Avatar m tn Docs have done many blood tests and say I have mild Diabetes and have me on Metamorphin I believe it is . It is very frustrating but sometimes I drink fluids until I am ready to burst. I am on Avalide for high BP but have talked to others with diabetes ( some on insulin ) and on BP meds and they drink nowhere near whay I do or feel thirsty all the time. My body weight can fluctuate as much as 10 lbs during the week ( daily 3-5 max ) .
Avatar f tn Short term memory is affected also. I find myself sitting at my desk wondering what the heck I was doing and my attention span is very short. I haven't had any head injuries. No significant health problems other than mild hypertension treated with Avalide. My potassium was low (I think due to the HCTZ in the Avalide). I don't drink, smoke or take any recreational drugs. I saw a neurologist, who says the MRI is normal, EEG is not (temporal lobe irregularities). He's on vacation...
Avatar m tn Here is what drugs.
Avatar m tn Hello. I saw a sand like material in my urine this morning. I have seen this a few times before. What is this material? Should I be concerned? I was able to get sample. I have no pain, and I've seen no blood. I am a 55y/o male.
1398693 tn?1343684738 Just wanted to let you know that I saw my doctor and instead of changing it he says that the hydrochlorothiazide is too high and lowered it to 12.5mg he says that my BP is getting to low and that becoming hypokalemic ( Low Potassium ) might be because the hydrochlorothiazide is to high so he cut my dosage down. Also another small note I re-read the information on kidney damage and a GFR of 60 is borderline but I still have to be carefull that it doesn't get any lower so far they're ok.
Avatar f tn I am very concerned about the blood pressure and my resting heart rate is 54 to 60. It is not under any control at all. At times it has gone to 173 over 103, but normally about 148 to 160 over 83 to 96. I have clonidine left over from when I was given it several years ago when I had a problem and when I take it ..sometimes the blood pressure does go down to normal.
1243333 tn?1296446902 I have extensive CAD with mutiplable stent placement in the past 22 months, and have high blood pressure (Usally 180/110 And higher), what effect does the high blood pressure have on CAD and angina. I am on bp meds. (norvasc, imdur, toprol XL, spirolactone, valturna, cattapress tts, iron, dexilant & carfate).
1243333 tn?1296446902 m on numerous bp meds and even so my bp is extremely high (240/140 last Doc appointment), they have termed it malignant, at the last doc appointment she told me I'm going to have a stroke and possible another heart attack, I have repeatedly told all my doc's that I am having major issue with the meds they make me physically ill (to the point I've developed a ulcer), the last hospital stay when they discharged me they told me to tell the doc and they could put me on different meds, b
Avatar m tn Perhaps the condition you have requires a stronger medication. Hydrochlorothiazide is often the first prescribed when blood pressure is elevated, is that why you are taking it?
1553775 tn?1325182402 Is hydrochlorothiazide something that can be discontinued later after my blood pressure lowers or is it a drug that is meant to be taken long term? Has anyone had experience with Paxil causing high blood pressure? Thanks.
Avatar n tn My mom takes that and I've never checked. That's a good question.
Avatar m tn this site really ***** what is the point of making it if there is no one to answer these questions medical help site FAIL!
Avatar m tn I would stop taking it and the numbness/tingle would go away, take it again, and it would come right back. Not sure if he is taking hydrochlorothiazide. They had me on it for edema. I have swelling in my hands and ankles, all tests neg except for CMV. Battling this since April 2008. Hands so swollen, can't open bottles, hold a pen, hold a phone or peel the label off the top of yogurts..ect..
492329 tn?1290883385 I take Avalide 150/12.5 and Atenolol 50 mg, am/pm for Avalide and he did up my Atenolol to twice a day. He wants me to walk 30 mins a day and lose 25 lbs in 6 mos. However, my head aches the minute I more my ears ring to. He seems to think they are not connected. I'm really, really terrified! Oh and I had a heart cath in Oct 2008 all okay, but he did mention an S4 but said it would go away when the pressure comes down.
Avatar f tn I'm presently on atenolol 40 mg (along with hydrochlorothiazide) once daily. I will be transitioning to propanolol 20 mg (and hydrochlorothiazide) twice daily soon - my doctor wants me to transition by taking propanolol - 1/2 of 20 mg twice a day for one week and then the full 20 mg twice daily. Why? Won't that cause rebound hypertension? Thanks.
Avatar m tn What is the reference range for the calcium and what is the exact level of PTH, with reference range? Your calcium seems to be slightly elevated, but that would depend on the reference range used by your lab. How often do you take the 50,000 iu of vitamin D? Maybe you need to take it more often?
Avatar n tn However, this could also be due to some medications such as the combination of lisinopril and hydrochlorothiazide that is used to treat high blood pressure. Lisinopril is in a group of drugs called angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) while Hydrochlorothiazide is in a class of diuretics. Tingling in the hands and feet along with dizziness, headache and cough are some of the effects that are observed in this drug combination.
Avatar f tn I am so confused because I have too many issues that can cause the same symptoms. Recently, my doctor switched me from Valsartan HCTZ to Hydrochlorothiazide plus regular Valsartan for my blood pressure. When I first started it, right away I was having rapid heart beat and shortness of breath so he told me take potassium supplements. That did help but now I am wondering if I am taking too much potassium.
Avatar f tn s odd that both of these causes a symptom like sinus issues as each works differently. Hydrochlorothiazide is just a water pill that lowers BP by removing fluid from your system which will lower BP. I also think your current meds are a bit much, but I do not have a medical degree like your doctors so I would never second guess him. The ARB's work for me and have the fewest side effects, but everyone is different. I guess I would ask him why he has chosen your current meds.
1668318 tn?1306416764 I am wondering if my doctor is testing me for chf shes having me weigh my self every morning and she also put me on Hydrochlorothiazide/Spironolactone com 25 mg each?
Avatar n tn My mom is 83 and is on atenolol 50 Mg in AM and 25 at bedtime. She is also on risperdol, remeron, xanax. She is extremely fatigued. How would one taper the atenolol dose and how safe is it. Her blood presure yesterday was 102/48 which is too low.
492329 tn?1290883385 Try to relax and not worry. My husband is 42 and has blood pressure is as high as yours. He is not worried and on a water pill to bring the blood pressure down. My heart flutters and beats differently at times and sometimes feels strange, but it has done this most of my life and there is nothing found wrong to date. Warning symptoms are chest pains, shortness of breath, water weight gain (gaining a pound every day).
Avatar f tn The only changes that I have made on the past 3 days is that I have been watching what I eat and also the amount. I take Methyldopa, Hydrochlorothiazide, levonthroid, pre-natal vitamins, lupron injections, and Estrace pills. The only new medications that I just started taking is the pre-natal vitamins and the Estrace pills, but I did not have the dark green stool when I took them in the past. I also had diverticulitis 2 yrs ago.
Avatar n tn for probably close to 4 years now. My current primary care says it is just because I take verapamil for migraine prevention but don't have high blood pressure. This doesn't sound reasonable to me. I am 37 and wonder if I need a referral to a cardiologist.
