Avatar f tn Hi... I also was on Warfarin, but only for a month after undergoing an ablation. The procedure was on Jan.29 and i was put on warfarin for 30 days. I had a normal period in february but then in march it started and never really stopped. I've basically had my period for six months straight. could this possibly be from the warfarin to be going on for this long? Is there anything that could be done about this?
Avatar f tn The other morning my urine looked a little bloody. No other symptoms. My doctor wasn't available so I was seen by an FNP. She diagnosed a mild UTI and prescribed Cipro 250 mg 2x a day for five days. After taking the third tablet all hell broke loose: my vision got so blurred I couldn't see, I couldn't urinate for fifteen hours, and I had diarrhea for nine hours straight. I stopped taking the medicine(missed one dose so far).

Avatar m tn Some doctors will prescribe an 81 mg coated tablet of aspirin as an alternative to Warfarin if your risk factors are not that great. My suggestion is to get as many opinions as you can and don't let anyone tell you different. I have had several Cardiologists and EP Dr's who have all had their own unique ways of treating me and each time I have seen improvement with the additional insight. Good luck and God bless!
Avatar n tn ALSO, my doctor prescribed 50 mg to be cut in half for my prescribed 25 mg dose. Does cutting this tablet in half compromise the time release?
Avatar f tn 4 months ago she switched to pradax in place of warfarin. The family doctor prescribed 110 mg tablet per day..over the past few months she has made excellent progress. several weeks ago her alzeheimer specialist doubled her dosage..and my mother is slowly getting worse. I have 2 questions: 1) has anyone else experienced over dosage of blood thinners ( warfarin or bradax) with brain lining thinning and the onset of dementia symptoms?
612551 tn?1450022175 I had a surgical procedure last Thursday that required I stop all anticoagulant (warfarin) and aspirin (low dose) 5 days before the procedure. I recall my cardiologist being uncomfortable with the length of time I would be without clot prevention medications. I have permanent atrial fibrillation, so my heart is in the clot production mode 24/7. I have been back on warfarin and aspirin for two days and believe my INR is back in the 2-3 range.
Avatar n tn ve tried to read as much as I can about warfarin along the way. I even went to a day-long CEU workshop for medical professionals on warfarin management and got the certificate. But I'm still not an expert. To my way of thinking, the experts are the hematologists, pharmacists, and other health professionals who manage large numbers of people's warfarin on a daily basis.
1545481 tn?1325160086 I was placed on blood thinners - Warfarin, After 2 weeks i felt symptoms as if fluttering was returning. I was kept in A & E overnight. In the morning i was advised i would have to increase my warfarin as my INR was 1.3 not enough for cardio version in 6 weeeks. I was also to start on an heart tablet. When i questioned this i was referred to cardiology.
351404 tn?1299489130 it lasted for a couple of days, spontaneously reverted (as it always does so far) and I was placed on Warfarin. Two AF free months later, I was taken off Warfarin and put on low dose daily aspirin. Now bradycardia has also been diagnosed and a future pacemaker is on the cards if my condition worsens. I write to ask what is the alarm level at which I ought to seek further intervention.

Avatar m tn I have been treated for A Fib and currently take a quarter of a 200MG tablet of amiodarone HCL.
612551 tn?1450022175 Jerry, I have a similar problem when sleeping, and sometimes use the spray, or try a 12 hour Sudafed tablet to keep my sinuses open. I wonder if an OTC allergy tablet, something like Zyrtec might help? Also, have you tried Flonase or another type of corticosteroid spray? Some people find it helps (not me.) Occasional blood in the handkerchief is not unusual -- these medications do constrict blood vessels and can cause slight bleeding.
Avatar f tn Given that yesterday he said to not take the warfarin he was changing me from the genertic warfarin and putting me on the brand name of the med coumadin. Said some folks do not tolerate warfarin well but do well on coumadin and i am to start the coumadin today. I would be lying if i didn't say i am a bit gunshy at this point. This med has made me absolutely miserable and today is my 43rd bday...
4822967 tn?1367656696 stop warfarin 5 days pre-op; restart warfarin post-op as soon as oral fluids are tolerated. High thromboembolic risk: stop warfarin 4 days pre-op and start low molecular weight heparin (LMWH) at therapeutic dose; stop the LMWH 12-18 pre-op; restart LMWH 6 hours post-op (assuming haemostasis achieved); restart warfarin when oral fluids are tolerated; stop LMWH when INR = 2.0.
1649704 tn?1402778437 Have you ever wondered about colors? There are the natural colors of the visible light spectrum (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, & violet). Then there are seemingly endless variations when these colors are combined. Colors make the world beautiful. Colors also represent moods & attitudes. Green is the 'easiest' color to our eyes. But one might say, "they were green with envy". I've never really seen a green person. Blue colors the open sky and bodies of water.
Avatar m tn it left me with a blurred vision now and i had a retinal hemorrhage too.doctors put me on warfarin tablet,a blood thinner. my advice.go and see your doctor before something will happen.
Avatar n tn This is exactly what I read in The Coumadin (Warfarin) Help Book. Since my husband has been taking his Warfarin before his evening meal & his INR has been keeping fairly level. And that's good news, we want no more Strokes.
Avatar f tn DOES ANYONE KNOW IF WARFARIN CAN LOWER YOUR BLOOD COUNT AND AND ALSO LOWER CALCIUM AND VITAMIN D LEVELS?
942410 tn?1274047074 Clearly your question is one for your doctor to answer. In my experience with Warfarin, and I get along well with it, aspirin is much easier to deal with if it is sufficient. I don't know the relationship between having a pacemaker and needing Warfarin. Warfarin is a blood anticoagulant (thinner) as I'm sure you know. It is taken to reduce clot formation caused by something line Atrial Fibrillation or mechanical heart valves.
