyzal allergy

I have been on Xyzal for 5-6 years and had to go off, suddenly, for a week due to allergy testing. I have itched and scratched myself until I have bruises on my legs, arms, and feet! It's absolutely horrible!! :( In response to the other person who replied to you, it's typically NOT an issue to stay on 2nd generation antihistamines, long-term. Nor is it a problem to quit them suddenly EXCEPT (apparently) with Xyzal and Zyrtec (both are Cetirizine-based).

I finally figured it out its was only happening the nightd he would have the xyzal....The xyzal made the outside of his lobes and his ears feel like they were on fire!!!

Hi, I have mysterious allergy issue, for a long time I didn't know the cause of tingling/shaking, but now I do. My body tingles/shakes all over for day's, after I have a sneezing fit, always happens after I mow the lawn. I'll sneeze 10 times in a row, my nose becomes severly congested, then the symptoms begin. I even wear a mask, but still sneeze. No allergy med helps, I've tried em all, Loratadine, Claritin, XYZal, Benedryl, Zyrtec, etc.....

HI, Mar 2018 I was fine. Allergy test revealed Cedar, Elm tree allergen. I began allergy shots, for a month, afterwards I began sneezing up a storm. Developed chronic rhinitis in the process. I've also developed montly infections, non stop since Mar 2018. Was on antibiotics for 4 months straight, last year. This year Feb/March been on antibiotics Amox/Clav. Each time, I complete course of antibiotics, I begin sneezing up a storm !!

A slight increase in my WBC count and decrease in TSH over year but there still in normal range. I stay fatigued. I have been allergy tested and take a shot a week because I was allergic to everything. I take xyzal, singular, and Concerta daily. None of these were started when fever appeared. I have recently developed a cough and a catch in my breathing when I try to speak. My vision is increasingly becoming more blurry, so bad that my son is complaining about it. TB skin test negative.

Over 5 weeks ago, I took XYZal for 4 days to help with Fall allergies. Shortly after I stopped taking XYZ-al, I started itching all over my body. I went to my dermatologist. she narrowed it down to the allergy medication. Has anyone experienced this reaction? It has been 5 miserable weeks....I am on hydroxyzine pills which make me sleepy so I can only take at night to relieve itching/pinching. I have used multiple lotions. I called manufacturer who really were no help.

Hello! For the past 4 months or so I have been getting hives on the sides of my neck. It happens almost every day or every other day. I have not changed shampoo, lotion, deodorant, laundry detergent, or anything else of that nature. I've never had allergies to mold, pollen, or any particular food in the past. It seems to have started a few months after I had some major dental work but I don't know if there's any correlation.

My exposed skin turns red, my lips are swollen with allergy and its itchy everywhere. I underwent an allergy test and the dermatologist told that my body has atypical response to common allergens like dust mites and pollen. I am still not satisfied , as i think its mainly due to sun. But what is it? I apply aquaphor to heal the redness and itching. Is there any way i can avoid this? Do i have sun allergy? I have tried sunscreens as well but nothing works?

Another Dermatologist had given zentel, Ivermectol for only one dose. and xyzal daily.Now She is not getting hives than previous days. will she get rid of hives completely?

Some allergy meds can cause more frequent urination. I know my son is 5 and will have accidents only while on Cold or Allergy meds. Get the Doc to check for sugar but also make sure you tell him which meds he is on for the allergies.

I have suffered from severe nasal congestion since 5 weeks pregnant(23 weeks now). My dr put me on an allergy pill called xyzal which is AMAZING!!! So yeah there are things you can take. Just have to check with the dr. You can always call the er and ask a nurse to advise you.

for 7 months i was on 40 - 50 mg of ultralan DAILY (it seemed to work better than Prednisone), 2 atarax tablets, 3-4 Xyzal (or zyrtec) daily. if i even tried to lessen the dose then my lips, tongue, eyes and throat would swell. the hives lessened but never fully went away. my weight ballooned and i was in a constant stupor and NOT HAPPY. oh noooo. eventually i started bi-weekly sessions of acupuncture which really really helped and finally i was off the medication.

I currently take Xyzal and Nasacort for allergies and medication for asthma (Singulair and Symbicort). I'm also taking allergy shots for cat dander and grass pollens. When I go running by wooded areas I get a horrible runny nose. My runny nose goes away about 10-15 minutes after I get inside from my run. I'm wondering if it could be from allergies or if it could be from something else. Thanks.

No one can figure out what it is. I have taken everything from Benadryl, Xyzal, Zrytec, Singulair, Claritin, and Hydroxyzine. Nothing has worked. They have done blood work for lupus and many other blood tests. All came back negative. They have started taking me off one drug at a time, now I am only on Xyzal, Singulair and 2 Hydroxyzine HCL 25 daily. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I could do or suggest what my doctor may need to test for. The only known allergy I have is fish.

Waiting for allergy Doc. appointment. Last time I went to allergist, I succumbed to getting allergy drops (like shots, only drops under the tongue). I did that for 2 years. Didn't help. Didn't help stress, heat, chemicals, etc. Any thoughts out there in "hive land"? Hope to hear from you.

But the past few days, some hives have started to come back. I have been taking benadryl along with the xyzal as needed. I was wondering if I could take 2 xyzal a day instead o 1. The only other medication that I am on is ortho cyclin birth control. Would I be okay if I took a 5 mg of xyzal early in the morning and then another in the late afternoon? Thanks in advance!

How can I protect myself from airbourne allergies that trigger my allergy attacts. I take alllery medicines but they make me feel icky and I don't want to wear a mask all day?

I suggest you to consult an allergist and get allergy tests like skin allergy tests( skin ***** and patch tests) and blood tests like RAST done. If it is due to an allergic reaction, then prevention of that allergen is the best treatment. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. I also had developed a non-itchy rash about 8 weeks post exposure on the dorsa of my palms which i showed a dermatologist and he said it is no way an HIV rash and gave me a lotion and xyzal (anti-allergic) tablet. I had xyzal for 8 days and applied the lotion and the rash went away.

If so, you may have an allergy to progesterone. It is supposedly a rare allergy but I don’t think it is. It is just that few doctors have ever heard of it. I have this allergy and my symptoms are not progressing to anaphylaxis. Even men can be allergic to their hormones. I recommend visiting an allergist and having allergy testing done that includes testing for progesterone and, possibly, estrogen allergy (estrogen if you are female). I doubt a dermatologist would be able to help.

I have been dealing with hives since 2000. All i have to do is be in the sun and i break out. I have tried Zyrtec, Allegra, Singular and now i'm on Xyzal. The Xyzal i only tried one time and woke up the next morning feeling like i was drunk and hit by a train. It left a horrible taste in my mouth. I am so sick of these hives. I'm getting married in August and have a terrible farmers tan and i am asking for any advice on what to do.

She prescribed me levocetirizine. Its a newer allergy medication and supposively the best! Its class B which is in same caterogory as benedryl. I'm telling you I have been through 14 bottles of afrin and have not been able to go anywhere without my tissues. I have taken one so far and not one tissue today!

The doctor told me to stop using it immediately after he heard that my body got some allergic reaction toward the drug. The doctor gave me XYZAL-sample medicine- for itching. He gave me four pills and plus a Cholestorel medicine called NIASPAN. He said if itching goes away after four days of using the XYZAL, then I will try Niaspin and see how my body will react. Now, after using XYZAL for two days, my body is still itching, there is no diffrence yet. I got two more pills of XYZAL.
