Please tell me why these red spots could be appearing? Is it some sort of vaginal bruising or I am breaking out again? I am so nervous and scared.

I had my first OB of HSV 2 almost exactly a year ago (diagnosed by culture). I had a CRIPPLING first OB, followed by repeated OBs for a couple months, even while I was taking acyclovir. I had horrible PHN, mostly in my lower back, tailbone, and legs. The acyclovir caused severe bruising on my trunk and legs, and wasn't controlling the OBs. I switched to Valtrex 500/day about 6 months ago, and since then, have been completely OB free.
So now that i found out that i have hsv-1 do i need to take valtrex everyday for the rest of my life if i dont want to get my partner infected?
My doctor told me to stop taking Valtrex for a while to let my liver regenerate. While I think Valtrex is an excellent drug for treating HSV 2, I think users should take into consideration that long term use can cause some mild to moderate damage to the liver as my tests have proven. Also, anyone using Valtrex should not drink ANY alcohol while on it because it will exacerbate the problem with your liver. I'm hoping in a few weeks my liver tests go back to normal.
I have not had any outbreaks at all, I occasionally have burning and itching, but beyond that nothing else. I have been on supressive therapy w/ Valtrex since the end of may. I have had pain on lower right abdomen, under my ribcage it feels, and pain on my right lower back. Is this a symptom of Herpes, or can this be a reaction to the Valtrex?
I have been on valtrex for the past 4 months (1 a day) if the symptoms I am having have not gone away for a period of 2 years ( symptoms are there for a week then subside for 2 - 3 days then come back ) this has been like clockwork for the past 2 years.
What is the possibility of being immune to Valtrex? Is there a possibility that after taking Valtrex daily that in a couple years it may no longer be effective?
my partner who i met has been on Valtrex for a couple of years and the pass year we had unprotected sex. I went and got tested and my blood work came back negative. She is ok with the results and angry that she allowed me to convince her and not using condoms. I just can't explained why we did it without condoms only that I love her and we are getting marry.
How would the Valtrex slow down antibody production? Would it suppress the virus to the nerve ganglia before the body can start to develop an immunity response.
Thanks. I have started daily Valtrex to reduce the risk of transmission to him. After much discussion, he has agreed, reluctantly, to find out his status. If he's positive for HSV 2, I'll discontinue the med. If he's negative I will keep taking it. I got your book recently and will I'm sure get a lot of information (and much needed strategies for getting my head around this) from the book. Two final questions for you:

Can taking Herpes medication, such as Valtrex, create a later false positive test for the STD?
OK. So its been nearly 2 months since I've been diagnosed with this inconvenience. Since I never had a "noticeable outbreak", every little itch or tingling that I get spooks me (The reason why I say that is because the time I had sex with my ex, I did have some tingling and 5 days later he had small blisters on his penis, so I know he contracted it from me).
Anyone have success with valtrex alleviating symptoms ?My Dr. prescribed it for 1 week. I also take desipramine (TCA) and have not had any relief from that yet either. It has been 2 weeks. How long can this crazy virus last? Does it subside or run it's course within 6 months? I thought I read this somewhere. Sorry for the multiple questions- this is just so frustrating... I want relief. Any input would be helpful. Thanks!!!
Hello, i had a hsv 1 genital outbreak about a month ago, i have had this for six years and only one outbreak since the first time, my question is, do i really need to stay on the valtrex for surpresive therapy, or would it be smarter to stay on it to avoid giving it to someone else
was diagnosed with shingles on the left side of my face about 4 days ago. I have been taking valtrex for 3 days now twice a day. It seemed to be effective for the several ulcers on tip of tongue and underneath tongue. Currently going through testing to find underlying cause such as suspected auto immune disease. I have been consistent on antiviral medication and was prescribed lyrica for pain.
Possible to feel this random-bruising pain for this long w/o an outbreak? Should I insist on blood test or is my doctor right about it? I think (+) or (-) for type 2 will tell me whether I have genital herpes. But type 1, I've heard that it's 50/50. Not sure if I want to live w/ that doubt. Should I stop worrying like all the Dr.s said or do I keep going? What else could this be?

Since then the bruises on both arms were she had blood drawn has gotten worst. Bruising in spots where the blood was not taken, but still in the same area.
About a year ago I had problems with easy bruising along with gut issues after a antibiotic treatment. I always feared that I may have been infected from a affair I had with another women, almost 3 years ago. We had unprotected sex a total of 3 times.
