Xopenex bronchitis

Common Questions and Answers about Xopenex bronchitis

xopenex

Avatar n tn However, my son has been on other medications for sinisitis and bronchitis that could account for a headache. He now off of pulmicort, xopenex and nasonex. He is currently going through allergy testing as well. It is very difficult for me to try to determine the cause of the headache with so much going on with him. He is feeling completely better aside from this headache.
1580703 tn?1651904887 I take Dulera/Singulair/Xopenex and Spiriva and sometimes Combivent. Is there a med like theophylline that can help me? I'm also having bad sleep apnea and am crippled by this and can't work or think because of my lung diseases. Is my sleep apnea caused by asthma or narrowed airway?
Avatar n tn I take it you are talking about the xopenex ampules and not the xopenex spray? If its the spray then there might be something that can be given to him that is not as strong. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn Symptoms all the same but this time x-ray showed bronchitis with no infiltrate. I took him to the ER and he was started on prednisone and we continued xoponex as before. 2 wks later the dry cough began and we treated him aggressively with pulmacort and xoponex. Exactly 2 wks later ( yesterday) the dry cough has began again. I have started him on pulmacort and xopenex again. My questions are this...
212161 tn?1599427282 thank you so much i have the rescue one xopenex hfa says its levalbuterol. than i have one for night its a powder its asmanex . i have been like this now for 2 months it seems to get better than last night it was not bad but woke me up at 1 could not sleep for coughing and wheezing and scared i was going have a bad attack and die from it , so i need the inhaler just to scared to take it. so are these ok or will the xop cause the heart speed. thank you so much.
Avatar n tn Hi, fast heart rate is due to Xopenex. Initially, use of this drug is associated with this side effect but over a period of time, tolerance usually develops. In case if you have a pre exisiting heart disease, please avoid this drug. Consult you treating doctor to lower the dose or frequency, other alternative is sustained release deriphylline tablets.
Avatar n tn After a week and a half I saw the doctor, was diagnosed with both sinusitis and bronchitis and it appeared my asthma was in control, this was a Friday. (I have had asthma my entire life and at the first signs of a sniffle and some tightness I immediately start a prednisone taper and Xopenex nebulizer). I was prescribed azithromycin and told to continue with my xopenex and prednisone. I also took cough syrup, sudafed and motrin.
Avatar f tn Either way though, with your reactions after exercise, it sounds like a fast acting broncho dilater (some form of albuterol - Proventil, Porair, Maxair, Xopenex, Ventolin) might be a good idea. These medications can be used as a pretreatment for exercise eliminating the reaction and allowing for a better workout. I hope that helps you. Good luck obtaining an accurate diagnosis and the medication that is best for you.
1315759 tn?1274044788 or the breathing treatments? at the hospital, they give me xopenex, which works ok, not really good for me. the last time i went to the hospital, the therapist gave me atrovent and xopenex, with 4 doses in one. i told them it was making me too jittery, way more than normal and nobody listened. instead of getting better, it was staying the same and making me feel out of control. how can i get my doctor to prescribe me a pulse ox for at home?
312330 tn?1245176752 Flovent, serevent (essentially advair), singulair, zithromax and xopenex ( I am on several others but these are specifically for my asthmatic problems). Some people do very well on Theo...I hope that it works out for you.
Avatar f tn However, since 3 he has had RSV, Pneumonia 6xs, Bronchitis 6xs, Bronchilitis and Croup 14xs. Remember he is only 10. So in 7 years he had all that. He had his tonsils and adnoids removed in the spring in an effort to stop the Croup. Ten days later he had Croup. He had Croup this September for 4 1/2 weeks, it just wouldn't go away. Then he had a sinus infection (so they say) then Bronchitis again. During his bronchoscope they too said he had Innominate Artery Compression of 10-15%.
Avatar f tn He said that he must have gotten some sort of virus and it triggered his asthma. He told me to continue his Singulair, Pulmicort Respules one time a day, Xopenex in the nebulizer every four hours, and he prescribed Prednisone two times per day (dr. said to start the steroid only if the cough does not slow down). So on Wednesday morning, my son woke up at 6:30am coughing non-stop....coughing so much that he vomited!
212161 tn?1599427282 Yes, it's called adult onset asthma. I never had it either until one year ago, but because I went on a very healthy diet and eliminated milk products and sugar, I stopped wheezing. Lately I started eating all of the bad foods again and now once again I am wheezing. I too refuse to take medications, but 2 weeks ago I did use Xopenex (it's a bronchodialator) that helped me to breathe.
Avatar n tn Therapy is with bronchodilators which cause the airways to dilate. Your symptoms could also be due to COPD or Bronchitis. You will need to consult your doctor who may ask for blood test and an X ray. Lung function tests could further help in evaluation. In the meantime try to take warm oral fluids and do steam inhalations prior to your meals. This helps to loosen up and bring out the secretions. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn He was presented to the ER when his breathsounds worsened and it appeared he was in distress. He recieved xopenex tx, however, I believe the calming car ride did more wonders. His O2 sats did not go below 97% and his chest x-ray was clear. Lung sounds also have been clear. My concern is that his breathing continues to become noisier and when upset he appears in distress. He feeds ok, however appears fatigued with the effort to eat and breath. He now wheezes cont., even sleep.
Avatar f tn Has anyone else had bronchitis while they were pregnant and baby was fine?
Avatar f tn I am 15 1/2 weeks pregnant and I have bronchitis. My chest hurts and I get sharp pains in my lower abdomen when I cough. Any advice on how to treat it. My doctor wants to put me on antibiotics but I'm not so sure it's safe.....
Avatar m tn i've went to the doctor a year ago and was diagnosed with acute bronchitis and took antibiotics to get rid of it. However, it never completely left. I always find by self breathless, tired, drained and I hardly have any energy. I also am constantly spitting in light red blood with yellow mucus mixed in it. So do you think I may have copd?
Avatar n tn It is common to lose your voice with bronchitis. Usually it is all the coughing. I am praying you get well soon. Please let me know how the appointment goes.
Avatar m tn Hi please I need help I have been coughing for like 2 weeks no fever just like tickle in my troath, I start feeling like a weird sound in my right lung every time I take deep breath, I went to the doctor and he said It was bronchitis I started an azithromycin cycle 6 tablets , I finished taking it 2 days ago ... I still coughing and still felling that weird sensation in my back every time I take a deep breath , what can this be, how long this can last?
15559407 tn?1441369521 thought it was bronchitis. Then it evolved to asthma like symptoms during the night. My throat would suddenly close up and I couldn't breathe in or out and in the worst attacks I had to retch several times to clear it. After getting tests in the ER (chest x ray/cat scan) it was thought that GERD was causing the issue. Sure enough I started getting digestive issues and stomach bloating/pain. However I am still not sure that is the cause and keep going back to bronchitis.
Avatar f tn ve had antibiotics I am NOT getting any better with this acute bronchitis tonight I am having chest pains and back pains is this part of bronchitis or is this something else I should be concerned with Thank You Denise
