I note in the study of the 171 people who used condoms and suppressive tx that transmission was none( Valtrex) I note that Grace posted she has never given a male HSV-2 while on supressive therapy. I am starting to believe and want to believe that the risk of transmission female to male with condom and her on supressive therapy is practically non-existant!
with daily Valtrex and condom use=99% he will NOT get either of the herpes; with the Valtrex but without condom=98% he will NOT get it. (GREAT odds I must say! Welcome to the Forum. The events you describe are essentially no risk. Condom protect sex is safe sex. In my opinion you really need not be concerned about this exposure, nor do you need testing. I do not understand however why your PCP want you to take valacyclovir?
In answer to your specific questions:
1. No, valacyclovir has no effect on the time it takes for an HIV blood test to become positive. If you had a meaningful exposure (you did not) a 6 week test would be highly reliable.

My wife was diagnosed with HPV just a week or two after we started dating about 2 1/2 years ago. We got married 6 months ago, and two months into our marriage, the doctor let her know that she had dysplasia. We want to have kids sooner than later, so the gameplan is to use condoms for two years so the HPV will clear. My wife has also decided we should avoid oral sex for 2 years as well, just to be on the safe side.
Are all of these prevention techniques necessary or 100%?

I have been under a tremendous amount of stress recently and had just had a rare (for me) outbreak of cold sores for which I was taking the two dose course of Valtrex. (If I remember correctly, I had just begun the Valtrex prescription the day the condom slipped off.)
I know I need to be tested, but am just trying to make sense of this.
I had a pimple (which I removed) in the exact same spot as the genital HSV outbreak at the same time I had the cold sore.

I am worried because she had symptoms a day or two later....maybe she is lying or she didn't know she had the symptoms the day we had sex. She was under a lot of stress the prior week and I know from my recent research, that that brings out the herpes.
No you shouldn't be having sex - even with a condom on until your ob is completely over.

Three days ago I visited a legal brothel in Nevada and had oral and vaginal sex with a prostitute. It lasted about 5-10 minutes. I wore a condom, but there may have been some skin to skin contact at the base of my penis.
