Wow...that's awful! While I never had a reaction like Freddie's....I do believe Ranitidine made me persistently nauseous for an entire year straight. I've had GERD, a hiatal hernia and stomach problems for years. After a long stint with Nexium, I decided to get on a non-PPI and something more minor. Ranitidine was the suggestion. Though I've always struggled with nausea here and there....for a year of my life I struggled with nausea constantly. Almost every single day.

A month and a week ago (March 3rd) I took alka seltzer but I took it without water by mistake. I started with a burning stomach and pain when passing food. I went to the ER that weekend and the doctor gave me Pepcid because he thought I had Gastritis. It helped a bit but my abdominal pain,bloating,heartburn, food feeling stuck at night, and belching continued.

Have a sensitive stomach and get burning pains especially if food has chilly or is strong in acid. Ranitidine has helped but from time to time suffer missing hearbeats. Having given up the drug for a while things improved but stomach started to suffer again and thus the reason to re-start the drug.

If still you are not responding reevaluation is needed and 24 hours pH monitoring test may be done for confirmation. Sometimes it could be due to bile reflux and the treatment is different. If acid reflux is confirmed and not responding to medical therapy then surgery might have to be done. I would also suggest that esophageal manometry be done to rule out esophageal spasms which can cause similar symptoms.

Not sure if this is a Gallbladder issue or if your GERD symptoms are worsening. Plus, you have a history of Asthma. Difficult to say what is causing what without imaging. I would also consult your physician about changing meds. Is your reflux worsening as well along with the bloating, ribcage pain and the breathing difficulty?

Most of the time the phlegm comes out without much strain. But the frequency is so high I had to stay near wash basin for sometime. When I lie down it triggers cough and during night this process is frequent. And it is there throughout the year.phlegm is present in my throat most of the time. Ialso experience burning sensation and pungent burping after eating food. I get immediate temporary relief when I take warm water.

Hi I have had severe Hives for 2 mos. This is the worse outbreak I've ever had, and my last case of Hives was 9 yrs ago. I was in the ER 2x this past month, put on IV steroids, antihistamines & Ranitidine. I had extensive blood work done for a multitude of alleries- all negative, Lupus, Lympoma, Lymes disease, CAT scan, all negative. I've done 2 rounds of Presnisone (which helped greatly), but 2 days after the last Prednisone pill- boom the hives came back bad.
