Avatar m tn I just had very frequent urination but no urgency or pain ... I was on vesicare for a good 4 weeks before I saw 100% improvement ...but after a week or so I def. noticed an improvement ... if it's been 4 weeks maybe call you dr., I know they can increase the dose up to 10mg. I went off vesicare about 6 months ago and was pretty much symptom free until last week ...
Avatar m tn Started me on Levaquin 500mg PO QD x 7 days and Vesicare 10mg PO QD.The cyst went down but the pain around the epdidymis persisted w/ no change. After 4 weeks of Vesicare I still have no change in my nocturia. I had an ultrasound of my bladder, testicles, kidneys all normal. I then had a cystoscopy done which showed no abnormalities besides a tight sphincter. My urologist told me to continue the Vesicare which I have been doing.

Avatar m tn (about three years ago) I was ok for awhile and, now the severe pain has returned....which meant I had to return to my urologist....He gave me elmiron and vesicare to treat the IC....the Elmiron never helped my pain and, the Vesicare took my blood pressure from 113/72 pulse 68 to 153/103 pulse 122...I contacted my urologist and, he stated...that's not true ... neither of these meds would cause your blood pressure to go up...well, I called him back four days later...
Avatar n tn Ok here goes: I'm 28/female, pretty healthy ... on 10/6, about 1 week before I was to leave for Vegas I was extremely nervous about flying. Out of the blue I started having frequent urination problems. No urgency (meaning I could hold it if I had too) but just frequent trips to the bathroom. No real pain or anything. I have an underlying anxiety disorder that is not controlled and I did start to panic about these symptoms which in turn probably made them worse.
Avatar f tn s not a pain killer and Gabapentin did nothing for this kinda pain but always helps with my other symptoms.. Just seeing if there is another solution for my problem that won't make me constipated!
Avatar m tn The urine culture always came out negative but even then I have taken oflaxcin for 6 weeks and then Bectrin DS for 4 weeks. Antibiotics help for a while but then cause more problems like stomach pain and cramps. I had leukocytes in the urine but the culture was negative. I have been on flomax (0.4)mg but the urge to urinate was there all the time so my doctor added (Vesicare 5mg).
721523 tn?1331581802 I've honestly never been clear on how the drugs for overactive bladder help people with urine retention. I have noticed though that several forum members with retention take them and figure there must be a good reason why they are prescribed. Can you clarify Lulu? If it's not too personal.... do you have an additional problem with distention incontinence or urge incontinence that this type of drug helps control? Inquiring minds (or at least this one little mind) want to know.
Avatar m tn I'm using Vesicare and Lyrica and I just got my urinalysis result and they're normal. Can Vesicare and Lyrica affect urinalysis? Are they antibiotics?
Avatar n tn does anyone get headaches from taking vesicare?? They seen to go away with advil. Anyone had these symptons, did they lessen with longer use of vesicare??
Avatar f tn Patients who can not tolerated medications like Vesicare may find Myrbetriq a better choice for them. Other test such as CT scan may be appropriate depending on your exam. J.
1056851 tn?1318720978 GP has put me on Vesicare 5mg. It is to help my incontinence. Anyone else taking this? How is it?
Avatar n tn About four months, I had symptoms that were consistent with a UTI (burning during urination, frequent urination, lower back pain). I went to my PCP and although the urinanalysis showed nothing, my PCP put me on Cipro. After a week of that, I still had symptoms, so I went back. I had a pelvic exam and did another urinanalysis (again negative). My PCP gave me an antispasmodic and a numbing pill for the burning sensation (I don't remember the name of it, but it turned my urine orange).

Avatar n tn I am a 23 year old female who has the constant urge to urinate on and off for two months now. Various doctors have checked for a UTI and there is none. I have been on macrobid, vesicare and now I'm on flavoxate. Each of these medicines have worked for about a week and then I get the constant urge to urinate again. I just started the flavoxate and I have not gotten any relief. I'm not in any pain, but the constant urge to urinate seems painful and is affected my daily life greatly.
Avatar n tn Hi, The bladder spasms can make the bladder wall contract even before the bladder is completely full making the patient visit the toilet frequently. The muscle relaxants like vesicare are used for the treatment. However other methods can also be used like avoiding drinking things that act as bladder irritants such as sodas, alcohol or coffee. In some patients, electrical stimulation is applied to the nerves controlling spasms to make them relax.
Avatar m tn said I had a stenosis and atrophy of the urethra. Gave me a script for Vesicare but told me to wait a few days to see how procedure goes. also mentioned estrogen Creme. I am miserable....what should I do?

Avatar m tn I have been using VESICARE for some time now, it does decrease the number of visit to the bathroom, however when you stop using it...the problem comes back. Its like it just manages the active bladder but doesn't cure it. Been using it for more than 2 years now.
