Thanks so much. I had an ultrasound the same visit he put me on Loestrin- no sign of cysts or fibroids. And I agree, hormonal BC is ridiculous! I'm amazed I have such awful reactions when other women seem to do fine.
I am very weight-conscious, so I am worried that on the pill, I am going to gain weight. This is one of my biggest fears, because I used to be a bit heavier and never want to go back to that. I am just SO nervous that I am going to gain weight and my running will be negatively impacted on the lo loestrin fe. Does anyone know if lo loestrin fe causes any weight gain or does anyone have any positive/negative experience with it?
I also took lo loestrin for about a month and stopped right before the brown pills because I was also feeling depressed. The day after I stopped I got hives on my back, neck, and stomach around the time that I was supposed to take my brown pill. Not sure if it would happen that quickly but its a possibility.
I have been on lo loestrin fe for the past 4 months. This past month I had breakthrough bleeding. I've been told that breakthrough bleeding means that I am not protected anymore, but does that mean that my pills were not working for the entire month prior to breakthrough or just the time after that? Could I have gotten pregnant before breakthrough even if I had taken pills regularly?

I am waiting out a surgery to see if any hormone therapy will do the trick because I have to pay out of pocket. The doctor wants me to try loestrin 24 for 3 months. My question is, does anyone have experience with both? I hate to second guess my doctor, but I am wondering how a lower dose can do better for me than Yaz? Also, I have been extremely depressed since a month or two after starting Yaz, and I turned down anti-depressants in hopes that a new medication will help with that.
If she is pregnant, she should also check with her doctor, of course.
It is possible that the pills delayed her ovulation and that is the reason for the delayed period. ALSO two things--the side effects become much more tolerable and diminish if you give the pills a little longer AND don't forget about emergency contraception ( eg. Plan B, Next Choice) that is available
at most pharmacies without a prescription.

Ok, my best friend thinks she's pregnant or that there's a possibility. She says she doesn't feel sick or anything but has all the symptoms of early pregnancy except vomitting. Her temperature is 102. She used a regular thermometer. What do ya'll think?? Is she preggo even while using a regular thermometer? Is this an indicator? Oh, btw, her last cycle was March 28th and ended April 1 but was very light. She has regular periods but had recently been taking antibiotics.
Hey everyone. So this is the story. Last summer, I went on Loestrin Birth Control Pills.I was on it for about three months, then stopped taking it. Since them, I've had bad anxiety/depression. This might sound crazy, but I was wondering if the hormones could have somehow permanently altered my hormones/moods? And if there's anything I can do to reverse it. Thanks for the feedback everyone.
ve been told that its 1mg of norethindrone is still pretty androgenic especially for those who already have an imbalance. Would Mircette be an option with desogestrel being less angrogenic? Also, any experience with prescribed HALF tab of OC? (ie. instead of Loestrin 1/20.. use 0.5/10 for hormonal imbalance?) Just concerned about initial breakout.

I started Lo Loestrin Fe oral birth control pill on January 14, 2014 after being off of it since Thanksgiving of 2013. Previously I had constant break-though bleeding (more like a period- for even 2 and a half weeks) and cramps. I switched to Microgestin and that made me so sick I stopped, and then restarted Lo Loestrin Fe.
I have taken it everyday and have never missed a pill.
I am also trying to figure out which is the best one. I don't want the depo definitely. I rather not have the pill because Im worried I'll forget. And I was thinking about the 5yr iud but then I heard many bad things about it. So now I'm back at square one ;( what is the implant? And also what is the loestrin 24??
BUT from March 20-30 I took antibiotics for a sinus infection. I was still on Loestrin but I stopped taking it March 29th because I hadn't had my period since January 5th and I was feeling pregnant. Anyway, I started bleeding April 1-4. I started my new pills Ortho on April 6th. Now I'm feeling VERY CRAMPY in my stomach. I've just read that some people have gotten pregnant on this pill because it is low estrogen. I'm just wondering...
My breast have been sore for the past month. I recently just started a new birth control could that be why? I am currently on my period so I don't think it's pregnancy, is it?
Today i am taking second brown pill, which is also the last one...i feel menstrual pain for a few days, but no menstruation. I am worried! Is pregnancy possible if i had intercourse with my bf (while i was on the pill) but he had never ejaculated inside? It is written that lo loestrin fe is protecting you from the first day if u are starting on the first day of your period. Thats how i did. But why is my period not coming?
