I am experiencing muscle pain (abdomen & back) and have a slight sore throat. Is my condition getting worst or am I experiencing something else. I'm really getting worried to the fact of going to the ER since my Dr.'s office is closed for the holidays. Please advise!!!!
I shaved again and a day later my left armpit is hurting again,no bump, so i take a valtrex and a keflex and a bactrim and the pain lessed alot and now i amost feel nothing there.
have any of you experienced anything like this? Is it cancer or hiv? I was test for hiv and i was negative and i been with the same guy for 2 years and a half he tested 1 year ago, and 4 months ago negative as well. Umm SEXUAL HISTORY: all protected vaginal and some short unprotected oral.
I had a UTI that I have not recovered from and in blood work I had low WBC and low neutrophils with slightly elevated monocytes. I still feel I have the UTI and going back to Urgent Care Cnter. I understand that Bactrim kills folic acid. Isn't folic acid related to production of neutrophils? If so is it safe for me to take Bactrim?
Since then I have had a handful of minor outbreaks over the years. Whenever I feel a tingling, I usually just pop a gram of Valtrex and then 12 hours later pop another gram and that usually does the trick to stop the outbreak. I do not ever recall having what I thought could be herpetic lesions in my anal or genital area. I do have fairly frequent sexual contact with multiple partners, so it’s certainly not out of the realm of possibility that I could have contracted this.
I have been diagnosed with MRSA and been treated three times rounds of Bactrim. I currently have an outbreak of the MRSA sores I need to pick up another round of Bactrim and now on the inside of my two index fingers the skin is peeling like a blister was there and then popped. The raw skin beneath hurts like a blister was there, however, there were no blisters on my fingers. Is this related to the MRSA?
I am experiencing UTI symptoms, fatigue, my whole body is very sore and achy especially my neck and shoulders and lower back. Have been through 2 weeks of Bactrim DS and three days after I finished meds...the UTI symptoms came back in full force including urinating blood (OUCH!). My dr prescribed another 20 days of Bactrim last Wednesday and called today to tell me that when they cultered the urine again it was resistent to Bactrim so he called me in something else.
A few years ago I took one Bactrim DS for sinusitis and within 2 hours suffered significant tingling (nerve pain) on left labia majora/minora followed by severe swelling, redness which took several days to a week to improve. (only took one Bactrim DS tablet). Diflucan didn't expedite resolution; it just took time. If I had to identify possible mild HSV 2 symptoms in the past it would be in that exact area. Can Bactrim DS cause an OB?
I was diagnosed with a bladder infection and a vaginal infection. I assume its bacterial vaginosis because my doctor prescribed Bactrim and Metrogel. But because I have Raynaud's Syndrome, I can't use Metrogel. So my doctor has now prescribed Cipro. But how would either one help with the vaginosis? And as for the bladder infection, couldn't I just take one because they both treat UTIs?

BINGO BANGO..... the minute I took the Bactrim ... no pardon me... I took the Bactrim right when I got back to my car. By the time I was at the light.... my clitoris's area and vulva opening started to itch.. IM LIKE NO FRESKING WAY! not that quick.

He ran some tests (blood and urine) and put me on Bactrim for the testicular pain. Results came back with everything negative (including HIV), except HSV 2. HSV 2 showed up on a “Herpes Simplex Virus 2 Glycoprotein - Positive” and also a “Herpes Simplex IgM” test (level 1.13). I've never had any kind of sore, oral or genital, and the IgM suggested fresh infection.

most folks who do, experience it initially when diagnosed and go on valtrex and are incredibly stressed. for most , it does come back. I do know of less than a handful of folks who experienced hair loss while on valtrex, they could find no other cause for it and even after stopping the valtrex the hair loss did not stop.
at this point continue to follow up on this with the dermatologist. they are your best bet.
acyclovir is 400mg 2x/day every single day. she will still get recurrences while on daily suppressive therapy regardless of if she's on acyclovir or valtrex, you just take acyclovir more often than you do valtrex.
I took care not to have a sip of alcohol, I did however have a N-acutely tyrosine supplement (includes B6), a b-complex vitamin (also had b6, folate, no potassium though), a magnesium supplement and 5mg of adderall (prescribed daily and earlier in the morning) and a bromelian supplement. Within about 30-45 min of taking the supplements a started to feel nauseous, had to leave an even immediacy and vomited repeatedly, also had very shortness of breath and almost fainted.

Hey Katie, I have the same issues And normally Bactrim cures uti infections....but Bactrim stopped working for me. I read that Bactrim is becoming less effective in curing these type infections...however, I have had wonderful results with CIprofloxin on a 7 day treatment, once every 12 hours. Do not forget your dose and even when symptoms are gone you must finish the cycle of ciprofloxin for 7 days so that the bacteria does not become resistant to the antibiotic.
How soon should I expect the lesions to clear after beginning Bactrim? And if my cultures for staph also come back negative, what does this mean?
In reading other posts you have done about risk of transmission and the fact that mixed couples have only produced a 5% transmission rate after a year of unprotected sex gives me some hope as well. Having only 3 encounters with this man would make my transmission rate low, so I am hopeful.
