So 12 days after unprotected sex, i got tested for chlamydia and gonorrhea. Came back negative but said i had a uti. Took macrobid and symptoms got worse...doc then gave me cipro. Synptoms got worse. Did a pelvic exam and found cervicitis. Tested me for stds again and came back negative. Since then i have been on 5 rounds of antibitoics and tested for chlamydia and gonorrhea 6 times...all negative. What are the chances that all of these are false negatives?
I was diagnosed with chlamydia on January 2nd after a pap smear. I believe I caught it 2 weeks previous when I slept with a new guy. My symptoms were uti Symptoms and a bit of yellowish discharge. I took 1000 mg of azithromycin, but it seemed to do nothing. I called and got sent macrobid thinking it was a lingering uti caused by the chlamydia. This also did nothing. I went back to a clinic and got retested positive for chlamydia again 2 weeks later. Took azithromycin again with no relief.

I have suffered from recurrent uti's for about two years. I am female, 30 years old. Primary symptom will be a burning when I urinate and back pain. I have been tested many times at the doctor, I think at least 5 times for trichomonias- mostly with the doctor looking under the microscope and once about 3 weeks ago with a DNA test. Also have been tested for gonherrea and chlymadia many times both with the urine test and pelvic swab.
Does the antibiotic macrobid used to treat uti's decrease the effectiveness of birth control? Because I'm on the pill and I shouldn't get my period for another week and I've been bleeding.. This makes me nervous because while taking macrobid I had sex without a condom, he pulled out, but I know that's not always a safe alternative either.
I know that during early pregnancy bleeding isn't uncommon. I'm scared out of my mind..

I've had 3 uti's this pregnancy, therefore I have been put on macrobid for the remaining of my pregnancy. I have to take 1 every night until I deliver. Started @32 weeks am now 35+5. No problems from it yet. I haven't had any syptoms of uti so I would never known if it weren't for the urine soles at Dr. Office.
Do yourself a favor and visit an urgent care clinic, inform them of what you stated here and just pay for the visit. They'll most likely treat you for gonorrhea and chlamydia given the fact that your partner had positive results. It should be a quick painless shot in the butt followed by a few days of azithro (z-pack). I know it sucks, but just do it and then go back a few weeks later for a follow up urine test to see if it cleared up.
It's far better to treat and know than to wonder.
My girlfriends doctor suggested that she take Macrobid in order to clear up her urinary tract infection. If by some CRAZY chance she did receive an std that causes urinary tracts infection, would macrobid clear that up as well??

Since then I had cramps in lower abdomen. I later found out that it was an UTI. I was given macrobid but it did not work. I was then given a long dosage of Cipro and I feel much better but the cramps are somewhat there. I believe I have pid. I tested negative for chlamydia and Gonnerrhea and all other stds.
You did comment that it was unlikely that the uti med(macrobid) could have cleared something up???? What disease could the med cleared up?I do remember even after taking macrobid i had a very pronounced lumbar pain mainly left side.I felt as if my kidneys were infected as well.I experienced chills but no fever.I did get lab result in rhumatoid factor -28.I am 42yrs.old.My last urinalysis neg.Please help me.

Was in the ER weekend before last. Diagnosed me with a UTI, and put me on Macrobid 100mg BID. Got a call yesterday, they said my culture reads that the bacteria in my urine is resistant to Macrobid. So apparently they didn't do a Culture and Sensitivity test when I was in the ER like they should have. I had to pay $50 for the Macrobid that I took, that didn't and wouldn't do diddly-squat for my "UTI". I think I was misdiagnosed and mistrated with the Macrobid.
Chlamydia has never shown resistence to the macrolide antibiotics such as azithromycin nor the tetracylines such as doxycycline. Clindamycin has no effectiveness for treating Chlamydia. Cipro is iffy for both Chlamydia and Enterococcus infections. Ask your Doctor to be sure that the Enterococcus is not a resistent strain , as this is becoming more of a problem, especially here in the US. I hope you are well soon. Take care.
She started me on Macrobid and told me to take another test. When reading the leaflet for the home pregnancy test it says antibiotics can effect the resulst so should i take the test or wait till the antibiotics are done.
s and started experiencing symptoms such a urethral burning and pain while urinating several months ago. I took Macrobid that I already had at home assuming it was a UTI. The symptoms seemed to come and go. They worsened around April, and I was diagnosed with chlamydia. I'm not sure when I contracted, but I believe it's possible I had it for a few months before being diagnosed.
I do know that the weakness and numbness in one side can be caused by the MS, but it did not occur until i took the macrobid. I was stopped from taking the macrobid and started on it 2 more times and each time the weakness returned. Is there anyway to fix this? It is getting rather annoying and saddens me cause it feels like i cant do anymore what i like to. If anyone has had the same thing happen, please let me know im not alone... How can the weakness and numbness be stopped.
This is month will mark six months of twitching which has gotten worse as the months pass. Other than the annoying feeling and always being tired (perhaps that's just being a mom of 3) and some recent few and minor headaches (could be the holidays) I feel fine.
Is this syndrome known to be progressive?
If you have the similar symptoms what do you feel was the trigger? Other than the meds I cannot figure it out!!
