Common Questions and Answers about Why does my cat throw up after he eats

1615999 tn?1307465542 Is there any way to stop this behavior? He tends to then throw it up and that has to be one of the nastiest things to clean up after! lol Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated!
Avatar n tn He has been taking Reglan four times a day for the last 7 months without much relief. After he eats he must sit down for at least an hour or any amount of physical activity will induce vomiting. I have to limit his food to make sure he does not get too full and vomit. It's not any type of certain foods that trigger it, he seems to throw up everything. I'm not sure where to go from here since the Reglan is the only medication recommended for this condition (what ever the condition may be).
2190196 tn?1338204047 She was a beautifully healthy, well fed cat up until the procedure. I can't help feeling that it's my fault she's now struggling, all because I couldn't stand the racket she made when in heat. I broke my cat!
Avatar n tn (it's kind of amusing how so many patients say their doc is the one of the best, but my doc is pretty dang good! he he) anyway, he told me that it was a good thing that I have been able to keep my inflammation down by my supplementation regimen, diet, etc etc all these many years...He also said he couldn't stress enough, the importance of a good diet....
12457380 tn?1428844423 ) I had my male cat neutered 2yrs ago and after the surgery, after some hours when he woke, he was making the uncomfortable-seems in pain meow! well that's understandable after all. and he was not hard to handle coz of his kind nature. so my concern is, my female cat will be in much pain coz the surgery will be complicated compared to a male cat right?? :( as much as I want to, this concerns of mine is hindering me.
Avatar n tn I have a couple of questions about my male cat. I've had him for 8 years and for many years he has been throwing up after eating. He has been to the vet for check ups and is healthy, I think he eats too quickly or too much because when he has thrown up the cat biscuits are still whole, like he doesn't chew. He will then go straight back to the food bowl and eat more, which I will take off him at that point. Is there anyway I can teach him to eat slowly, could this do any damage to him?
145992 tn?1341348674 So I changed it and told him he was a selfish f-ck and that I sit and watch Armaggedon for the hundreth time but he can't just wait until my show was over. He told me he doesn't force me to watch the movies, that I can go to another room if I don't want to watch. I said, it wasn't about the damn tv or the movies, its the simple fact that I can't enjoy anything or he doesn't even just think, hey I'm busy let me just leave it alone.
541150 tn?1306037443 He will sleep in there. The cat tree is like a gym to my other cat. Abby considers that a nice cozy bed. He used to play Fetch. Not anymore. I do notice that when I introduce new toys Abby will hold back and let Dillan have all the fun even though he is just as curious and wants to play just as much. The only thing I have that makes him run a bit is the laser. But when Dillan jumps in Abby stops playing. Always.....for everything we do....when Dillan joins us....Abby stops, turns around.......
931246 tn?1297906251 yes neutered, its been a week and half since it was done. All my friends have never seen it happen with a cat before.
501205 tn?1227349042 In the middle of the night while I am sleeping he will get on the bed and meow in my face until I get up and get him food. If I lock him out of my room he meows at the top of his lungs in front of my door until I wake him up. He will go on like this for hours. He will also do this to my roomate who then feeds him because its impossible to sleep. Now its started to make a racket even when he has food because he wants one of us to follow him to the food bowl and sit near him while he eats.
203342 tn?1328740807 She never gets hairballs, I guess because she's not a long haired cat. She probably just has a sensitive stomach. She does tend to throw up every time I take her to the vet too. We'll try to find something that works and I'll let you all know, thanks.
Avatar m tn Help! I am at my wits end with one of my cats. He is a 3 year old male inside cat. We adopted him from a shelter when he was 8 weeks old. First, the vomiting issue. Since he was small, he has vomited on a regular basis. He will vomit once a day, for three or four days and then stop for a week or two and then start the cycle all over again. His vomiting can be at any time. He could be sleeping and jump up and vomit or it could be while he is playing.
12679876 tn?1426981493 and watch for anything he passes I was going to mention also, anytime my one cat Sami eats dry food he also gets blood in his poop....allergic to an additive or IBD? not sure...just when he's eating dry food.
Avatar n tn He eats twice a day, and most times when he throws up he has food down, he just isnt eating it. But he seems to enjoy the food when he eats it. Is there something else that could cause his throwing up bile other than an empty stomach?
Avatar f tn I feed her atleast 2 of them a day and she keeps losing weight, she is now skin and bones, i check her throw up and feces and no worms, my husband said he thinks its a tape worm.. I dont have the money to take her to a vet im having a baby in 2 months plus having a sick cat around a newborn I heard was not good.
1356964 tn?1302091035 I am just curious, as my 2 1/2 year old inside cat Spook developed a urinary infection with scant crystals 3 weeks ago and was put on Clavamox at first but could not tolerate it . It made him throw up and he developed very soft , unformed stools. He then was given Baytril, this worked so much better for him. Second UA showed more crystals but no infection so he was put on Special diet for a month consisting of crappy prescription Royal Canin S/O and Cosequin .
172411 tn?1287089865 I bought my kitten a lotion that's called Cat Allergy Relief and my bf's skin has improved. This only happens whenever he touches my cat. Can you guys recommend me do something? My cat is still a baby so if I take him out of my room he'll start crying and it just hurts me and plus he wont let anyone sleep. I told bf not to touch kitten but he likes it so much he says he cannot have a pet and not touch it.
Avatar f tn I know, eewww) so why she turns her nose up at cat food is beyond me. My cat does seem to drink quite well. I am now worried that I am damaging her internals with nothing but dry. Maybe I should try like a can of wet per week? Or is that not enough? Do you mix it with the dry? What brand/type is best (most healthy)? I'm a little concerned about the wet food upsetting her stomach....
Avatar f tn He gave him an anti-inflammatory injection and it stopped for a while. Then, years later, someone shot my cat through his eye and he is now blind, and he continued to take fur off his leg. Then the problem got worse, he started taking it off his side down to his paw, now hes started taking it off his other back leg. He was shot about 4 years ago now. Im wondering if hes allergic to something. I cant believe its his nerve ending when he has now started on his other side.
1358341 tn?1282213443 Plenty of personnal answers about my cat in my SPAM box! Why does Yahoo takes answers of my questions as SPAMS ? grrrrrr I'm angry with Yahoo. Any way thank you Gaétan Simard from Probiavi Feline and Bird Probiotics from having personally answered each e-mail I sent to commercial people not having personal e-mail of scientists. Thank you !!!
Avatar n tn My cat is very sick. He started with throwing up food and now it's down to clear liquid. He don't have any energy, that's to not eating and drinking hopefully. He's been like this for 2 days now. We called the vet and was told it could be a hair or string wrapped around his tongue. Our house is so safe, so I don't think it's a string. She said that he would have to be sedated to check out the back of his tongue. Has anyone come across this with one of your cats? PLEASE help me, if you can...

Avatar n tn I end up throwing it up like my stomach rejects the food and after i throw up i feel great the pains are still there but, i can breathe. I have been to the doctor they told me i have colitis. I have been in and out of the emergency room many times, they told me they dont know. So i had a colonoscopy and they found hemroids. So they set up an appointment for the same thing but, down my throat. I am just wondering what the hell is going on. I know my body and i know when there's something wrong.
Avatar n tn It is clear that his motives are that he cares...While he was doing my scan he was relieved, as I was, and told me that it is hard for him too when results aren't good, as well as the person getting the scan. He does research and reading all day long, he came here to find out about Alina and found us with all these questions and wanted to help and has stayed. We are blessed! He doesn't see patients much anymore, so it is good to have the human contact too.
Avatar n tn It's almost like he needs some water or need to calm down. When he has his next vet visit I will bring it up. You have put my mind at ease for now.....
Avatar n tn Just to follow-up. It is now Friday...over one week after my EGD. Ironically, the sternum pain that radiates to my back is most likely cause from my gallbladder. I had an ultrasound on Wednesday and they found a lot of gallstones. I had a HIDA scan today and am waiting for the results. I see a surgeon on Monday. I wonder if a lot of reasons people get the EGD end up being the gallbladder. Mine was chest pain (bottom of my sternum) that radiated into my back between my shoulder blades.
Avatar m tn I really don't know whats up with him - Is he depressed? Should I start taking him out more then once? He does have a bit of a wobbly leg which is why he only gets one long walk a day but ever since he was a puppy he has got one walk a day. Someone is ALWAYS home with him, he is never alone. Is he to dependent on us? What should I do? Thanks for reading and hopefully I can get some kind of help - Do they do doggy shrinks?
2109330 tn?1334150162 From what I have been told, he has his own family now- only sees my sisters around once every 2 years. I also know he may have been a bad influence (he once said to my eldest sister when she wanted this hat just to put in her bag and walk out the store) both my sisters have been caught shoplifting before. I only think they were mean to me was sometimes for a laugh (blocking a door, so I'm trapped in a room. Both leaving me in a room without telling me their was a rat in their.
Avatar f tn So dizzy that he can hardly walk, can’t open his eyes and has started to throw up from the feeling it is getting so bad. He describes it to me like having a very bad case of the drunk spins. The first time his episodes came on, he was out to dinner at a fast food restaurant with our oldest son. Suddenly Ryan got very dizzy and lost his sight and his balance and almost drunkenly made his way to the car.
Avatar n tn Avelleno there who said that I most certainly did NOT have Chiari (after he asked why I was there...hmmm...shouldn't he know that, he had my file) he brought my MRI up on his computer screen and did a quick measurement on the screen, said I didn't have tonsills that were distended so where did I come up with my information. I was devistated.
