valtrex ulcer

I've had corneal ulcers for many years, always left eye, now in the right too. Mine are caused by herpes. I'm allergic to viroptic drops, valtrex works but has aggravated a string of GI problems. Does anyone know of any other treatments or meds to try? I woke up this morning and know I have the start of another ulcer.

Well I haven't had sex since july 2013. About 3 months ago I had a ulcer on my labia went to doctor she swabs it puts me on a 7 day antiviral of valtrex, jan,3 2014 3 months since the ulcer started its still the size of a quarter, she says culture is hsv positive but the lab was unable ti type it so on the 3 of jan. She swabs it again and this time takes blood too, and since the ulcer ive had an increase of yeast.

She said that it looked like herpes because the area appeared to be an open ulcer. She put me on a 5-day treatment of Valtrex. When I got home, I noticed 2 other small scratches a little bit higher on my inner labia. I also noticed that the original scratched area looked like an elongated ulcer (about the length of the scratch) with a whelp around it. Additionally, the painful urination subsided.

I saw the symptoms on saturday evening and by Tuesday morning, the ulcer and the red dots disappeared ( i took alomst 5 valtrex pills of 1000 mg, twice daily during the time). If its because of Herpese, Do you think it would have shorten the severity or duration of the primary symptoms? or Its not herpetic symptoms at all? I am worried Terri, Please give me your expert opinion. Thanks a lot.

I have had a sore for 3 years and thought it was psoriasis. It always comes back in the exact same place. I have started Valtrex and it seems to be healing. I havent had a blood test but swab did not show. What does hsv1 look like when an outbreak begins?

A month in he got what the doctors thought could be shingles and gave him a script for Valtrex. For the past 3 months his penis has been very sensitive and he couldnt last more then a few minutes during sex. After he added the Valtrex to the mix he cant even last a few minutes at all! We never had these problem before he started taking these medications. Is this a side effect of the medications? Is it common?

2013 Went to doctor on December 18 because of a quater sized ulcer on the right labia she checked for hsv, chlamydia, and gonorreah.( hope thats spelled right.) And prescription for valtrex 1gram 7 days. Results were released and no results just note. So I call and get the results and im told I have hsv 2.

I plucked a hair from the center one thinking it was an ingrown hair and it turned into a small open ulcer. Once again, no pain, just an ulcer that refused to heal. About a week later I went into Planned Parenthood and was swabbed. Test came back positive for genital HSV-1. I was devastated to say the least, but somewhat hopeful because of the evidence that ghsv-1 seemed to be less of a hassle. Was not prescribed anything because the OB was so mild.

It returned the next day, had a small scab and was gone within the next day. Since then my upper abd was painful including my luq and ruq. No ulcer noticed. Would the Valtrex (antiviral) be ineffective because it was administered after the intense pain had begun? Also, I am 5 days in with the angry looking rash, but it has not scabbed over, nor has it blistered. Has the Valtrex prevented it from doing so, or is this yet to happen? Can I get the rash wet?

My problem started in 1991 with an ulcer half way up my penis about the size of a quarter. The ulcer was painless and healed quickly. My doctor at the time diagnosed HSV-2. After the ulcer healed, I started having a very obvious stinging and burning sensation around my groin. Occasionally I would also notice very small (micro) blisters just under the head of my penis. They are never red, barely visible and could otherwise go unnoticed.

The abrasion became raised immediately after a small circular scab formed and now an ulcer in circular shape has formed. It is painfull with white ridges and a small amount of redness. In between the scab and ulcer forming my gp saw it. He prescribed keflex 500mg TID for 2 weeks. I also had a URI. This is my 5th day on the antibiotics . I ahve NEVER had anything like this before. So I have a new girlfriend with an odd history. She developed an ulceration on her mons pubis ~2 years ago and went to the ED. I went to my dermatologist (almost 4 weeks had passed) and he suggested herpes, syphilis or chancroid. Of course he gave me Cipro, an ointment, penicillin shot and Valtrex.

If a female is the recipient of oral sex on the day discomfort begins, later an ulcer develops (PCR tests neg for HSV, CMV, etc) but serum IgG test is positive (5) for HSV2, (Neg for HSV1 & HIV neg) what are the chances the partner could develop HSV2 orally? What is the latest that symptoms could appear? (Partner has swollen nodes on day 15, no mention of oral ulcers or sore throat.

I thought it was fungi and applied anti-fungi cream, everything went well but then I saw an ulcer on my frenulum of prepuce. (I always have a CUT on it after sex). Also a small tiny red blister on the coronary sulcus. 2 days after, another 3 blisters on coronary sulcus appeared then and the ulcer was still here, also I was having swollen lymph nodes and painful urination, which make me believe that I have the genital herpes.

I was diagnosed with ghsv1 last august. I get these single red spots on the back and front of my thighs and sometimes on my back around my waist. Some of the spots have white heads some do not. It's usually just random single red spots in different places. I'm still trying to learn how this virus affects my body and this is just confusing me. I'm not sure if it's an ob or not. I am on valtrex daily. There is never an ulcer or cluster of ulcers.
