differin

Avatar n tn I got Differin from the doctor and used it for 6 months with no results. Is he to young to start to serious ritual? He is adopted and his birth mom has very serious acne. He is very worried about all these pimples. He started getting them at nine. The doctor told me they aren't really acne but I forgot what he called them so I could look them up.
Avatar m tn A couple years ago I was put on a cream that noticeably decreased and practically eradicated the acne I had. The cream contained adapelene, however, it was eventually taken off my insurance and became far too expensive. I used this cream in the winter, and as such I never had to worry about the risk of sun exposure with it. Recently I was told that Differin became over the counter, and worked well for acne. I didn't really know what was in it at the time, but it worked phenomenally!

Avatar f tn Ok so I have been prescribed differin gel for "acne" problems. I recently had a huge one with deep cyst (when i touch it i can feel hardness under the skin)...then it formed a white head and oozed a lot of pus (and some blood) after which it stopped being painful. My question is can I still keep on applying differin gel on top of the acne even though it's "broken" skin? The differin seems to help calm the inflammation pretty quick and dry it out...
Avatar f tn The best topical lotion in my opinion is Differin. It can be as effective as topical Isotretinoin but is usually much better tolerated, with little or no redness and peeling. It is even more effective when used in conjunction with oral antibiotics. I have taken Accutane twice (20% of patients require a second course) with good results, please see my photos in my profile. I am happy to discuss any concerns you have about this drug. Eloise.
Avatar f tn this is known as off labeling...where a drug is intended for one purpose but used for another....in this case insomnia......
Avatar m tn re still not clear, it does make sense to try something different. And Differin 0.3% is an excellent product, not a bad change from Retin-A, again since you're still not clear. If this regiment doesn't work, your doctor may consider some other regimen or perhaps Accutane. Best. Dr.
Avatar m tn Folliculitis in an infection of the hair follicles. You doctor may prescribe an antibiotic for you to treat that (if it is that) and for the acne. There are also antibiotic creams that your doctor could prescribe if he felt that would help and antifungal creams that are also antibacterial. In the meantime do not apply any harsh products on to your face and avoid any perfumed soaps and shower gels and shaving lotions. Simple soap is fairly cheap and unperfumed.
Avatar n tn Dermatologists have found that the best prescription acne gel is Differin. Differin is especially effective when used in conjunction with oral treatment such as antibiotics or anti-androgens (for females only).
Avatar m tn The differin cream I applied on my face every single night for two months ago is not helping, the doctor said it will help me to clear up my oily nose and blackheads , seem not helping at all. And every morning I wake up, my nose is always flooded with oil, And whenever i wipe off the oils, within few moments it comes back again, I really don't know what's going on, because the oil production only occurs on my nose area but face is not producing oil and not oily at all !
Avatar m tn Since I turned 25, I started getting pimples here and there. The acne worsened throughout the year into cystic acne on the cheeks when I moved overseas. I lived overseas for a year, then moved back to the states, where all my acne disappeared for two months. It returned again slowly, starting out with a small rash (which went away with Desonide Cream .05%), then milia/whiteheads all over my cheeks, and then red pimples with white pus spreading from my cheeks to my chin now.
Avatar n tn t know if this strange rash is signaling that something is wrong systemically or what here. My GP is at a loss as he has never seen a rash like this pop out of nowhere on a persons neck only that has a sort of necklace pattern even though I do not wear jewelry nor have I ever had a rash like this. It's flat, angry and looks like a sunburn though it itches like crazy! Anyone have any idea's? I would greatly appreciate any help someone might give here. Thank you.
Avatar m tn I messed with it a little bit, and the next day it had swollen up and was warm, like an infection. Since then, I have been using Abreva and Differin on it. The Differin makes the largest difference – it reduces the size significantly. When it first showed up, it looked a lot like this picture: http://www.adamjbc.f2s.com/dlc/test/Photo-0171.jpg. It no longer has a white tip, and there are two small bumps (neither red nor painful) below it.
Avatar f tn Hi, I have been using differin every alternate nights for 3 months without problems. But just last sun, I rubbed some onto my eyelids and facial rashes started to explode. They were not itchy at first but started to spread and becoming very itchy. My Gp said its contact dermatitis. But how could it be as I have been using it for 3 months? I put hydrocortisone cream on them but nothing seems to subside. Now my whole face is covered with itchy swell rashes. What should I do?
Avatar f tn i have extremely oily skin and i think its because i use my acne medications such as differin and duac but even though i wash my face 3 times a daii it is still oily and its worse during parties because i cant wash my face then..? wat should i doo..any herbal remedies as well?
