If you all will look at the HealthPages, I did one on other ovarian cancer sites. At the bottom is Side Effects Help and a link to mayo clinic that has all the info you all listed and so much more. Please take a look at it and let me know if you think it is inclusive enough for nausea. I found it very thourough. Somehow we need to get the regulars on here to look at the HealthPages more so you all can tell others what is on there.
Hi folks, my husband is at the last week of the telepravir, but he is now very sick sometimes. What helps for the nausea, do you have tips? And, will that be less when he is only on ribra and interferon? And what do you use for the anaemia - because I have been reading that iron is not good, de virus loves the iron. Thanks!
Talk to your Dr about getting zofran. I'm 10 weeks and have been taking zofran since about 5 weeks. Eat small meals or snack every few hours, having an empty stomach makes nausea worse.
They give people the impression that the medication is unsafe. Your doctor has taken an oath to care for you and do the best in terms of this. Zofran is used by millions of people without incident (myself included). I would not let tv commercials and a rare reporting of a side effect rule what you do. Trust your doctor.
Every single commercial you see regarding a drug hits the rare side effects at the very end. Zofran is used in labor routinely and safely. I had to have it in both of my deliveries due to nausea and vomiting (seems I am a total wimp and that is part of my pain reaction).
Listen to any drug add and they, at the very end, list a couple of things that according to the package inserts on these drugs is are very low but legally they have to mention them in order to broadcast an ad.
I tried to take the pills but I was way to sick for that! So I have been on the Zofran pump (pumps Zofran into my stomach 24 hours a day) for the last 3 months. It's been "Heaven sent" for me! I lost 28 pounds in my first trimester and was unable to eat or drink anything for 11 weeks! Now because of the pump, I can eat anything and have gained 3 of those pounds back!
Try tums for heartburn they are safe during pregnancy and zofran is a b class drug and is considered somewhat safe during pregnancy but there also has been birth defects but if you can't keep anything down then I would take the chance. Try gingerale and crackers first before putting your baby in any possible harm but if you can't keep anything down I think it would be worth taking zofran to stop the vomiting.
I have been using phenergan/promethazine it's an antihistamine for nausea and itching, it made me sleepy until I got used to it. It works well for me on the nausea and I guess the itching as well as I haven't had to much of a problem with that yet.
m almost 23 weeks and I had the usual vomiting in the first tri but from 14-16 weeks I was fine. But ever since 17 weeks until now my vomiting is getting worst. I take zofran when I feel nauseous but I still throw up. What else can I do. I usually throw up when I wake up from naps. Or after my breakfast.
