xalatan

17644146 tn?1458782868 Does anyone take Xalatan? I picked up my new bottle of Xalatan today and I noticed the pharmacist didn't take it from the refrigerator, but took it off the shelf where she keeps all her prescriptions. I asked her if she shouldn't have had it in the refrigerator since yesterday when I called in the refill. She said one day out of the refrigerator would not harm the unopened Xalatan. When I got home I put it in my fridge.
Avatar m tn I am not physically restricted - I walk 1 mile or more day and do 10 minutes of other light exercises most days. My BP runs under 120/80 most of the time. I understand carvedilol helps prevent stiffening of the heart muscle and can help restore LV function to some degree. How specially, so it do this? What is the biochemical mechanism?
Avatar m tn l have been taking Xalatan for a year and there has'nt been any side effects except my eyes feeling a bit dry l have developed some floaters but my doctor says it most likley has nothing to do with the xalatan , but the past few weeks it has been starting to sting or feel a bit , sometimes l put in two drops at a time instead of one , could putting too much in cause this soreness, is there an eye drop such as a lubricant eye drop l could take that relieves the soreness.
Avatar m tn Taking the Cosopt three times one day and not doubling up will not hurt you, but I recommend that you start the correct dosing of twice a day for optimal therapy and let your doctor know that you did not use it correctly for that short period of time.

Avatar f tn Have used Xalatan for several years with no rash. Added Trusopt 1 year ago and about 3 months ago I started with a rash on eyelids. Dermatologist treated for contact dermatitis Fluticasone Propionate cream with little result. Opthamologist treated for blepharitis with an antibiotic cream and eyelid wash, again no relief. I tried using Xalatan in AM rather than at nite, no change. Tried just Trusopt AM and early PM, no change.
Avatar f tn Thanks for your response, but I'd still like to know how long Xalatan is typically effective. Also, what is the longest amount of time you've ever had a patient on Xalantan before tolerance is built up? Thanks again, and I do very much appreciate that there are doctors responding to questions on forums such as this one...

Avatar m tn The mechanism of action of CampralĀ® (acamprosate calcium) Delayed-Release Tablets in maintenance of alcohol abstinence is not completely understood. Originally, several neurotransmitter systems, including GABA, were investigated for a possible role in Campral's mechanism of action. However, recent evidence suggests Campral's main interaction is with the glutamate system. Chronic alcohol exposure is hypothesized to alter the normal balance between neuronal excitation and inhibition.

Avatar m tn Will be havibng laser treatment for this Do you know more about the type what it involved and whether it is safe(been told it is) Is this something the specialists should have picked up during a general axmination of the eyes eg slit lamp. Only picked up when i complaind of the halos and headaches. The pressure was at 50 i am 28 have been told unlikely to have done damage to eyesight as we lose many caplillaries or vessels (or something like that anyway).
Avatar n tn I have been using Xalatan for the last 6 months for my eye pressure which was 23 and now is around 17. Over the last 3-4 weeks I have eye pain in one of the eyes, consistent dull ache. I visited my Optho and had eye dilated and checked and everything looks fine. He changed the drops to Travatan. But the pain is still present after using travatan for like 2 weeks. What else can be the cause? What else should I try to find out?
Avatar f tn Plavix has a unique mechanism of action by blocking the amplification of platelet activation by released ADP, and often used with aspirin to prevent the risk of clots for the first year after DES implant. Plavix and aspirin have different mechanism of action to prevent clots. After a year, plavix is usually discontinue as the risk for clots is decreased, and aspirin is continued long term. The risk of a clot is about 3%.
Avatar n tn s were slightly elevated (and an Aunt had glaucoma) but returned toward normal on Xalatan drops? Might she expect the cataract surgery itself to alter her pressures toward normal or should she have a combined laser filtering procedure? Thanks.
274009 tn?1224434467 t have an eye pressure problem until after my last eyesurgery (Dec07) which was a combination of reattachment of my retina plus I had a catarac removed. last year I had 3 surgeries in 3 months. At my last Doctor visit I was told there's a leakage going into my pupil and may need laser surgery to correct... but the Doctor doesn't seem to think it's too urgent. I'm also wondering if I should try for a 3rd opinion as my last eye surgery is a result of a 2nd opinion.
Avatar n tn Stay very very close to highly qualified Eye MD ophthalmologists as you are at risk for a host of eye problems of the retina and due to your glaucoma as you get older.

Avatar f tn Potassium is a chemical element and it is part of the electrolyte that should be in balance with other lytes to adequately conduct an electrical impulse that originates with the sinus node in the right atrium. Gastroenterology. 2010 Jul;139 The therapeutic mechanisms of ribavirin for hepatitis C are unclear. Microarray analyses have shown that ribavirin increases induction of interferon-stimulated genes. We evaluated viral kinetics, serum cytokine expression, and viral mutagenesis during early stages of peginterferon therapy with and without ribavirin.
Avatar n tn Thanks Dr Hagan! Currently the drops that were given to may husband are Alphagan and Dorzolamide-timolol. From doing a lot of reading I understand the best medications are Alphagan-P (morning and afternoon, Azopt (3X/day), and Xalatan (at bedtime). Not sure if you have any opinions on this. Also I would like to buy a tonometer - Is there one that you recommend? We have a meeting scheduled with the Glaucoma specialist. Are there any questions I need to ask. Thanks so much Dr Hagan!
