1367899 tn?1278121440 My sister and I started a blog on Adderall to learn more about the medication along with alternative and complementary ADHD treatment options. Any feedback from users of Adderall or Adderall XR would be greatly appreciated. Topics to be added this week on http://Adderall.org How is Adderall XR different from Adderall? [Adderall vs. Adderall XR] What is Adderall? How to Make Adderall: [Adderall Background Information] What are the best Adderall and ADHD books?
Avatar m tn Wondering what nutrition choices, sleep patterns and work loads people adopt to better manage there experences with or without the medication. Also looking for information on dealing with anxiety as a result of school stress and side effects from medication.
Avatar n tn I am surprised that he gave you vyvanse. My dr. gave me Wellbutrin and it produced none of the side effects you mention except decreased cravings for caffeine and sweets. Our pharmacist said vyvanse is a lot like adderall; he said everyone seems to be using it who would have previously been on adderall. It is very trendy right now. But I do not think it would help with anxiety at all, and I would guess anxiety might be causing your heart rate to be rapid.
Avatar f tn you need to discuss this with your parents and the doctor who is prescribing the Vyvanse for you. The doc will probably want you to have an EKG (a very simple test) to make sure your heart is ok. You might also do well on an ADD med that's not a stimulant - talk to your doctor about it. It's great that you've had success with the medication, but some ADD meds can cause heart issues and you can't ignore the symptoms you're having.
Avatar m tn Regardless of why the ******* may try to refute with, real ADHD sufferers who take stimulants have proven to have no real long term side effects. There is some debate to the effects of growth it causes to children, but obviously not grown adults. Usually it doesn't lead to addiction in people who really need it.
Avatar f tn I highly prefer Vyvanse over adderall because I do not suffer from side effects w/Vyvanse as with the adderall. The Vyvanse is much smoother than most all other adhd drugs. I have never experienced shortness of breath while taking Vyvanse, however, I am 25 years old and 180lbs. I am also a Registered Nurse. I would imagine that these annoying side effects will eventually subside with continued therapy w/Vyvanse. Give it 2-3 weeks becaue his tolerance needs to build up first.
Avatar f tn He said that the other two meds were to bring me down from the Vyvanse while also having the side effects of suppressing my hunger and one of them is supposed to make sugar (esp. sugary drinks) taste funky. I do not wake up in the middle of the night to eat and I am not addicted to sodas or anything. I am just trying to figure out the risk/benefit of this cocktail. The Vyvanse is already worth it b/c I can focus and it is WAY better than Ritalin plus it suppresses my appetite during the day.
Avatar f tn ADHD medicine can be a game changer in terms of managing symptoms, but it, like all medications, has negative effects. Common side effects include decreased appetite, difficulty sleeping, and irritability, particularly at high doses. Some children may also have stomach problems or headaches. It's critical to have open lines of contact with your doctor so that they can change the dosage or try another drug if necessary.
Avatar f tn I believe that the listed side effects for withdrawing relate to those people who have abused the medication/prescription. In short they are doing "speed". They are on it way to long each day and have become dependent on it. In that case, yes, they must slowly withdraw...and it is a long, slow often painful process. For people who have stayed on their recommended prescription, there should not be withdrawal symptoms.
Avatar m tn Ok, I have vyvanse 70 mg tablets. Currently I have been on them for 3 days alotogether. I take the pill when i want to, I've takin 3 pills in one week. My first quesiton (1. Is it safe to take vyvanse when needed? If not what are the harms of it and is it very severe or no?. (2. MY BIG CONCERN. Its a love hate situation for me so far, i love what it does, the concentrating, the happy mood, love it! But I'm having awful side effects. The first day i had none.
Avatar m tn ve seen on the Internet were only using up to like 80mg and they experienced the side effects in a lil bit stronger sense. My side effects seem to have been only a minor version of itself and not the whole side effect... And if I may add. I'm not addicted or ever think about being addicted to the vyvanse or any drug I've ever used. No matter how addictive the drug might be, I can take a normal dose or a high one, as I have mentioned. And I had minor side effects with no addictions...
1218509 tn?1267490923 It was very smooth, it lasted around the 12-14 hours my Psychiatrist said it would, and I did not give me any side effects. I would highly recommend Vyvanse to anyone who needs a ADHD/ADD medication. I can only wish you the best experience with this medication once it is available by you.
Avatar f tn My son has been on vyvanse for 4 months now, he is having horrible side effects, to the point where you can't reason with him. We need to get him off this terrible drug before it kills him. You can't just stop taking it because, so how do we get him off this drug?
1549092 tn?1297046311 This is a pretty good site for information for adults on meds. I think you will find the information useful as it compares Vyvanse vs Adderall XR. Do make sure you also click on their ADHD link at the top of the page once you have finished reading. The site is - http://healthlifeandstuff.com/2009/07/vyvanse-vs-adderall-simple-vs-complex. You also might want to check out another very good site for adult ADD.
Avatar n tn s now 2019 March 15th, I was wondering why I was going through five or six different side effects when switching my stimulants completely over to Vyvanse and I already was well invested into a Methadone Maintenance program. But I was on adderal 30mg 2 x daily, started methadone and then adderall 20mg 1 x day and 40mg vyvanse 1x a day when this all started slowly but I knew something wasnt right.
1165577 tn?1263001618 I have been on Vyvanse and i never gain weight also Dexetrine with is in the same family and also my brother has been on adderal no weight gain. So i wouldnt worry about weight. we all took it for adhd.
Avatar m tn ve never heard of Vyvanse. It sounds to me like you may be experiencing side effects of Prozac. It might be an idea to go to your family doctor and tell her or him about the symptoms you're experiencing. Good luck.
Avatar f tn Certain medications can cause side effects in many of us that take it. Vyvanse is a stimulant, which in my experience actually helped me focus in the long term (I took another type in the same class) Initially, I was nervous about taking it because I thought it would make my anxiety worse, but these types of medications can "calm the mind" with those with ADD or ADHD in my experience with them. Have you talked to your doctor about it?
1666464 tn?1303225358 and for some reason it seems to neutralize the Vyvanse. The side-effects go away but so does the psychological stimulating feelings of Vyvanse. It's as if it snuffs it out almost completely. I don't know if it's a drug interaction that nobody knows about or if it thins my blood out so that I don't notice any of the effects of Vyvanse, I don't know. Either way it's the only thing that seems to do 'anything' which is really weird.
Avatar f tn In addition, buPROPion can increase the blood levels of amphetamine, which may increase other side effects." from - http://www.drugs.com/drug-interactions/adderall-with-contrave-190-1645-3559-16891.html So I think that you would want to be aware of any over medicated types of reactions. Another thought is that weight gain among adults with adhd is common due to (they think) lack of impulse control. If the Vyvanse can control this the Contrave might not be needed?
Avatar f tn I agree with Sandman2 that you are taking too much. The first medication the doctor tried on me was vyvanse. I started on 30 mg which didn't last long enough. I was in college when I was taking it and took it at 9am and it was gone by 3-4pm. She increased my dose to 50 mg which was too much for me.
Avatar m tn I checked for side effects for Vyvanse but aside from stomach pain, and diarrhea no other relatable side effects were shown. I was curious if anyone taking this medication or similar type of medication has experience this or been able to manage this issue.
