actos

Avatar n tn I am on metformin and glipized, as well. Is it best to take actos along with these medications to be more effective? This discussion is related to Best time to take meds.
489891 tn?1209058786 My question is y are you taking byetta and actos+met... and I'm on topamx, but for seizures... I'm also on actos plusmet 15/500 just once a day, with a insulin pump ( i take apidra in my pump)... byetta and actos plus met are very similar drugs doing the same thing.. the actos+met will make you gain weight very quickly. How many shots of byetta are you taking a day a long with the actos plus met? and what dose of actos are you taking and why...
1236243 tn?1277680851 I've been on Actos for 9 years and have no problems. Avandia is effectively off the market but ACTOS was not removed. The diabetic educator should know better that suggest someone get off a drug. Suggesting that he/she contact their M.D. was a good idea, but not necessarily required, unless the 'one man in the class' is having noticable adverse side-effects. Rumor monger statements and posts like this one are more scary than it actually should be.
Avatar n tn So your taking insulin (Knowing what kind of insulin is just as important as knowing a how much) AND Actos? Usually when a person goes on Insulin they drop the actos.
Avatar n tn The medicines she takes cause her chest pain, shortness of breath, and make her dizzy. Her blood pressure checks out ok, but is the medicine for the blood pressure causing this pain. Some days she is ok and other days the pain comes in the morning and lasts all day. Of all the medecines she takes which is most likely the culprit. Is there any alternatives.
Avatar f tn But things do not stabilize overnight. Check into the Actos thing and be patient for the stabilizing vision if that is not the answer.
Avatar f tn Ask for Actos, I took it for my tyoe II. There are other medications too, talk to your doctor.
1580703 tn?1651904887 is Resveratrol a possible risky treatment for fatty liver+hemangioma? it is really serious if I have just 1-2 standard drinks I lose my hearing I'm handicapped and speech sounds like a blur and I am nauseous and vomit. I had 2 strokes already and am handicapped from that I can't get the toxins out of my body because of the liver disease.
2053416 tn?1330411192 They are GLP-1 drugs. There is a new one called Bydureon that is a once a week shot. I am going to ask my doctor about it on my next visit.
Avatar n tn I'm a type 1 diabetic - I've been diabetic for 15 years. Lately my control has been poorer than desired and I also am feeling a little 'off' when I hit about 120 or below. Now 120 is 'normal' and so I shouldn't feel this way. My doctor told me this is because my body's so used to a higher level that 120 seems like a low level to my body. He said the only way to get past this is to get my normal levels closer to 120.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes a year prior to HCV. I've used metformin, glipizide and actos (pioglitizone) for eight years now for DM2 management; including during both HCV treatments. I was eventually successful with interferon therapy, for what it's worth. I can't comment on the victoza; I have no personal experience with it. Reducing insulin resistance might be critical to succesful inteferon-based therapy as well.
Avatar f tn I get better laying down and when I get up in the morning the throat feeling is completely gone for an hour or so. He said maybe my throat is dry. I do drink a lot of water. I am confused what is going on. I have read where sometimes the GERD isnt really too much acid but in fact too less acid and someone recommended trying 1 TBSP of apple cider vinegar in 8 ounces water 3-4 times a day. What could be the cause of the bloated feeling and something in my throat?
Avatar f tn this is known as off labeling...where a drug is intended for one purpose but used for another....in this case insomnia......
Avatar m tn The flip side of the coin is when the medication is balancing your glucose and which one is doing the morning balancing act. When I change dose, time, or add a medication and/or supplement I contact my pharmacist. She knows more about medication and supplement interactions than my doc. He treats, writes the RX, she dispenses and explains it use.
Avatar m tn check for liver researchers and statins, the studies were from 2009 conferences and bader is the one studying sim for hbv and hcv.it is know sim has also an effect on immune system and is used on hcv with interferon and vitamin d to increase svr the drugs not used yet are antidiabetes but researchers in florence, close to my hospital, said that they are very useful for HCC prevention or cure.
Avatar m tn Anyway, my blood glucose used to be around the 140 mark then I started taking Actos 30 mg mg., I now take ONLY take 15 mg and my fasting blood sugar is around 110 to 115. I also barely eat in the morning - a cup of yogart and a banana for breakfast, a small turkey sandwhich for lunch. Afternoon I feel I'm having a hypglycemic attack so I have some cookies and coffee or tea (I need the caffeine- I'm dying from fatigue!
Avatar n tn I currently take glimepiride 4mg twice daily and actos 15mg once daily. What is the sucess of these two meds. I continue to have high blood sugar levels.
Avatar n tn I have also found that Lipitor is used for individuals with high cholesterol. (I am not analysing you or your doc, I just wanted to know more about these meds.) After finding out about the low progesterone, what was the Doctor's plan of treatment? I am almost positive that I have heard of women being given progesterone at a certain time during their pregnancy to help raise the level to what it should be. I have a link that has an article including a Doctor's input.
Avatar f tn Are there any diabetics taking treatment? One of side effects is elevated blood sugar . Can someone help!
Avatar f tn It does not help you conceive its supposed to help regulate your hormone levels and balance things out so that your body will do what its supposed to do, what it does is hleps prevent M/C from happening. Anyway hopes this helps! Good luck to you on your journey! SSBD to you!
