Common Questions and Answers about When did skelaxin go generic

skelaxin

Avatar f tn Having some very bad lower back pain today that tylenol isn't touching. I was wondering about Skelaxin. I have some and have taken it in the past...but don't even remember side effects or how I felt taking it or anything. Is this addictive?Anybody know anything about it? Thanks!
Avatar m tn I am prescribed Celebrex and skelaxin. I have a question about the skelaxin. Well my job is physically demanding I work in a hospital I do patient care I "boost" patients, transport patients, help very unsteady patients get out of bed and walk. So quite often I need to take my skelaxin. My lower back tightens up and I just need some relief. I have been taking it a bit more often than I did say 6 months ago.
Avatar m tn My pain clinic is no longer writing for soma. I have had flexeril, robaxin, skelaxin before and they aren't as effective. What can I try?
Avatar m tn Skelaxin I got prescribed when I got in a car accident for a muscle relaxer, It didnt really do much of anything but make me feel like gumby, drunk and out of it. Its not for chronic or severe pain BUT it is for MUSCLE pain, like muscle spasms. From being a former EMT (Paramedic) I know it works in the brain to help with the relaxation of muscle pain, its also used for physical therapy with people with back problems.
684012 tn?1227990456 I have been seeing this neruro dr for about 5 months now she did diagnoise me with fibromyalgia, cfs, & neuropathy. We are trying to find ways to control the pain. When I take the Ultram, it makes my face break out with little bumps on my checks. Has this happenned to anyone else? My current meds are really not working, I have to go between Ultram & Vicodin, and Skelaxin for a muscle relaxer. I use Lyrica but is causes my ankles and hands to swell.
Avatar f tn Hi and sorry about your neck/back injury. Flexeril does work a lot better. I was on it for 9 months. It wasn't too hard to get off of. Skelaxin didn't work as well for me either but did work some as I felt it after I got of of it. For short term I would take Flexeril at night (5mg). Apparently Skelaxin doesn't work for you.Flexeril only works for 3 weeks then it is a sleeping pill really. I would go on an off as needed.
Avatar m tn But good for u for not goin back to the narcotics cause it is easy for us to go back to them when we really are in pain cause our mind will tell us that we need the narcotics cause we r dying cause the pain is so bad even tho it isn't that bad at all.
450140 tn?1317947304 I was on Skelaxin briefly last year. My PCP and I did not feel that Baclofen was doing anything, so he switched me. I think it was 3X daily. It just didn't work well for me and I went back on Baclofen. I do not tolerate a lot of meds well, so don't let that dissuade you from skelaxin. Hope it helps you. Good luck!
402205 tn?1230481005 Everybody's different. I tried them before for this when I started with w/d s/s after weaning. They made me feel "weired out" and I did not like the feeling. While they also did not work for me, I was only tried on one med. Lots of people have success with them. So I say, it's worth a try. There are lots of them, so if something doesn't work and you wanna stick with it, ask to try another. You won't relapse.
Avatar n tn I don't think that amount of wine alone would elevate you enzymes but with the drugs you're taking I really don't know. I believe that Skelaxin may be associated with elevated liver enzymes is some people but again, I am not sure of this. I would Google all of the drugs you're taking with the word "liver" or "hepatic" eg "Skelaxin Liver".
Avatar f tn oh and broke down and took a muscle relaxer. skelaxin. this shouldn't be a problem right? found an old script. ibuprofen was not cutting it.
Avatar f tn With the addition of Cytomel, I felt great and was able to eat a normal amount of food without gaining weight. When I changed insurance coverage, I had to use the generic form of T3. It didn't work like the Cytomel did. Has anyone ever heard of such a thing? My labs were not different on the Cytomel, but I felt so much better. (Unfortunately, when I decided to go back on the Cytomel after a year on the generic, I had an allergic reaction to it so can't take it.
Avatar f tn My dad was taking Skelaxin and when he would take it he would be a little messed up. My dad quickly stopped taking it and they put him on Effexor which caused some side effects such as dizziness, insomnia, and upper respiratory problems. Never taken them personally, but that is what I have heard. I would immagine those would also be addictive also, maybe not as bad, but still dependence would set in. GOOD LUCK ...
Avatar f tn I've had pain in my shoulder as a result of workers comp. My ortho says I need to get my rotator cuff shaved down. I've been given carisoprodol (generic soma) but only 20 of them...I've had the bottle now 5 months, they don't help. I still lie awake in pain...and when I use my Enar device it rarely helps. I've used Biofreeze as well...that usually tells my brain to sleep. I've tried stupid mind games to get me off of thinking of the pain ie: comp games, reading, music...
1110049 tn?1409402144 Hey Maddie! I'm glad to hear you're back on the brand name and feeling better!! This is one of those never ending debates (generic vs brand). Doctors are pretty resistant to believe that there is ANY difference and are quick to say "it's in your head", and that simply isn't ALWAYS the case. The truth is, there ARE differences. They are complicated and hard to explain, but they are there.
Avatar n tn I have had some kind of cold/flu, sinusitis (all in one) for about three weeks. Finally I went to the doctor she prescribes antibiotics, anticough medicine etc. I also developed somehow a muscle spams around my neck aparently due to excesive coughing. The pain became the worst ever to the point of tears. The doctor prescribed skelaxin 800mg, it didn't help, then I added 400mg Advil.. The pain somehow got better, but still there. So Went for Motrin 800mg with Skelaxin, didn't help.
Avatar f tn ve taken, both, generic levothyroxine (T4) and liothyronine (T3), as well, as brand name Synthroid and Cytomel. I did better on on generic levo than I did on Synthyroid... I've been taking generic liothyronine for over 5 yrs and have done just as well as I did on Cytomel. I don't think you'll have any difficulty, with generic T3, but if you do, you can always go back to Cytomel.
Avatar m tn Ive never did oxy is my entire life, but i know people who did em and its all over the net what they can do ....ive tried a few valium and perks but never really got into pills either...more of a drinkn guy and smokn mary jane...
Avatar m tn I started seeing a neurologist two weeks ago and he put me on the prednisone and skelaxin he also did a MRI (w/o contrast) that came back negative. Over the past 7-8 days I have lost almost all taste and my mouth is super dry (wierd to explain), I have a tingling feeling in my bottom lip and there feels like pressure (almost like someone is squeezing) my arms off and on-- could have nothing to do with any of this. My question after is..
Avatar f tn Please post your FT3, FT4 and TSH results with reference ranges. Your symptoms could be related to your FT3 and FT4 levels more than to generic vs. brand name. My endo also thinks that brand name drugs are more consistent. I go along with him since it's a small point to concede. I've been on generic, Synthroid and Levoxyl at one time or another, and, quite frankly, I see no difference whatsoever. Different brands have different fillers, and sometimes these cause problems.
