Vivelle dot use

Common Questions and Answers about Vivelle dot use

Avatar f tn I had a hysterectomy in October 2009, I was put on the vivelle-dot patch. I'm on the lowest dose (0.05mg). I change the patch twice a week. I had my yearly mamogram (which has always been normal). I picked up the report today and it says: Findings: Dense and hetergenous breast parenchyma is again observed with minor asymmetry.
Avatar f tn So now I am just wondering if I am having a reaction to the vivelle dot. I have posted before on the hysterectomy surgery and won't go into that again. Just wanted to know if anyone else has had this problem...Don't know what else to do. Thanks...
Avatar f tn I have been on vivelle dot for about month so far after dealing with menopause symtoms for the past couple of years. I love the stuff so far, feeling more and more every day like my old self and even starting to lose weight. The only thing is I am reading that if I still have my uterus (which I do) that I should also be on a progestrogen also because of endometrial cancer. It has me concerned and I go in for a follow up appointment in a week, is this something I need to bring up to my doctor?
Avatar n tn can i use vivelle dot patch while on the hcg diet? My strength is 1.
Avatar n tn I use the vivelle dot. I also tend to get very painful breasts so it depends on the dose. The dot is a bio-identical patch.
Avatar n tn Can this patch Vivelle-Dot 0.1 MG Patch cause Ovarian Cancer?
Avatar f tn Could this be caused by the patch losing effectiveness before the week is up? Would switching to Vivelle Dot, which has a twice a week schedule, help prevent the bleeding?
1476337 tn?1311810543 Hey I'm in the prime of my IVF Cycle, I've started the vivelle dot patch as of 11/2 and ganirilex as of 11/3 if my cycle starts as scheduled on the 6th I will start my stim shots on 11/8 and hopefully have reterviel on 11/19 and transfer on 11/22. I could really really use a support system as I go thru this the HB just dont understand my moods and stress!
Avatar f tn I use the HRT patch (Vivelle dot).075; I was put on it immediately the day after surgery. I have not had any issues, except the night sweats, but once she adjusted my dose I have been fine.
901431 tn?1242069634 thanks for your imput, I was on estrace but caused a rash so he had me get on Vivelle dot patched, what is timed bd ? and which meds did you not use ?
Avatar f tn Started about 1 year ago with the climara patch, got very itchy, welts, etc. got it changed to vivelle dot a few months ago, still very itchy plus it wasn'tworking as well. by the way i have a uterus so I was taking prometrium(progesterone)100mg every day. After the vivelle starting making me itch i stopped it and stopped the prometrium. I noticed maybe 1-2 weeks after I started getting a small period not enough to use a big pad just enough for 1 minipad kinda like the tail end of my period.
7649183 tn?1393017836 I started recently using the patch since I thought it would be better for my liver and a more natural way to get the estrogen. I'm doing this to protect again osteoporosis. I take Vivelle-Dot lowest dose--.025. I feel fine, but my breasts are sore. They never were when taking the estradiol pill--.05/day. There's a patch available that states it has the lowest dose necessary to protect against osteoporosis (Menostar).
Avatar n tn The short answer is (in my opinion) that you need to add Bioidentical Progesterone to the Vivelle (I am on that, too, as you will see in my profile)...and I also use a little bit of testosterone...marvelous...great for clarity of mind, clumsiness, believe it or not, chemical I go repeating all that you will find in my profile and in my posts (have to sift through but you will get tons of info). Hope you don't think I am leaving you hanging....
2174421 tn?1391870564 I'm 49 in peri. Have been using 0.0375 Vivelle Dot patch continuously and using Prometrium 200mg for 10 days every 6 weeks (to minimize progesterone effects but protect uterus). (been on this regimen for 2 months). My prior blood testing in late May showed FSH 89, Estrogen <10 and progesterone nearly non-existent). After this most recent 10-day round of Promethium, I have only had some brownish/pink spotting but barely enough to even use a mini pad.
Avatar f tn I had a complete hysterectomy 5 1/2 years ago at the age of 35 for a borderline serous tumor in one of my ovaries. I have been on the vivelle dot .1mg patch for several years with no problems. Lately, I have been having symptoms of low estrogen like hot flashes. Unfortunately, my gyn oncologist has retired so I have been seeing my regular ob for my yearly follow up.
Avatar f tn Oh great one of the side effects of vivelle dot patch is back ache,,that explains my lower back pain,,,it did happen after going on vivelle, but i am thinking clearer maybe it willl go away
Avatar n tn To help me avoid radical menopause sypmtoms, my doctor immediately started me on a .5 mg. Vivelle-dot estrogen patch after surgery, and I felt fine. Two weeks later, he added a 100 mg. daily dose of prometrium to my HRT therapy to avoid recurrence of endometriosis growth. My problem is that I am having unpleasant side effects from the prometrium, including exhaustion, minor headache, and lightheadedness. I don't like how it makes me feel.
Avatar f tn Oh just an FYI. The vivelle, vivelle dot and Climara are all bioidentical hormones like Kate was talking about. They are supposed to be very similar to our own hormones, but they are still not our own :( Take it from me though, they are great.
Avatar f tn Started having sever hot-flashes so my doctor put me on the Vivelle Dot. It took care of the hot-flashes but caused me to gain 10 pounds in a 6 week period. My doc said the weight gain was from menopause. Well, I took the patch off 2 weeks ago and threw it away, and I have now lost 6 of those pounds and feel much better. I think it was causing depressiont too. I have been on bio-identical hormones for a few years - progesterone cream and DHA cream - and have done fine.
178345 tn?1242539846 Girls - I know I should maybe post this elsewhere but since you guys are my friends and know so much I was just wondering if anyone here that is on the vivelle-dot patch have any side effects from it..for 2 days I have this drawing pain in my upper is more of a nuisance than a real terrible pain...I always worry about blood clots..I took my patch off just in case for a few hours but had to put it on due to the hot flashes ...I am hoping this is nothing but I am worried..
1129774 tn?1279835362 I am currently on .1 vivelle dot patch and I am doing okay. I have no hot flashes, but I still have extreme dry eyes, vaginal dryness, and muscle aches in my upper back. It seems the symptoms get worse one day before I am supposed to change the patch. I have read that some women can burn through the estrogen quicker. My dr. gave me samples of the Divigel to try instead. I really want to stay on the patch bc of the ease of use.
Avatar f tn which was the decision i made Im 46 I now use estrogen replacement a vivelle dot patch very easy and hot flashes no crazy normal sex drive....if you was in you 20s it may be different ..I strongly advise you to remove them ..and never ever have to worry about ovarian cancer.
Avatar f tn I just had a complete vaginal hysterectomy 5 wks ago. Currently I'm using the vivelle dot which is the patch. I have been experiencing pain on the left side of my chest. I don't think it's associated with my heart. It also bothers my left arm and shoulder. Could it be from the patch? Another question. For the past week, I've only had green stools. They are sort of gritty looking in texture. Some are hard and some are just normal. No loose bowels though.
1320096 tn?1274379529 if not phone him and ask for some, be sure to take exactly as prescribed, You probably will be given narcotics like vicodin,,,,these make you constipated so ask dr about a stool softner, do not use heat on the belly for pain ( like a hot pad) it makes you bleed more and swell. sometimes a simple ice pack will help a lot w pain...
1663554 tn?1302902576 It often takes some trial and error to get the right hrt or combo hrt for ones body, I was lucky just needed estrogen used a patch ( these are nice, easy to use and you know your getting correct dose) I used Vivelle dot , its rather popular many find it is all they need. Remember one very important thing. any medication you start you can also stop, Its a good idea to see a new branch of specialts called Nurse practioners that practice in a gynos office and advice on hrt as their specialty.
Avatar f tn I'm a 53 year old female who had a hysterectomy at 44. I was put on the Vivelle Dot Patch and immediately began to gain weight. I had never had a weight problem before. My ankles began to swell and I could not sleep; doctor did nothing so I found another doctor who prescribed a pill progesterone and swelling left and I enjoyed sleep once again. However, I continued to gain weight over these past 9 years.
