Common Questions and Answers about What is temodar used for

temodar

Avatar f tn We know the tumor is in a slightly different area than it was originally. He is in treatment (Temodar for the second time) for the third recurrence of his tumor. We have always been told it is in an area where surgery has not been an option. The oncologist does say he believes it is a higher grade. We think he believes it is glioblastoma but he won't say that definitely without doing another biopsy.
1515784 tn?1387197290 My daughter is 3 weeks into radiation/Temodar and so far they have not prescribed any steroids. She is beginning to lose some hair the last couple days but it isn't like they described. They told her it would be patches in the area she is being treated but thus far, it is random strands and with long hair hard to know where it is exactly coming from.
1524669 tn?1291423170 From what I can find - your diet is not really a diet - however, since your immune system is compromised, avoid raw foods like sushi, and make sure things are well cooked and prepared in such a way that you don't get any food borne illnesses - so avoiding take out food, for example. You have to keep everything clean to prevent infections. You may not have appetite, so eat often. Also, make sure you get protein - so eat eggs (well cooked), meats, nuts, beans to get protein.
Avatar f tn this is known as off labeling...where a drug is intended for one purpose but used for another....in this case insomnia......
Avatar f tn There are a lot of factors in prognosis. How large and how invasive the tumor is, where it is located, how much they can remove with surgery, his health before the tumor, etc, etc... Radiation itself is pretty hard on the body, and can cause necrosis and inflammation. I am sure he made the decision, hopefully, after discussion with his doctors and careful consideration, decided his treatment course.
Avatar f tn He has been on suboxone for probably 7 years now. He is currently taking his suboxone but is not getting any relief for his head pain. The oncologist put him back on a steroid last week for swelling in his brain. That is adding to his sadness and anger. He feels awful and is extremely depressed. We have gone back and forth with his oncologists, GP and yesterday his pain clinic (whom he doesn't like). We just can't give him any relief.
Avatar f tn I have never heard of those measurements in a report either. I have no idea what TR is - cc is usually a volume and ap may mean approximate - but I am purely guessing. It would make no sense to mix volume and length in one measurement either - so I don't think my guess is valid. In the following text they use regular mm measurements which is easier to understand. 18mm is around 7/10 of an inch. 20 is .79 and inch and 23mm is just under an inch (an inch is 25mm) about the size of a quarter.

Avatar n tn Welcome to the medhelp neurology forum. Thanks for writing in. I empathise with you for what your husband is going though. Gliobastoma multiforme is the most common and most malignant of the glial tumors. Changes in personality, mood, mental capacity, and concentration may be observed along with the other symptoms of a brain tumor. Also the disease, its treatment must have been so very taxing for him, for depression to set in.
Avatar m tn Because you are playing "what if". We could be here for hours comeing up with "what if". If a condom is reused it is not easy to get on, it would be a struggle.
Avatar n tn I came across some soma and really do not know what it is for. is it a narcotic? is it addictive?
822617 tn?1249596523 I have never posted a poll before. Hopefully this will work. I just wanted if anyone used preseed or preconceive or nothing and got a bfp. Thanks again for your replies!
794236 tn?1238016706 so, that is what they told me that i have 'mixo-papillary ependymoma'. the surgeon said at the time that i had it growing for at least 16years. in march 2000 i had the operation and 70% was removed. i had radiotherapy for a whole month. my tumor extended from L1 to S1, something big. since then, my pain decreased considerably and i can proceed with my my part-time lecturing. i am 64 years.
Avatar n tn Well, its most common use is for anxiety - which is fairly common for people with ADHD. You can read more about it here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Propranolol What I don't understand is why your doctor didn't explain this to you. Especially if you are prone to anxiety, the not knowing only makes it worse.
