ve found some info that implies a link between Pancreatitis and Pleurisy, but am wondering how they are related? He does take prevacid and ursodiol for GERD, and is on TOBI, Cipro (for pseudamonas) and the usual Pulmozyme, enzymes, etc, etc, etc. How are these related? How can we prevent pleurisy? Will it reappear later as we fight CF? Will having had it affect his long term prognosis?

for someone with asthma problems for forty more years now, the doctor then diagnosed her with bronchoectasis.. how does asthma relate to bronchoectasis? and from what i asked the patient, she is not on any of the antibiotics common for bronchoectasis..

Hi, I'm new to this community...I have been asthmatic since I was 6 and when I was younger it was VERY bad, and like the drs thought, I seemed to outgrow it a bit as I got older. HOWEVER when the seasons change, I tend to get hit pretty hard. I am allergic to singular and I have been taking albuterol as my medication. I used to take Beclovent and the albuterol about 10 years ago but then went to albuterol only and it has seemed to do the trick until now.

It is pretty effective I believe. What nebs does your doc have you on? I am on pulmozyme (breaks down the DNA of the mucous, thinning it), hypertonic saline...also breaks it down, TOBI for my pseudomonas (if you culture pseudo, this might be a good drug for you, it is a nebulized form of tobramycin, I rotate 28 days on and 28 days off..it does a fairly good job at keeping my pseudo at bay) as well as pulmicort and Xopenex. Lots of nebs....

For my pseudomonas (did the docs ever culture your sputum? If not, have them do that so that you know what is growing in there. If it is pseudo, then there are meds that can be given to help decrease the colonies), I nebulize tobramycin on a 28 day on/28 day off schedule. I would talk to the docs to see if any of these meds are an option for you. I hope this helps..

They did follow up tests to see if I had an immune deficiency, and it turns out that I do. Do you have a history of bronchitis or sinus infections? Have you been tested for immune problems?

what does synthriod do? other than regulate your energy. what other functions does it help control in the body. or feelings, in the body. want to know, starting on it soon after total tyroid removal. 6 days after now. thanks for all info.

Check out if he is upset by anything in his life has anything new happened , a move a new Baby ,a loss of any Family member,very often there have been happenings that have triggered the behavior, what do his Teachers say, does he get on with them , does he like school.No point in punishing him unless you know what has caused it .

I know of a few people who have had lobectemies done to remove severely damaged portions of the lungs to help decrease the amount of infections. If left in place, the affected lobe reinfects other parts of the lungs. Do you do any airway clearance to help with mucous drainage? I am the mother of two and the step-mother to one. My step-child is 10 years old, and has been pooping on himself off and on since he was 5 years old. I am at my wits end, I don't know what else to do...He will go months without doing it, and than out of no where start again. We take away his electronics, toys, etc...anything that will punish him. You, by yourself can not do anything without him wanting to do it. You can haul his behind to an NA meeting, you can get him into rehab, you can even get him to my clinic and I will get him physically clean, but without his commitment and his desire to stay clean, all of it is useless. Suboxone is just another opiate, it does work for some, but again, a person needs to want to quit. Your brother does not.
