Avatar n tn I take it you are talking about the xopenex ampules and not the xopenex spray? If its the spray then there might be something that can be given to him that is not as strong. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn Yes I just called in. What is HSA??
Avatar n tn t know anything about HSA. You need to watch insurance agents saying you should open an HSA. I am sure they make commission off of each one they open which means they really are NOT looking out for your best interest. But this is just my opinion. Good luck and stay in touch. Also you should fill out your profile so we will know a little bit more about you. Seems like you have been here for a while but I am a newbie so don't recognize your handle. Best of luck always.....
Avatar f tn Here is the Government HSA web site http://findahealthcenter.hrsa.gov/ You pay the HSA Health Center basically what you can afford. Use ER too but also have them test and write the prescription.
Avatar m tn I am thinking that I could get like a lower cost plan from Aetna or United HealthOne and have like a $2500 or $3000 deductable with 0% coinsurance along with a HSA. I would use the HSA to slowly build up a deductable over two years lets say so that if I need it its there for two years. Is this a decent way to look at this?
212161 tn?1599427282 thank you so much i have the rescue one xopenex hfa says its levalbuterol. than i have one for night its a powder its asmanex . i have been like this now for 2 months it seems to get better than last night it was not bad but woke me up at 1 could not sleep for coughing and wheezing and scared i was going have a bad attack and die from it , so i need the inhaler just to scared to take it. so are these ok or will the xop cause the heart speed. thank you so much.
Avatar n tn Hi, fast heart rate is due to Xopenex. Initially, use of this drug is associated with this side effect but over a period of time, tolerance usually develops. In case if you have a pre exisiting heart disease, please avoid this drug. Consult you treating doctor to lower the dose or frequency, other alternative is sustained release deriphylline tablets.
Avatar f tn Either way though, with your reactions after exercise, it sounds like a fast acting broncho dilater (some form of albuterol - Proventil, Porair, Maxair, Xopenex, Ventolin) might be a good idea. These medications can be used as a pretreatment for exercise eliminating the reaction and allowing for a better workout. I hope that helps you. Good luck obtaining an accurate diagnosis and the medication that is best for you.
Avatar m tn Hi all, I'm still trying to get more information on HSA and figure out if it'd be a good idea for me to get one. I read a good article - http://www.nywellnessguide.com/content/are-health-savings-accounts-good-investment but any other info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
1315759 tn?1274044788 or the breathing treatments? at the hospital, they give me xopenex, which works ok, not really good for me. the last time i went to the hospital, the therapist gave me atrovent and xopenex, with 4 doses in one. i told them it was making me too jittery, way more than normal and nobody listened. instead of getting better, it was staying the same and making me feel out of control. how can i get my doctor to prescribe me a pulse ox for at home?
312330 tn?1245176752 Flovent, serevent (essentially advair), singulair, zithromax and xopenex ( I am on several others but these are specifically for my asthmatic problems). Some people do very well on Theo...I hope that it works out for you.
Avatar f tn I honestly don't know what an HSA is?
Avatar f tn He said that he must have gotten some sort of virus and it triggered his asthma. He told me to continue his Singulair, Pulmicort Respules one time a day, Xopenex in the nebulizer every four hours, and he prescribed Prednisone two times per day (dr. said to start the steroid only if the cough does not slow down). So on Wednesday morning, my son woke up at 6:30am coughing non-stop....coughing so much that he vomited!
Avatar n tn If by high deductible health plans (HDHP), you are referring to Health Savings Account (HSA) eligible HDHP, there is another way you can insure getting negotiated rates and that is by finding an HSA administrator that offers “Auto Reimbursement”. I am aware of a couple of institutions that offer Auto Reimbursement & the one that checks your claims against negotiated rates is Sterling Bank. You can learn more about Sterling Bank through the link below; http://www.sterlingsavingsbank.
Avatar f tn does anyone have anthem insurance? Do you happen to know a anytime phone number for them? Trying to find out if they cover first trimester nuchal screening. I know i am on their lumenos hsa plan (savings account). I've tried calling the numbers on the back of my insurance card but it keeps telling me to call during regular hours but i need to know now for my appointment Monday. Thank you mommas!
212161 tn?1599427282 Yes, it's called adult onset asthma. I never had it either until one year ago, but because I went on a very healthy diet and eliminated milk products and sugar, I stopped wheezing. Lately I started eating all of the bad foods again and now once again I am wheezing. I too refuse to take medications, but 2 weeks ago I did use Xopenex (it's a bronchodialator) that helped me to breathe.
Avatar f tn She was tested for allergies and asthma twice She takes singulair albuterol inhaler and xopenex viles in her nebulizer according to the recommendations of the doctor . Each time she has a spell of not getting her breath she also experiences heart pounding episodes Also after strenuous exercise occasionally this heart pounding occurs.
Avatar n tn My son had been diagnosed with pneumonia 4 times in the past four months, as well as bronchiolitis in between. He has been treated with Rocephin, Azithromycin, and Amoxil. He has breathing treatments 4 times a day (pulmicort & xopenex) has had 2 episodes of cyanosis, and been hospitalized for low oxygen satuation, wheezing etc. His pediatrician tells me I shouldn't panic and that he has asthma. He is only 13 mos old!

Avatar m tn Hi, it is possible to be having asthma issues and maintaim a good peak flow for a while. Peak flow reflects how clear the larger airways are. You could be having issues in the smaller airways. The presence of mucous would indicate that something is probably going on. You should really discus this with your dr at your next visit and see what he/she says. Another thought would be acid reflux. Could this be an issue for you?
1580703 tn?1651904887 I take Dulera/Singulair/Xopenex and Spiriva and sometimes Combivent. Is there a med like theophylline that can help me? I'm also having bad sleep apnea and am crippled by this and can't work or think because of my lung diseases. Is my sleep apnea caused by asthma or narrowed airway?
