xopenex

Avatar f tn also breaks it down, TOBI for my pseudomonas (if you culture pseudo, this might be a good drug for you, it is a nebulized form of tobramycin, I rotate 28 days on and 28 days off..it does a fairly good job at keeping my pseudo at bay) as well as pulmicort and Xopenex. Lots of nebs....I used to use mucomyst nebs but I found them to be too irritating and caused my airways to spasm even though I used Xopenex with the nebs. About your initial post...
Avatar n tn I was able to quit using Advair and only use my rescue inhaler from time to time. (When someone decides to wear certain perfumes or colognes). I am taking grape seed extract which contains OPCs which are very good for controlling asthma. Just thought somebody would like to know...
Avatar n tn What are you on as far as nebs and inhalers? Sometimes it takes different combinations to get relief. I know it did with me.. As far as you phlegm, you said it was colored. Did the docs ever get a good sample to determine what bacteria are present? Sometimes docs do what is called a bronchoscopy to get good samples and to get a good look at the lungs but this is usually something that is reserved for last. If there is alot of mucous, then it could easily be chronic bronchitis.
Avatar f tn I am on Nexium 40mg a day, sometimes twice a day if I am on IV antibiotics (they always make my reflux very bad) along with inhalers and nebs (Flovent 220 mcg two puffs twice a day, Xopenex 1.25 mg neb every 6-8 hrs as needed, Singulair 10mg every day... It is also possible to just have one or the other condition. I sure hope that they find the right combination of meds for you. The thing with asthma is that symptoms can come on you pretty suddenly, they did with me especially in my 20's.
Avatar n tn I take it you are talking about the xopenex ampules and not the xopenex spray? If its the spray then there might be something that can be given to him that is not as strong. Hope this helps.
212161 tn?1599427282 thank you so much i have the rescue one xopenex hfa says its levalbuterol. than i have one for night its a powder its asmanex . i have been like this now for 2 months it seems to get better than last night it was not bad but woke me up at 1 could not sleep for coughing and wheezing and scared i was going have a bad attack and die from it , so i need the inhaler just to scared to take it. so are these ok or will the xop cause the heart speed. thank you so much.
Avatar n tn Hi, fast heart rate is due to Xopenex. Initially, use of this drug is associated with this side effect but over a period of time, tolerance usually develops. In case if you have a pre exisiting heart disease, please avoid this drug. Consult you treating doctor to lower the dose or frequency, other alternative is sustained release deriphylline tablets.
Avatar f tn Either way though, with your reactions after exercise, it sounds like a fast acting broncho dilater (some form of albuterol - Proventil, Porair, Maxair, Xopenex, Ventolin) might be a good idea. These medications can be used as a pretreatment for exercise eliminating the reaction and allowing for a better workout. I hope that helps you. Good luck obtaining an accurate diagnosis and the medication that is best for you.
1135961 tn?1279145314 So I went to the ER, and got nebs and an IV.I responded to treatment, but I noticed that my oxygen level was 100%, what does this mean , am i not having an asthma atack? Then why do the nebs work?. The doctor says its an attack, but is that possible if im getting enough oxygen?
1315759 tn?1274044788 or the breathing treatments? at the hospital, they give me xopenex, which works ok, not really good for me. the last time i went to the hospital, the therapist gave me atrovent and xopenex, with 4 doses in one. i told them it was making me too jittery, way more than normal and nobody listened. instead of getting better, it was staying the same and making me feel out of control. how can i get my doctor to prescribe me a pulse ox for at home?
Avatar f tn I have been on CF treatment for about 5 years now and require IV antibiotics to help with the flares that I get with success. I too take nebulizers, Xopenex like your son but also nebs that help break up my mucous called mucolytics. Pulmozyme and hypertonic saline both do a wonderful job thinning out my secretions so that they don't sit there in my lungs.
2022046 tn?1334494634 Any other asthmatic moms here? I'm 13 weeks and just starting to have trouble moving air. It is not bad yet. So far I have tried hard candy, decafe coffee, and warm mist with no relief. My doctor said it is ok to use my albutarol nebs if I have to, but I'm concerned. Anyone else used albutarol during pregnancy?
312330 tn?1245176752 Flovent, serevent (essentially advair), singulair, zithromax and xopenex ( I am on several others but these are specifically for my asthmatic problems). Some people do very well on Theo...I hope that it works out for you.
Avatar f tn She is not responsind to the steriods - still has pain. Her peakflow is only reading 200 - in the hosp. they did a peak flow and nebs and it went to 215. Her oxygen level is good. What should I do?? I am so worried! Thank you!!!
Avatar f tn He said that he must have gotten some sort of virus and it triggered his asthma. He told me to continue his Singulair, Pulmicort Respules one time a day, Xopenex in the nebulizer every four hours, and he prescribed Prednisone two times per day (dr. said to start the steroid only if the cough does not slow down). So on Wednesday morning, my son woke up at 6:30am coughing non-stop....coughing so much that he vomited!
Avatar n tn The doctors have put my 4 year old on xopenex and pulmicort via nebulizer. they said that is the best one for him, he has a complicated history. You really need to seek a 2nd opinion, and that is just my opinion. from everything that my little guy has been through I always maek sure that I also have a copy of his medical reports that way there if you go for a second opinion, then you have all of that stuff and you can be prepared. to ask questions or whatever.
Avatar n tn Hi, You can check with your dr but what we did at that age was buy a really cute face mask in the shape of an animal and I did the nebs while my daughter was asleep. Sorry this is going on for you andyour son -- pls. keep us posted.
212161 tn?1599427282 Yes, it's called adult onset asthma. I never had it either until one year ago, but because I went on a very healthy diet and eliminated milk products and sugar, I stopped wheezing. Lately I started eating all of the bad foods again and now once again I am wheezing. I too refuse to take medications, but 2 weeks ago I did use Xopenex (it's a bronchodialator) that helped me to breathe.
Avatar f tn Get him propper treatment and all will be well. Do continue his nebs every 3 - 4 hours or whatever his action plan or prescription says. I hope this helps.
Avatar f tn She was tested for allergies and asthma twice She takes singulair albuterol inhaler and xopenex viles in her nebulizer according to the recommendations of the doctor . Each time she has a spell of not getting her breath she also experiences heart pounding episodes Also after strenuous exercise occasionally this heart pounding occurs.
Avatar n tn My son had been diagnosed with pneumonia 4 times in the past four months, as well as bronchiolitis in between. He has been treated with Rocephin, Azithromycin, and Amoxil. He has breathing treatments 4 times a day (pulmicort & xopenex) has had 2 episodes of cyanosis, and been hospitalized for low oxygen satuation, wheezing etc. His pediatrician tells me I shouldn't panic and that he has asthma. He is only 13 mos old!
Avatar n tn Thanks. I made an appointment with my PCP and explained the situation. We decided it would be best to discontinue using the CPAP. I was spending more time awake at night attempting to adjust the mask, etc. so that I didn't feel as though I was suffocating and removing it because my ears were popping due to chronic allergy symptoms, etc.

Avatar m tn Hi, it is possible to be having asthma issues and maintaim a good peak flow for a while. Peak flow reflects how clear the larger airways are. You could be having issues in the smaller airways. The presence of mucous would indicate that something is probably going on. You should really discus this with your dr at your next visit and see what he/she says. Another thought would be acid reflux. Could this be an issue for you?
1580703 tn?1651904887 I take Dulera/Singulair/Xopenex and Spiriva and sometimes Combivent. Is there a med like theophylline that can help me? I'm also having bad sleep apnea and am crippled by this and can't work or think because of my lung diseases. Is my sleep apnea caused by asthma or narrowed airway?
