Just makes the pain go away from tummy down to toes no weird side effects u feel 100% normal. It didn't hurt to get one the contractions hurt like heck. I give so much props to the moms who go natural.
The epidural doesn't hurt i had one with my first child i had natural birth with my second and going to do natural with this baby as well.

It happened yesterday, and it was a painful tightening of my uterus. It started at the top of it, and then traveled down. It hurt. Bad. (I can't even imagine what bad contractions feel like!) It lasted around 30 seconds, and then I had another one about 10 minutes later, and that was it.
Labor is so short really compared with motherhood. Contractions do get intense and painful, and honestly, no other experience comes close to what you will experience during labor. But if contractions were so horrible that women absolutely couldn't give birth without pain relief, our species would never have survived. You are stronger than you know.
Mine hurt not even going to lie about it. When they put it in they didn't get it right and had to start over. The first time they put it in there was this horrible grinding feeling. I also was so numb for delivery I couldn't feel when I was contracting or anything. Everyone is different and honestly it is just a choice you have to make. Each labor is different as well I would suggest leaving the option open and do it only if you absolutely need to.

Braxton hicks should never be painful, uncomfortable yes. I'd ask the doctor, they shouldn't feel painful, mine always just felt weird almost like my belly was suctioning to the baby and very hard!
Good morning, Lady! Ugh! I had 24 hours of back contractions with #2 (lol considering where it hurt). I was miserable but he just wouldnt turn, so every time I felt one coming I'd stand over a counter leg more than shoulderwidth apart and rock my hips side to side. It took a while but finally he rolled. He's 11 now and we tease him about directions and trying to come out my rear end! Really thats how it feels, low back menstrual cramping and having to poo....glamorous, right?
My contractions where not that painful. I went into the hospital when they where 1-2 minutes apart. So you might be having what they call first stage of labor.
Those sound like contractions when i started to feel them really bad to where i couldnt even talk threw them i was 7 centimeters it all depends on u how much u can take the pain but those defitnily sound like contractions congrats gurl!

It isnt my whole belly tightening or hurting just where it would hurt if i was on my period aka lower stomach. They are really regular for the past 2 hours each lasting about 60 seconds amd are between 8 and 9 minutes apart. But from what i have been told they arent what would be called comtractions? I have also been having really light brown discharge that smells like old blood but it isnt mucusy?
but there wasnt a definite low, like the pain was always there just kicked up at times so it was hard to time....it just hurt the whole time.
t hurt they are just notable tightenings but I also have an irritable uterus so I also have uterine contractions that are uncomfortable and sometimes hurt a little often that are stronger then Braxton hicks ever are.
So i went to the hospital they said i was having contractions but i didnt feel nothing just went my stomach would tighten...but no dialation.????
