varicose veins and leg cramps

I never knew the pooling of blood in this leg from the varicose veins contributed to my leg cramps, but apparently that was my culprit.

I am not sure if I have varicose veins or not. I am around 50 lbs overweight and 6 1/2 weeks pregnant. My legs are aching really bad from the knees to my ankles. I do have some small prominent blue bulging veins near the surface, but they have been there for years and never hurt. Can a person have them so deep that you can't see it? I fell last week and have some very deep and large contusions on the front of my right leg. My calves seem to be slightly swollen, but my ankles are normal.

It may be varicose veins, they are horrible!!! try elevating your leg, drinking lots of water, not standing for long times, otherwise just make sure you're hydrated and you can try stretching out your legs a few times a day, also try eating a banana and upping your potassium intake.

This knot appears where I have varicose veins. (The varicose veins are non pregnancy related) I now prop a pillow behind me to prevent this happening. I know that the growing uterus puts pressure on the main artery when you're laid on your back and this in turn stops the blood flowing back up to your heart as easily. My legs also ache nearly all night long, it's driving me mad! Anyone else have anything similar?

Surgery only cause depending on the person they can cause bad leg cramps. Nothing major... but yea legs cramps are a pain in the butt.

The thing that makes it worse in I have suffered with varicose veins in my legs which I have had treated but they seem to be coming back very quickly and I’m sure the dilation of my leg veins is accelerating this. If I am calm and feeling good I get no pain in my legs and feet but if I’m worked up I get pains in the arch of my foot and inside of my ankle below the bone, I also get a sensation in my feet of having things in my shoe mildly pressing in to my foot.

I miss wearing shorts in public and I put up with some leg cramps now and then.

i always have pain only on the right side of my prostrate and the right leg and lower right side of my back and hip. the varicose veins are on the right side of my penis to and my right leg behind my nee. i am starting to wonder if my whole problem might be some kind of stricture some were in my pelvis on the right side. and im getting very worried about these varicose veins poping up on my leg does this make any sence to anyone reading this.

Okay so the other night my leg started throbbing :( and it hurts to move my ankle and bend my leg. It hurts to stand or straighten.. I did some looking online and I'm pretty sure I have a varicose vein :( I don't know what to do.. Should I go to an urgent care or ER or hold it off tilmy appointment Monday? What can I do to relieve the pain? Have anyone had one before? Is this a varicose vein? Or you think something else..? Help!

I wouldn't completely rule out varicose veins because I have read that they can occasionally be painful. If that is the case & a doctor recommends they be treated, a lot of U.S. Medical Insurance plans cover this. I only mention this because I have spider veins (mostly in my right thigh) but they are just ugly, not painful, so the treatment to get rid of them is not covered by insurance.

I also have the same problem this is my second pregnancy and there worse. And I have them every where to where the shocking wont help. I just elevate my feet hopefully that works for u as well.

My wife has a protruding vein on 1 leg which her doctor has informed her that it is not a medical problem. She has recently noticed more veins that protrude periodically. This is causing her distress so I'm looking for some things that we can do to help prevent more protruding veins and perhaps reduce the one that's protruding already.

Been having leg cramps all day and also pelvic pain. Am totally in a pissd off mood. Anything i can try to get rid of the damn leg cramps.

Mine is in my right leg i just do a whole lot of stretching and keep em elevated when i can

I had varicose vein in my right leg. My friend suggested me to go with laser but before decide I just googled and ordered venorid. but I got that in my hand after a month latter. But result is quite good.

I got them with my 3rd pregnancy and with my fourth pregnancy they werent that bad and now they hurt and are like bulging out of my skin. I only have them on my right leg but theyre embarrasing. K this is a weird one, but my mom and sister swear by it. If you're having leg cramps while in bed get a small piece of bar soap and put it under the sheets, down by your feet. Apparently it totally makes them go away. Both me and my sis are pregnant and she gets really bad leg cramps and varicose veins, but apparently this totally makes the pain go away. I haven't had to try it yet, so I can't vouch for it myself. It can't hurt anything!

You can get clots. I thought i had one and they did a ultrasound on my leg. The symptoms of a clot however are hot to touch spot on leg, the leg would be noticeably more swollen than the other, and there would be pain in the leg. However, varicose veins can hurt too. I wouldn't worry just have your Dr. look at it. If your leg gets really swollen or starts to have pain call your Dr.
