xopenex

Avatar f tn Ask about alternative treatments if the xopenex is not sufficiently helpful..
1315759 tn?1274044788 or the breathing treatments? at the hospital, they give me xopenex, which works ok, not really good for me. the last time i went to the hospital, the therapist gave me atrovent and xopenex, with 4 doses in one. i told them it was making me too jittery, way more than normal and nobody listened. instead of getting better, it was staying the same and making me feel out of control. how can i get my doctor to prescribe me a pulse ox for at home?
Avatar n tn I take it you are talking about the xopenex ampules and not the xopenex spray? If its the spray then there might be something that can be given to him that is not as strong. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn He said that he must have gotten some sort of virus and it triggered his asthma. He told me to continue his Singulair, Pulmicort Respules one time a day, Xopenex in the nebulizer every four hours, and he prescribed Prednisone two times per day (dr. said to start the steroid only if the cough does not slow down). So on Wednesday morning, my son woke up at 6:30am coughing non-stop....coughing so much that he vomited!
Avatar n tn s run a low grade temp for 13 days running, has taken codituss cough med (with codiend), breathing treatments with Xopenex, and has finished a round of Z-pack. Coughing is horrible at bedtime and through the night. Since she has a low grade temp I had disregarded an allergy. 13 days into this, I'm re-thinking everything. I'm looking for help. Is this a virus or allergy or what? She can sit in a room 6 ft from the guinea pigs and not cough at all.
327369 tn?1326119908 Literally one day his lungs will be clear, maybe slight wheezing and then BAHM he has pneumonia. It is not controlled at all with the plan when a cold comes and none of the treatments work. Is this how asthma is for some people or is something more serious going on. I am just so concerned. Thanks!
Avatar n tn My son had been diagnosed with pneumonia 4 times in the past four months, as well as bronchiolitis in between. He has been treated with Rocephin, Azithromycin, and Amoxil. He has breathing treatments 4 times a day (pulmicort & xopenex) has had 2 episodes of cyanosis, and been hospitalized for low oxygen satuation, wheezing etc. His pediatrician tells me I shouldn't panic and that he has asthma. He is only 13 mos old!
Avatar f tn You should be tried on a variety of daily preventative migraine medication to prevent migraines. If one doesn't work, they should try you on another one. I take an herbal daily medication, Petadolex, that has helped me. None of the usual prophylactic meds worked on me without bad side effects. Also, given the locations of your headaches and especially since your neck hurts, you may get significant relief from nerve block and trigger point injections.
212161 tn?1599427282 thank you so much i have the rescue one xopenex hfa says its levalbuterol. than i have one for night its a powder its asmanex . i have been like this now for 2 months it seems to get better than last night it was not bad but woke me up at 1 could not sleep for coughing and wheezing and scared i was going have a bad attack and die from it , so i need the inhaler just to scared to take it. so are these ok or will the xop cause the heart speed. thank you so much.
Avatar n tn Hi, fast heart rate is due to Xopenex. Initially, use of this drug is associated with this side effect but over a period of time, tolerance usually develops. In case if you have a pre exisiting heart disease, please avoid this drug. Consult you treating doctor to lower the dose or frequency, other alternative is sustained release deriphylline tablets.
Avatar f tn Either way though, with your reactions after exercise, it sounds like a fast acting broncho dilater (some form of albuterol - Proventil, Porair, Maxair, Xopenex, Ventolin) might be a good idea. These medications can be used as a pretreatment for exercise eliminating the reaction and allowing for a better workout. I hope that helps you. Good luck obtaining an accurate diagnosis and the medication that is best for you.
Avatar f tn he takes nebulizer treatments on a daily basis, pulmicort and if needed, xopenex, he cardiac issues, asthma and narrowing if his throat. he has been on these medications since he was 5 weeks old. today while he was at school he was very short of breath and not wheezing but could feel that junkie **** in his lungs, so they gave him a treatment, as they gave him his treatment his eyes rolled tothe back of his head and started to flutter, the person said this can happen during an asthma attack.
Avatar n tn however, when he gets a cold his asthma ALWAYS worstens . His asthma doctor has me do the nebulizer treatments with albuterol every 4 hrs and singulair pills one in the morning and one before bedtime. Once he gets better then it goes back to just the QVAR. This winter so far has been particularly difficult , he has had a cough , heavy chest congestion for almost 2 months .
Avatar f tn He had a lot of antibiotic in his body, after being on it for seven days, and he would not respond to the homeopathic treatments, since these treatments can be overridden by pharmaceutical drugs. Since my son's last asthma episode, I took him back to his homeopath to be treated. Hopefully, after the next two months, he will be rid of these transient tics and I'll have a better idea of what to do to treat a bacterial infection in his ears the next time it occurs.
312330 tn?1245176752 Flovent, serevent (essentially advair), singulair, zithromax and xopenex ( I am on several others but these are specifically for my asthmatic problems). Some people do very well on Theo...I hope that it works out for you.
Avatar f tn Hi, Primacor IV infusion is indicated in short term treatment of acute decompensated heart failure or as maintenance therapy in long standing heart failure. Side effects to this drug are rare but can occur due to associated drugs used for treating heart failure. A patient on this medication needs continuous monitoring when initiated plus regular blood work to follow electrolyte levels, renal function (kidney), as well the blood pressure and heart rhythm need to be followed.
Tbd Hi. So, a glucose meter using a finger tip prick or a continuous glucose monitor is best for checking blood sugar. Of course, that's after you are diagnosed with diabetes. Prior to that, blood work ordered by your doctor will reveal your sugar levels. https://diabetes.
Avatar f tn I have chronic cystoid macular edema of more than two years duration (refractory to treatments) and also a slight epimacular proliferation. My vision is worsening slightly. Local doctors are very conservative and recommend no treatment other than the unsuccesful ones I've tried thus far. Can anyone recommend a doctor for me to see for second opinion. I will travel anywhere.
212161 tn?1599427282 Yes, it's called adult onset asthma. I never had it either until one year ago, but because I went on a very healthy diet and eliminated milk products and sugar, I stopped wheezing. Lately I started eating all of the bad foods again and now once again I am wheezing. I too refuse to take medications, but 2 weeks ago I did use Xopenex (it's a bronchodialator) that helped me to breathe.
Avatar n tn t described the headache as yet. Is it one side or both, which side, continuous or intermittent, how long does each episode last, what brings it on, what relieves it... On the contrary, your sleep pattern makes one think; whether it is the effect of headache? Or if it is the stressed up mind that produces the headache and doesn't allow you to sleep.
Avatar f tn Hey, I'm looking for treatment options for my partners teeth. He has two large front teeth which stick out slightly, small teeth next to them which have made his teeth gappy in appearance,.. his jaw is small (I'm guessing this is because he has had teeth removed and has small teeth?), and there's three teeth missing at the back. He would like to improve the appearance of his smile and reduce the ageing look to his face.
Avatar f tn also breaks it down, TOBI for my pseudomonas (if you culture pseudo, this might be a good drug for you, it is a nebulized form of tobramycin, I rotate 28 days on and 28 days off..it does a fairly good job at keeping my pseudo at bay) as well as pulmicort and Xopenex. Lots of nebs....I used to use mucomyst nebs but I found them to be too irritating and caused my airways to spasm even though I used Xopenex with the nebs. About your initial post...
Avatar f tn She was tested for allergies and asthma twice She takes singulair albuterol inhaler and xopenex viles in her nebulizer according to the recommendations of the doctor . Each time she has a spell of not getting her breath she also experiences heart pounding episodes Also after strenuous exercise occasionally this heart pounding occurs.
