My doc prescribed Wellbutrin XL since the Lexapro made my depression even worse, excessive sleeping, etc. My question is - can I still take 1 mg of Klonopin to help with anxiety, prevent panic attacks?
I've taken Wellbutrin before for a bad depression and know that it makes a person more energetic but also jittery at times.
Any advice? Could I combine Lexapro 10 mg with the Wellbutrin XL 150 mg?

I switched from Paxil 75mg, with no weight gain or appetite to Wellbutrin 300 XL with uncontrolled appetite and the inability to feel satiety after eating which has led to mild weight gain. Wellbutrin has been a nightmare for me this last year but I'm not willing to go back on Paxil and possibly subject myself to the torture of withdrawing from it again.
I'm lacking options at this point on what to do.
The Wellbutrin has worsened my sleep disorder.
Can you please tell me if Wellbutrin XL will help with anxiety issues. Or can the medication Cymbalta be of better use?
Sounds like it's mostly the withdrawal from the Paxil. Going on and coming off Paxil are always really horrible. Symptoms will subside once your Seretonin starts firing normally again.
You may want to start taking 5HTP to help with the withdrawal. You can buy this product at any drugstore or even walmart. It really does work to increase seretonin.
I was on Paxil for almost fifteen years but switched to Wellbutrin SR 150 mg 1x daily two weeks ago. I have experienced every side effect in the book so far--nausea, dizziness, and severe muscle pain. I have not noticed any benefits yet to this medication. My mood is flat other than wanting to burst into tears, and I am ANGRY. When will (and do?) the side effects fade? When does the Wellbutrin start to boost mood? I have had a return of sexual function, for which I am grateful.
my doctor has me on paxil 40 mg and wellbutrin xl 300 mg ..... is this combination beneficial to me cuz every since i've combined the two i been feeling more depressed than ever and i cant sleep at night so she has me on restoril for that ..... am i heading in the right direction? or am i making things worse?
I just started taking 150 wellbutrin SR , I was taking paxil . . . I had been taking an ssri for about 8 years now and I was always SO tired, never no energy, and the sexual side effects were something I decided I no longer wanted to deal with, not to mention no energy and I felt emotionally numb. Long story short right after the switch i noticed a HUGE change for the good of course. It was like someone had flipped a switch on and I began to live again.
I was on Prozac many years ago and I tried those other drugs over the past year when it reared its ugly head again but I choose Wellbutrin. I was initially on 150 XL like you but I needed a boost when my OCD kicked into overdrive so I went to 300 XL. It did make me more jittery at first but after about 4-6 weeks, it went away and I feel GREAT! I needed a little klonopin during the day in the beginning to combat the jitteryness but once I hit the sweet spot, I was on my way.

I gained 40 pounds while taking Zoloft and yet I can't cope without some sort of medication nor can I cope with this weight gain. I have always prided myself in looking nice. I have just switched to Wellbutrin XL because I heard it doesn't cause that weight gain that Zoloft does...
Obviously the Paxil and Wellbutrin aren't working, but Paxil is a hard one to stop. But there you have it -- if you feel this way while taking these meds they just aren't working.
I've been on Wellbutrin XL 150 mg once a day for a week now and while it helps tremendously with my depression and energy levels, it makes me more anxious and every so often I get a panic attack. I take 1mg Klonopin a day divided in quarters, should I take more? Doc wanted to put me on SSRI's but had a bad reaction to them so no....they're out.

For several years now I've been taking Remeron, Paroxitine, Wellbutrin XL and Lithium; everything is at the top dosage. Only the Wellbutrin and Lithium I take during the day. These drops have been going on for quite some time, but now are the very worst they have been.
Last year I had to quit a part time job because of this and got on the sub list. Mornings are my best times til 9:30am, I push myself thru chores and if I do go to work I pray that is only for 3.5hrs.
I am trying to come off my meds (wellbutrin xl 150 and effexor xr 75) as I would like to become pregnant this year. All my Dr.s say I need to come off the meds. My DR. has me taking my wellbutrin 150 mg once every 3 days and had me take 1 37.5 mg of the effexor for 5 days and no more effexor just wellbutrin. I am feeling tired, nausea and headaches I asume due to no effexor. Should I have been prescribed the effexor diffrently?
My dr, said she looked it up in her book, and Wellbutrin XL 150mg, is only prescribed for SAD and to quit smoking. She did not want to prescribe the XL at all no mater what I said. She prescribed me Regular Wellbutrin 100mg twice per day. I do not want the regular wellbutrin as it will make me shakey, and I will not follow through with taking 2 pills per day...
I just spoke to my doctor about starting Zoloft and I'm so freaked out that I think I'm going to lose my mind! First off I went through the horror of the Paxil withdrawals and I hear that Zoloft is also very hard to get off of. I seem to have issues with anxiety and depression and my doctor seems to think that this will help with both of the issues as Paxil seemed to. Here's the catch though, when I was taking Paxil it totally killed my sex drive and made me very tired.
I have been on Wellbutrin 150mg since October and still had some depression but when I went on a higher dosage became more irritable and anxiety increased, i didn't like the way it made me feel. I also want to tell you I am drug sensitive. P doc put me back on 150mg XL and I still have anxiety issues (and depression). Buspar seemed to give me opposite effect,made me manic, she put me on antihistamines just made me excitable or sleepy. She put me on Neurotin 300 mg.
Thank you for your educated response. Yes, the Wellbutrin I'm on is XL 150 mg once a day. The Lexapro is 5-10 mg depends on how much I can tolerate. What does QD mean?

If you have trouble sleeping, remember to take WELLBUTRIN XL in the morning. Do not change your dose or stop taking WELLBUTRIN XL without talking to your doctor.
I was very recently prescribed Wellbutrin XL, after trying several medications that have not helped [including Wellbutrin SR]. When I saw my doctor, she simply said 'I'm putting you on Wellbutrin twice daily' and I assumed it would be the SR. But what I was given was XL, with the instructions to take it twice a day [morning and around noon]. My doctor's office is closed today, or I would have asked her. I did ask the pharmacist, and he said that yes, this is okay.
