However, my son has been on other medications for sinisitis and bronchitis that could account for a headache. He now off of pulmicort, xopenex and nasonex. He is currently going through allergy testing as well. It is very difficult for me to try to determine the cause of the headache with so much going on with him. He is feeling completely better aside from this headache.
Symptoms all the same but this time x-ray showed bronchitis with no infiltrate. I took him to the ER and he was started on prednisone and we continued xoponex as before. 2 wks later the dry cough began and we treated him aggressively with pulmacort and xoponex. Exactly 2 wks later ( yesterday) the dry cough has began again. I have started him on pulmacort and xopenex again. My questions are this...
Hi, fast heart rate is due to Xopenex. Initially, use of this drug is associated with this side effect but over a period of time, tolerance usually develops. In case if you have a pre exisiting heart disease, please avoid this drug.
Consult you treating doctor to lower the dose or frequency, other alternative is sustained release deriphylline tablets.
After a week and a half I saw the doctor, was diagnosed with both sinusitis and bronchitis and it appeared my asthma was in control, this was a Friday. (I have had asthma my entire life and at the first signs of a sniffle and some tightness I immediately start a prednisone taper and Xopenex nebulizer). I was prescribed azithromycin and told to continue with my xopenex and prednisone. I also took cough syrup, sudafed and motrin.
Either way though, with your reactions after exercise, it sounds like a fast acting broncho dilater (some form of albuterol - Proventil, Porair, Maxair, Xopenex, Ventolin) might be a good idea. These medications can be used as a pretreatment for exercise eliminating the reaction and allowing for a better workout.

However, since 3 he has had RSV, Pneumonia 6xs, Bronchitis 6xs, Bronchilitis and Croup 14xs. Remember he is only 10. So in 7 years he had all that.
He had his tonsils and adnoids removed in the spring in an effort to stop the Croup. Ten days later he had Croup. He had Croup this September for 4 1/2 weeks, it just wouldn't go away. Then he had a sinus infection (so they say) then Bronchitis again. During his bronchoscope they too said he had Innominate Artery Compression of 10-15%.
He said that he must have gotten some sort of virus and it triggered his asthma. He told me to continue his Singulair, Pulmicort Respules one time a day, Xopenex in the nebulizer every four hours, and he prescribed Prednisone two times per day (dr. said to start the steroid only if the cough does not slow down).
So on Wednesday morning, my son woke up at 6:30am coughing non-stop....coughing so much that he vomited!
Therapy is with bronchodilators which cause the airways to dilate. Your symptoms could also be due to COPD or Bronchitis. You will need to consult your doctor who may ask for blood test and an X ray. Lung function tests could further help in evaluation. In the meantime try to take warm oral fluids and do steam inhalations prior to your meals. This helps to loosen up and bring out the secretions.

He was presented to the ER when his breathsounds worsened and it appeared he was in distress. He recieved xopenex tx, however, I believe the calming car ride did more wonders. His O2 sats did not go below 97% and his chest x-ray was clear. Lung sounds also have been clear. My concern is that his breathing continues to become noisier and when upset he appears in distress. He feeds ok, however appears fatigued with the effort to eat and breath. He now wheezes cont., even sleep.

I am 15 1/2 weeks pregnant and I have bronchitis. My chest hurts and I get sharp pains in my lower abdomen when I cough. Any advice on how to treat it. My doctor wants to put me on antibiotics but I'm not so sure it's safe.....
i've went to the doctor a year ago and was diagnosed with acute bronchitis and took antibiotics to get rid of it. However, it never completely left. I always find by self breathless, tired, drained and I hardly have any energy. I also am constantly spitting in light red blood with yellow mucus mixed in it. So do you think I may have copd?
It is common to lose your voice with bronchitis. Usually it is all the coughing. I am praying you get well soon.

Hi please I need help I have been coughing for like 2 weeks no fever just like tickle in my troath, I start feeling like a weird sound in my right lung every time I take deep breath, I went to the doctor and he said It was bronchitis I started an azithromycin cycle 6 tablets , I finished taking it 2 days ago ... I still coughing and still felling that weird sensation in my back every time I take a deep breath , what can this be, how long this can last?
ve had antibiotics I am NOT getting any better with this acute bronchitis tonight I am having chest pains and back pains is this part of bronchitis or is this something else I should be concerned with Thank You Denise
