Common Questions and Answers about Xopenex inh

xopenex

Avatar n tn I take it you are talking about the xopenex ampules and not the xopenex spray? If its the spray then there might be something that can be given to him that is not as strong. Hope this helps.
Avatar m tn A couple of weeks later, I was contacted by the county health department and offered to begin a 6-month regimen of INH antibiotic. I began my INH course on 12/29/2010 and completed it on 06/02/2011 -- 6 months in total with a little card from the health department certifying my compliance. My concern is that yesterday, I was coming home from vacation when a homeless-looking man (a smoker) coughed right in the direction of my friend and I. It was pretty disgusting, to say the least.
Avatar m tn Because of the higher affinity of the autoantibody for native C1-INH, the 95-kd antibody/C1-INH complex dissociates, and the freed antibody can bind to another native C1-INH molecule, allowing for the further depletion of C1-INH." Can HIV sero conversion effect this? Or is that only after an HIV+ person has reached AIDS status?
Avatar n tn Talk to your doctor. It might just be from your clothing, but hard to say.
Avatar n tn Yours was a violent reaction to isoniazid (INH). Indeed you should not take INH again, but there are alternatives. Glad you survived this severe drug reaction. Before you and your doctor resort to an alternative, you must be sure that there is no evidence of active tuberculosis, as that would determine the optimum therapeutic regimen.
378225 tn?1201730140 Someone I know has been taking INH meds for 9 months. How long after taking INH medication can they begin drinking alcohol?

429700 tn?1308007823 Have you had any trouble with your liver enzymes being elevated while on Gilenya? It's looking more and more like I'll be starting this medicine. My doctor put me on INH as a prophylaxis to prevent TB due to history of past infection (latent TB). I noticed that a potential side effect of INH is liver problems. My GP will be monitoring me on this medicine (INH). I have to go back in three months to get tested for liver problems.
Avatar n tn There is no direct connection between pulmonary emboli and tuberculosis (TB), including skin test conversion. Yes, the prophylactic administration of isoniazid (INH) for a TB chest conversion may cause inflammation of the liver, but does so in a minority of individuals taking the medicine. However, there is also the risk of liver inflammation due to the medicine Crestor® (rosuvastatin) and it is conceivable that there could be an additive effect of Crestor® (rosuvastatin) and INH.
Avatar f tn It was discovered I was exposed to the TB germ when I was a kid. I was given INH treatment for 6 months. I am 36 years old now and have had no problems. I still test postive and scar tissue is noted on my chest x ray but so far so good. I think the best person to answer your questions would be your sons pediatrician.
Avatar n tn Hi, fast heart rate is due to Xopenex. Initially, use of this drug is associated with this side effect but over a period of time, tolerance usually develops. In case if you have a pre exisiting heart disease, please avoid this drug. Consult you treating doctor to lower the dose or frequency, other alternative is sustained release deriphylline tablets.
Avatar f tn Either way though, with your reactions after exercise, it sounds like a fast acting broncho dilater (some form of albuterol - Proventil, Porair, Maxair, Xopenex, Ventolin) might be a good idea. These medications can be used as a pretreatment for exercise eliminating the reaction and allowing for a better workout. I hope that helps you. Good luck obtaining an accurate diagnosis and the medication that is best for you.
Avatar n tn The only problem is that I am also on antibiotics- isoniazid, or INH, which is supposed to decrease the effectiveness of a birth control pill. I am not sure about its effects on Plan B, however. My period started on January 25th and ended around February 1st. What are the chances that I could be pregnant? Please help.
Avatar m tn Dear Sir, I am 38 years old male from Mumbai. I been suffering from Pulmonary Tuberclosis from 13/07/2013 ( detection date ).
559856 tn?1216897205 if the childs mantoux is positive,go for chest x ray.if the chest x ray shows enlargement of glands, the child may have primary complex.child may need six months of anti tb drugs.if x ray is normal ,still the child may need three months of INH,as the child is mantoux positve.
Avatar f tn I saw this article today about the HIV drugs causing a heart risk. Does the same thing apply to the HCV drug combo's, i.e. Ribavirin + a Protease Inh....., or Ribavirin + a Polymerase Inh. ?? I'd be interested to know. The reason being that if you were to know that you have more of a heart risk factor than the average person, because of these drugs, wouldn't your doctor be more watchful and prepared for it in the event of a heart arrythmia problem?
Avatar f tn Vosevi contains sofosbuvir (which I had in the Sovaldi/Peg/Riba treatment on my last TX about 2-3 yrs ago), a Prot. Inh and a Poly Inh I will actually had the meds in hand next week, but am waiting until after Thanksgiving to start it. I have to meet with my GI (who is following me local) and sign a form, before I actually start the regimen.
1315759 tn?1274044788 or the breathing treatments? at the hospital, they give me xopenex, which works ok, not really good for me. the last time i went to the hospital, the therapist gave me atrovent and xopenex, with 4 doses in one. i told them it was making me too jittery, way more than normal and nobody listened. instead of getting better, it was staying the same and making me feel out of control. how can i get my doctor to prescribe me a pulse ox for at home?
Avatar n tn I went to the doctor today for his aproval before starting INH treatment. We discussed NASH and he asked if I had recieved treatment for my Fatty liver.... Crazy thing is, the doctors that dx me with NASH never told me about Vitamin E! I let this go on for at least 5 years or more when I could have done something about it...? Any how, I started INH for TB today.... we will see how this goes. Naturally I can not sleep, because I am woried about it. Folks take care...
312330 tn?1245176752 Flovent, serevent (essentially advair), singulair, zithromax and xopenex ( I am on several others but these are specifically for my asthmatic problems). Some people do very well on Theo...I hope that it works out for you.
Avatar f tn m systemic, these meds can save my life. There is a very toxic antibiotic for the latent TB called (ionized) INH to be taken 9-12 months. When I first got exposed, the cut off point to take this med was 35yrs old. That's becuase it's filtered through the liver and the younger a person is, the faster and better the liver/kidneys work. The INH can be filtered faster. Then they changed the proticol to 50. ( I believe to be true). No one ever told me that.
454221 tn?1259445739 m not so lucky. I also had a positive skin test for TB back in summer 2005 and have been on INH and vitamin b6 treatment since August 27th 2007 and should finish the treatment in late May. Does the INH have anything to do with the bronchitis?
Avatar f tn Hi ! Been wanting to catch up with you. The first rheumy said I have RA and the new one I went to says I don't. My nuclear whole body scan shows most EVERY joint in my body to be degenerative. (does that mean erosion)? I do have that positive RA Factor and have pain. But now I don't know if I may have Lupus. My Lupus labs are negative including the DNA. Can they eventually become positive?
Avatar f tn He said that he must have gotten some sort of virus and it triggered his asthma. He told me to continue his Singulair, Pulmicort Respules one time a day, Xopenex in the nebulizer every four hours, and he prescribed Prednisone two times per day (dr. said to start the steroid only if the cough does not slow down). So on Wednesday morning, my son woke up at 6:30am coughing non-stop....coughing so much that he vomited!
