valtrex

Avatar f tn Another option is to look into the GSK bridges to access program and see if he qualifies for it for free valtrex.
Avatar n tn I am a health care provider who USED to write Rx for Valtrex, but watching the unethical behavior of GSK in their drive to keep the prices up high, how they treat their sales staff and the unreasonable drug costs for the last several years I have been a devoted writer of generic Acyclovir. I am CONVINCED that GSK has everything to do with a sudden shortage of acyclovir and the pressure on generic manufacturers to stop producing....
Avatar n tn Also if you contact your GSK valtrex rep, they can give you some terrific packets for the medical providers in your clinic as well as wonderful packets to hand out to patients who are newly diagnosed too.
Avatar n tn It also just so happens that GSK sponsored the valtrex and reduction in transmission study several years ago so they get the bragging rights for reducing transmission to a partner which is how all their commercials nowadays approach it ( I have genital herpes, my partner doesn't etc ). So were you told about viral shedding 22 years ago?
Avatar m tn Valtrex is available at a discount if you visit their website and join up for the coupon list for this drug. It gives you $10 off the RX for Valtrex. They will send these coupons indefinitely as long as you are asking for them. Well worth it and the best drug out there for HSV imho. I took it and after a year stopped then no more outbreaks but once in 2 years. My outbreak were extremely severe for the first year but Valtrex nixed it good. That and good self care.

Avatar f tn please do let me know its urgent.i even enquired the gsk mumbai branch but they told me to contact gsk US Branch but still no answer.so please tell me the name of this medicine.aishwarya from Mumbai.my doctor doesnt remember the name of this medicine.
Avatar f tn Two trial using GSK drugs? Which hepatits C drugs does GSK make? I don't recall reading that they play in hcv. I guess I've missed something.
Avatar m tn You can look at it another way too... The patent on Valtrex will expire this year.. which means that Generic Valtrex will now flood the market, which means the $43 billon or so GallaxoSmithKline make from Valtrex annually will effectively disappear overnight. The past has shown that when a Patent ends, the pharmaceutical companies will always then come out with something way better so they can regain market control and get sales back...
Avatar m tn Even without insurance you can get acyclovir 400mg twice a day for less than $20/month. You can also look into the gsk bridges to access program too. I believe your medical provider needs to enroll you in it but you can get valtrex at a free or reduced price through the program depending on your income. Do you have a regular doctor you can give a call about all of this?
Avatar f tn I started this outbreak last weekend, I got diagnosed with Herpes (by my Gyn.) on tuesday and I did the 3 day Valtrex. now all those sores I have are almost gone and I find this NEW sore, up just above my pubic hair area (had no idea you could get them there either) I am confused... why isn't themedicine working? should I go get more? Herpes is new to me and I'm starting to get very overwhelmed and I am getting NO support. Does anyone know of an online support group?
Avatar n tn The studies on it done by gsk show that it only speeds healing of herpes lesions by less than 1/2 a day sooner than using a placebo. If the company that makes money off of it is saying it's not effective, that's a good reason not to use it. You get far more bang for your buck with oral antivirals when taken as soon as symptoms of an ob occur and in the proper doses.
Avatar f tn If you are on a limited income and without insurance, you can even have your provider look into enrolling you in the gsk bridges to access program to get valtrex for a reduced or free price. lysine and vitamin c do not speed the healing of ob's nor do they help reduce the number of recurrences you are having.
635402 tn?1270162477 Like Imitrex, it is made to be taken at the onset of a migraine, but is supposed to work faster and better to reduce migraine pain. GSK has spent several years and millions of dollars researching and "pre-marketing" Treximet in anticipation of FDA approval and product launch. So what's the deal? Is this really better than Imitrex alone? From a strict treatment point of view, yes, the medication probably is better than Imitrex alone for a migraine. The reason for this is twofold.
Avatar f tn or bumps and ulcerations. Today, I went to fill the Valtrex prescription my doctor wrote out for me, and my insurance didnt even pay for it. I dont have 250 bucks monthly for medication for the rest of my life. I ams till in my 20s and this sucks. I am seriously praying for a miracle. I am saddened that I have this virus. 882842 tn?1240600392 I was originally diagnosed in 2005 and once the initial outbreak was cleared up I took suppressive medication for the first couple years on the GSK patient assist program. I am no longer on a suppressive med although I just found out that Planned Parenthood will prescribe acyclovir for episodic or suppressive. Over the last 2-3 months I have had multiple outbreaks.
559053 tn?1274913374 Avandia, made by pharmaceutical company Glaxo Smith Kline (GSK), was approved by the EMA in 2000 to help lower blood sugar levels in patients with Type 2 diabetes. GSK has maintained that its extensive research involving over 50,000 patients has shown that Avandia does not increase the overall risk of heart attack, stroke or death compared to other diabetes drugs.
Avatar m tn If i stop taking it after 1 year which I have heard that is when your reoccuring outbreaks are suposed to lessen, would have my immune system still be able to produce anti bodies while on Valtrex, or is Valtrex like an antibotic where it will effect your immune systems response?
Avatar f tn It's based on the original Valtrex study. You can poke around the GSK site perhaps; I'm not sure if it's still posted there or not. It's based on 2X a week intercourse. The Herpes Handbook has transmission stats as well.
