After having unprotected sex the head of my penis got itchy in the inside of the hole and had a very little amount of discharge. I searched the net to find the answer and the closest to my symptom is urethritis. Upon reading through the forums related to STDs, found out that some folks were prescribed with ofloxacin. Without consulting a doctor, I am self medicating now after googling what's ofloxacin is for. 3 days ago I took 2 400mg and subsequently 200mg every 12 hours.
s worth of Ofloxacin oral to help fight what was perceived to be chronic prostatitis. Part of me thinks that taking so much of that antibiotic, perhaps unnecessarily, has led to a persistent rash on my forehead. The rash looks a bit like acne - small, red bumps, with slight blackheads - but looks scaly, dry, and really just like a number of small, spread out red bumps.
I checkeed with thedoctor with test report of urinalysis and blood CBC. In Urine,they found WBC of 33 and no bacteria..Gave me ofloxacin for 1more week.
I checked with a dermatologist and they said there was no rash or red spots in the penis

My thought this was Herpes and went for second opinion at different std clinic, doctor was skeptical but gave 5 day supply of acyclovir 400 mg 3x day and took herpes test, hiv and urine culture
the following 4 days things started to dissipate except for lymph nodes in neck became hard and swollen for about 1.5 days. FYI i was taking the uribel, doxycycline,ofloxacin and acyclovir at this time along with l-lysine, b complex vitamin and multivitamin.
First of all a blood test for chalmydia? your doc is not up on STDS. You should have ahd a urine test. These tests look for the DNA and are incredibly reliable they can find one drop of chalmydia in an ocean. I doubt seriously you have anything to worry about especially with no symptoms. You had the cure like I cannot even count how many times and there really is not too much resistant chlamydia to doxycycline which is the cure.
from all the antibiotics i finished and took, i find ofloxacin the most effective. is it safe to take ofloxacin again for 7 days, twice a day? or will the bacteria i have get immuned to it? im planning to go to the doc tomorrow and probably ask for a injection this time and std check up if they can.
One thing that worries me, I read in some websites, Ofloxacin will mask Syphilis test or symptoms. And I think, Inoflox is Ofloxacin? How about Amoxicilin and Zinnat? My concern is all these antibiotics might mask the Syphilis infection, if I was infected from the exposure causing false negative in the test.
Need your advice on this, doctor. What should I do next?
I am a long term heterosexual relationship and the symptoms seemed to come out of the blue. The only definite symptom is a red and inflamed tip of my penis which has been constant for the 10 weeks and I have tested negative for clamydia, gonnerhea, a uti and nsu as well as positive for a uti and nsu over the 10 weeks. The latest test last week showed no uti but showed ten wbc from a penis swab so obviously still inflammation present.
