valtrex gel

In mid november this year i had one and tried medavir topical gel. i also took valtrex, the symptoms went away quickly and then a new bigger cluster appeared close by. i took valtrex again (6 pills in 3 days) those symptoms took about two weeks to fully clear. then a week or two later i noticed another bump and took another dose and cleared in a couple days. a week later another red area started and i'm finishing my valtrex and it's going away. four OB's in a month and a half.

I recently suspected a herpes infection coming on, even though I am not diagnosed (waiting for blood tests to come back). I felt tingling on my lips and also had redness down below. My doctor prescribed me valtrex just in case and I started taking it because I was worried and she said it isn't harmful even if my tests turn out to be negative. Anyhow, I am taking 500mg twice a day for the possible gentile herpes, but can it also work for the possible oral herpes?

yes she took a swab for a yeast and bacterial infection, but she also gave me a prescription for a gel and valtrex. like i mentioned i'm very active biking, running and prone to yeast infections...and me and my boyfriend uses condoms. i asked could the redness be from scratching?

ive been looking at different topical creams but i havent gone to them yet.. i tried using Aleo Vera Gel on my lesions and in about 24 hours.. they disappear.. just curious if this is bad? I heard something about not using talc on them, any truth? if anyone has any other at home remedies for lesions or anything that can help ? oh and if anyone has taken valtrax or anything similar please share too! The doctor prescribed the topical metro gel based on the redness, swelling, and irritation thinking it was BV. The metro gel caused even more horrendous irritation, so I went back in and they did a culture - and nothing showed up at that point. However, the symptoms did not subside, so my doctor prescribed Flagyl in pill form and about a week later (and a week after my cycle ended) my symptoms cleared up.

How good does valtrex work in suppressing HSV 1 I started taking 1000 mg a day?

So now that i found out that i have hsv-1 do i need to take valtrex everyday for the rest of my life if i dont want to get my partner infected?

My doctor told me to stop taking Valtrex for a while to let my liver regenerate. While I think Valtrex is an excellent drug for treating HSV 2, I think users should take into consideration that long term use can cause some mild to moderate damage to the liver as my tests have proven. Also, anyone using Valtrex should not drink ANY alcohol while on it because it will exacerbate the problem with your liver. I'm hoping in a few weeks my liver tests go back to normal.

I have not had any outbreaks at all, I occasionally have burning and itching, but beyond that nothing else. I have been on supressive therapy w/ Valtrex since the end of may. If he's positive for HSV 2, I'll discontinue the med. If he's negative I will keep taking it. She put me on valtrex it seems like the valtrex shortened the outbreaks but i have tingling every day and i dont know why. and I still have outbreaks, so why is this?

OK. So its been nearly 2 months since I've been diagnosed with this inconvenience. Since I never had a "noticeable outbreak", every little itch or tingling that I get spooks me (The reason why I say that is because the time I had sex with my ex, I did have some tingling and 5 days later he had small blisters on his penis, so I know he contracted it from me).

Anyone have success with valtrex alleviating symptoms ?My Dr. prescribed it for 1 week. I also take desipramine (TCA) and have not had any relief from that yet either. It has been 2 weeks. How long can this crazy virus last? Does it subside or run it's course within 6 months? I thought I read this somewhere. Sorry for the multiple questions- this is just so frustrating... Hello, i had a hsv 1 genital outbreak about a month ago, i have had this for six years and only one outbreak since the first time, my question is, do i really need to stay on the valtrex for surpresive therapy, or would it be smarter to stay on it to avoid giving it to someone else
