Avatar f tn BUT, I have to take it or I am in pain. So try not to worry so much about the long term effects when you are trying to survive today. 1665434 tn?1365238898 This medication does have some start up or transient side effects associated with it. That means that early on while taking it, a person can have short term side effects as their body gets used to the medication. They typically go away and the drug should be up and working by 6 to 8 weeks. It is disappointing that you are feeling your anxiety worsen but again this could be due to the transient nature of early side effects. You've only been on it for a week.
