which meant I had to return to my urologist....He gave me elmiron and vesicare to treat the IC....the Elmiron never helped my pain and, the Vesicare took my blood pressure from 113/72 pulse 68 to 153/103 pulse 122...I contacted my urologist and, he stated...that's not true ... neither of these meds would cause your blood pressure to go up...well, I called him back four days later...
So I am now back on the vesicare and the fluoxetine. I have been on them for almost 4 weeks and while my frequency has improved I still have discomfort and tightness in my genital area. Is this a concern? Also will I get back to where I was previously and I long should I stay on the meds before I switch to something else to completely get rid of my symptoms. I would greatly appreciate any help and encouagement, especially if someone else has been through a similar senario. Thanks.
I kept with the Vesicare and when we came back I was pretty depressed to be home and had maybe 2-3 days within 2 weeks I had "issuses" of frequency lasting a few hours but then they went away. As of last Mon 11/1, after 3 weeks on the Vesicare and after being home for 2 weeks Iam 100% back to normal and I can't tell if it's from the Vesicare or because the anxiety from the trip has finally faded out of my body as well as the depression from having to come back home.
Not completely but the freaquency came back, urges, alittle of the leakage, not as bad, the urge to go and cant, are back. Has anyone ever had this happen to them, and what could this mean? Should I go back to see my Doc? I'm so sick of being sick. I'm so over it. its not funny.

The major one was abdominal cramping. I also have long standing urological problems and Vesicare was causing problems in that area as well. Headaches could have been part of it as well. The drug was tried on June 12, 2008 and even has one Rep on it.
I have most of the bottle left. I will never try it again.

It does work, but I have just gone off it due to it causing major constipation and I mean major and now my burning has come back so I guess I will have to go back on it and use both Vesicare and something for constipation to make me go.
I wish there was something else I could take, and oh yep some bladder urgency is back too and some spasms, I must admit this has made me a bit down as I thought perhaps after 5mths on the drug that the problem might have gone away.
I'm using Vesicare and Lyrica and I just got my urinalysis result and they're normal. Can Vesicare and Lyrica affect urinalysis? Are they antibiotics?
It was good for few weeks but then the urge got stronger and I was again given Bactrim DS for 4 weeks and now even with Bactrim DC I am not feeling any better. Few days back the doctor increased the dose of Floamx to 0.8 mg and stopped the Vesicare. It did not help and the urge to urinate is there all the time and there is tightness in the bladder. I also took Celebrex for few days and it helped a little bit. i am also taking EZ tea but nothing is working.
Started me on Levaquin 500mg PO QD x 7 days and Vesicare 10mg PO QD.The cyst went down but the pain around the epdidymis persisted w/ no change. After 4 weeks of Vesicare I still have no change in my nocturia. I had an ultrasound of my bladder, testicles, kidneys all normal. I then had a cystoscopy done which showed no abnormalities besides a tight sphincter. My urologist told me to continue the Vesicare which I have been doing.

t thrilled w/ the doctor in general but she said it was just anxiety and stress. I decided for a 2nd opinion at a urologist and she agreed stress was the biggest culprit but thinks I could also have an OAB. Mind you I had a clean UTI at all the doctors, a good exam at my gyn but she sent me for ultrasound which was normal, and I had blood work done for all things including diabetes. Although my glucose came in at 101 and under 99 is the norm it wasn't cause for concern.

Down side of Vesicare is an EXTREME dry mouth and I mean extreme but it does get better and now for me EXTREME constipation, I have been on it for about 5mths and I was warned by both the neuro and the uro that it can affect this part of my body, but I also think i have loss of some function there too which wouldn't help.
About four months, I had symptoms that were consistent with a UTI (burning during urination, frequent urination, lower back pain). I went to my PCP and although the urinanalysis showed nothing, my PCP put me on Cipro. After a week of that, I still had symptoms, so I went back. I had a pelvic exam and did another urinanalysis (again negative). My PCP gave me an antispasmodic and a numbing pill for the burning sensation (I don't remember the name of it, but it turned my urine orange).
Urethral feeling of needing to pee, a vague sense of bladder fullness even though not full. Sometimes I catch and notice my lady parts pulsating/twitching bladder and clit etc. I do not really have an appetite and am not able to eat a normal meal. Like 1/2 a plate most of the time. I am taking Vesicare, with a non standard dosing as I cannot tolerate it daily. It helps moderately. When the sensation is beyond able to bare I take Pyridium which is meant as a symptom killer for UTI's.
ve got up in the middle of the night to use the restroom and I cant go pee I sit there for about 5 minutes and I have to go but it will not come out, so I go back to bed and go back to sleep and will wake up maybe 1/2 an hour later to go to the restroom and I'll be lucky most of the time I can pee. Is this normal.?? I'm sorry to ask so many questions but I go to a MD doctor and I dont think she knows much about IC.

My doctor prescribed Phenazopyrid(Azo) and Amitriptylin but nothing for pain. I called her back a few days after starting on meds and said that I really need something for pain and she advised me to just go to the emergency room. I am so frustrated with Dr's care. What medications have worked to control acute pain? This was my Gynecologist that referred me to the hospital, I am thinking that I need to follow through with a urologist?
Hello I have been diagnosis with interstitial cystitis have had this since 06 and latly I have had a lot of kidney pain everyday what can I do? Also I urinat about 20 times a day and about 15 times at night yes I have tried vesicare and oxybutynin. I also have just had a bladder distention but all this was going on before the bladder distention.
I am a 23 year old female who has the constant urge to urinate on and off for two months now. Various doctors have checked for a UTI and there is none. I have been on macrobid, vesicare and now I'm on flavoxate. Each of these medicines have worked for about a week and then I get the constant urge to urinate again. I just started the flavoxate and I have not gotten any relief. I'm not in any pain, but the constant urge to urinate seems painful and is affected my daily life greatly.
Evista for osteoporosis, Tenormin, (as a beta blocker),for Migrane headache, Cinestin - an estrogen replacement (I had a complete Hysterectomy in 1991), Vesicare and Oxytrol for my neurogenic bladder and Tylenol with codine for acute pain. I recently had blood work and my WBC was slightly elevated at 11, RBC, Hemoglobin, and Hematocrit were slightly low and my lymphocytes were above 5000, (high normal is 3900).
as in it feels like there is still a little more that could come out but it does not. I went to a doctor a few months back and he prescribed Vesicare but it does not really seem to be helping me. It's very frustrating because it feels like I cannot entirely empty my bladder even though like 90-95% comes out but that last bit stays in. What could the issue be?

i had a cmg test done today and the nusre told me it was the worst case of bladder spasm that she has ever seen and brought in other medical staff to see this they have put me on vesicare tablets 10 mg and i am wondering if there is anything else can be done i am worried in case it means i need to be catherterised because of this how likely is this ?
